Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Matthew 9:36-38 From Pastor Ralph... What a great Sunday we had for our first day of the At the Movies sermon series! The series presents a uniquely fun and effective way of communicating the truth. You all did a great job of inviting friends, and many people responded to the message of forgiveness. Sunday we looked at how different people respond to hurt and grief. Everyone has to deal with painful experiences in life. Hebrews 12:15 indicates that God s grace is available to us when we re hurting. But when we don t accept that grace, our hurt can develop into unforgiveness and bitterness. And if one is not following Christ, they are in no position to receive His grace. Unforgiveness hardens us, robs us of peace and joy, and poisons the other relationships in our lives. It separates from God, brings spiritual blindness (I John 2:9), and robs us of the good God intends for our lives. Forgiveness begins with acknowledging our hurt, not denying it. Here are the steps you can take to experience freedom: 1. Acknowledge hurt. 2. Remember God s forgiveness to you We sinned, earned death and hell; Jesus never sinned, gave His life for us. 3. Surrender right to hold grudge Repent. 4. Choose to forgive with your will, not feelings. 5. Ask Him to remove the bitterness. 6. Then pray for those who hurt you pray for their best. 7. Walk in this forgiveness by grace. Freedom comes through forgiveness! As we have been forgiven much, God calls us to forgive, but we need His power to be able to do it (Matthew 6:11-15). Our ability to forgive is bound in His forgiveness of our sins. This is not excusing what has been done to us, but turning justice over to God. Jesus says to us, put their offense on my account. We ll continue our At the Movies series these next two weeks, and I m looking forward to hearing how God uses it in our church and in the friends we invite to take part!

Living in Freedom Everyday If you have had a hard time getting over rejection or unforgiveness, staying focused in your spiritual walk, or just desire to be free of anything that may hinder your walk, makes plans to join us for our study on freedom: Wednesdays at 6:45pm in the Worship Center. Simplify (Mixed Group) Competing priorities and constant busyness can leave us feeling overwhelmed and overworked. Join us on Wednesdays at 6:45pm in room 206 as we look at practical tips and spiritual insights to help you declutter your soul. Breathe (Women s Group) One of the greatest challenges for women in our culture is taking time to cease from all the activities and just breathe. We are in bondage to busyness. We constantly strive to complete the limitless to-do lists that hinder us from experiencing all that God has for us. If you are weary, worn out, and exhausted, then the concept of Sabbath will change your life. Join us on Wednesdays at 6:45pm in the Office Bldg room 212. Holy Spirit (Women s Group) The Holy Spirit is frequently misunderstood, leaving many clueless about who He is and how He expresses Himself to us. He is often portrayed as something weird. But the Bible makes it clear that the Spirit is not something. He is someone a Person who has promised to never leave your side. We invite you to join us on Wednesdays at 6:45pm in room 105. Hopekeepers (Mixed Group) This small group provides spiritual encouragement and personal support for those who are chronically ill, disabled, suffer with chronic pain, cancer, terminal illness, or invisible illnesses. This group is also for family members, caregivers, and friends of those who are suffering. Hopekeepers meets Sundays at in the Room.
