1. Introduction to the Circle of Light This unique yoga retreat is set in the world renown Elephant Valley Project, nestled in the mountainous jungle of Mondulkiri Province in the North East of Cambodia. During the retreat, you will be surrounded by the sound of nature, the breaths from the trees, the energy of the earth and sky, and the light of the gentle giants. For beginners, you ll be equipped with knowledge to safely practice yoga in studio or at home. For season practitioners, this retreat will allow you to expand your knowledge base and to challenge your yoga practice with new perspectives. Being rejuvenated, centred and grounded, are the values you will take away from the retreat. By taking part in this retreat, you will also be contributing to the care of all the elephants here at the sanctuary, and vet care for the elephants across the province of Mondulkiri. funding the employment of 50 local staff from the local indigenous Bunong community. supporting the community and the conservation of their forest. supporting other NGO projects such as Medical Support Project, School Support Project, Land Rights and Land Titling Project and our Forest Protection. (15 % of your program fee goes directly to these elephant welfare and conservation projects.)

Accommodations Accommodation at the retreat is located on the slopes of the Elephant Valley offering stunning views over the surrounding forest where many varieties of birds from eagles to hornbills can be seen. Quad Sharing: Spacious rooms with 4 beds surrounded by lush green forest. Shared bathrooms and 2 cosy chill out areas. Twin sharing: Cosy rooms with 2 beds situated at the hillside of the project with amazing view of the valley. Shared bathrooms. Bungalow: Self-contained jungle bungalow build in the traditional Bunong style with a double bed. Ensuite including cold water shower and western toilet. Basic and comfortable room with a view. Suitable for one person, couple or best pal. Please Note: The base camp s electricity supply is powered by generator from approximately 6pm until 9pm, when you will have lights and be able to recharge those all important camera batteries. It is essential that you bring a torch for all other times, and for walking between the bungalows and the kitchen/lounge/dining area. Housekeeping will make up the rooms each day. As the retreat site is away from town. There is no internet connection.
5. About Elephant Valley Project and EVP Experience http://www.elephantvalleyproject.org/ Established since year 2007. Surrounded by forest and grassland and dedicated to the conservation and welfare of the elephants of Mondulkiri. Highlights of the EVP Experience : In the morning, hike out to the forest to meet the elephants. You can watch them relearning and showing real elephant behaviour. Meanwhile you will learn about the elephants individual stories and history, and also the unique role of the local villagers in protecting these incredible animals. Highlights of the day is to observe the elephants washing in the river, playing in the mud and dusting themselves in their daily beauty routines! In the afternoon, it will be your experience of a lifetime and rewarding volunteer work. (Be prepared to get your hands dirty! It can be hard work but do work at your own pace.) 6. Yoga Instructors Lana Yang Honoring the unique body in each of us is her teaching mantra. In Lana s class, precise body alignments, breath is the main focus. At the same time, she likes to cultivate the attitude of looking inwards, and appreciate the authentic light within ourselves and others. 200-hours Anusara Yoga Teacher Training under Jonas Westring at Shantaya Yoga School. 200-hrs Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Soul & Body Fit with Alison Hawkins and Oskar Nery in Vinyasa Style practices in the Krishnamacharya lineage. Fion Lee Fion is grateful for the path that yoga revealed during her challenging phases of her life to embrace the uncertainty, accept what is in the present moment while focusing on gratitude. Fion s classes focus on alignment, strength and breath.
