By Jenn Soehnlin This list is by no means all that you can be praying for your child. This list is in no particular order. Simply use it as a springboard to help you pray for your child. A few ideas for praying these Scriptures: 1) Put your child s name in each verse and make it applicable to your child. For example, both my sons are delayed in speech. The third scripture on this list is for your child s words, that a word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver. So I thank God for each new apple of gold my child has learned, and pray that their language will grow, that they will have new apples of gold each day, etc. 2) Pray these Scriptures over your child, as blessings. The first few months I used this list, I went through them in my own time with the Lord. But when my younger son was struggling with a loooot of anxiety, I pulled out this list, placed my hand over his anxious heart, read the 23rd Scripture in this list about peace, and prayed for peace in his heart. Slowly we began to see him becoming more secure and less anxious. 3) Place the relevant Scriptures where you and your children can see them often. My younger son was fearful before bed of monsters, and no matter how much I tried to reassure him they didn t exist, he wasn t convinced. I wrote the 25th Scripture on this list on a notecard and taped it next to his bed and read it over him every night before bed. If he expressed fear, I d show him the card and remind him that God would give him peace and keep him safe, and though he was too young to read the card, he was reassured by it.

22. Pray your child would grow in understanding, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding--indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.
