Columbus was a courageous man. We all know how he founded the new land that is now known as the Americas. What many people have not learned about Christopher Columbus though is that he studied Biblical prophets and was deeply spiritual. Does anyone know what Christopher means? Christ- bearer. Christopher Columbus wanted to bring the teachings of Christ to the New World and he KNEW that he had been chosen for this mission. Columbus was one of Saint Germain s embodiments. Saint Germain carried the torch of freedom throughout his many lifetimes and 1
continues to carry that torch now as an ascended master. He is the chohan, or Lord of the seventh ray. The seventh- ray flame of God represents the violet flame, freedom, justice, and joy. Let s watch a short clip of our beloved Mother of the Flame, Guru Ma as she tells us about our Beloved Saint Germain and Christopher Columbus. (Play video clip.) Did you hear the part where Mother told us that all of us have known Saint Germain during at least one of his embodiments? Maybe some of you were with him or knew him when he was Christopher Columbus. So, perhaps when we hear the stories of these great men, we often wonder if we can ever be so grand. Have you ever thought that? Well, the answer is Yes, we can! Do you know what this is? (Hold up compass. Allow children to answer.) Right, it s a compass. Columbus used this to help guide him. He used another kind of compass too. What kind of compass do you think that might be? (Allow children to answer.) He relied on his Mighty I AM Presence to guide him to do the right thing. I now would like to read a short a story from the book, The Light and the Glory. The story tells about one of the tests Columbus went through on his journey to America. The date was October 9, 1492. Three small Spanish ships called caravels sailed along in a calm sea. Martin Pinson and his brother 2
Vincent, were captains of the Pinta and the Nina. They had come onto the Santa Maria for an emergency meeting with the commander, Columbus. Columbus welcomed the two captains into his private cabin. His smile disappeared when he saw their expressions. They did not look happy. Commander, Things are not going well, Martin Pinzon began. Our men are tired. They are scared and grumbling. We have not seen land for thirty- one days. You do not even know if there is land ahead. We are too far away from Spain, sir, Vincent continued. You must turn the ships around. Columbus sighed. Was there anything except water ahead of them? Try to visualize or imagine what it must have been like for these men. All they could see was the sea, the sky and clouds. There were no landmarks for them except the sun during the day and the stars at night. When you ride home from church with your parents, you see houses, different shaped mountains and even a river to help guide you. Try to imagine going home without seeing anything at all except the road. No trees, buildings, mountains, grass, nothing, just one large road. What do you think that would be like? (Allow children to answer.) 3
Even with using the compass, the men were afraid and wanted to turn back. Columbus walked over to the window of his cabin and pondered what to do and prayed quietly. They were asking him to give up all his hopes and dreams. How could he quit now? He had waited eight long years to set sail. Should he stop the mission and turn back? The commander turned to face his two captains. He didn t want to turn back but the men on the ships were almost ready to revolt. What do you think Columbus said? (Allow children to answer.) Let s see. He whispered, You re right. We ll turn back. With a heavy heart, Columbus glanced out the porthole again. But you must give me one thing, he continued. This is where Columbus showed his faith. I want three more days on this course. Just three days. Tell the men that if we don t sight land by October 12, we will head home. The Pinzon brothers agreed and left to tell their men. Columbus felt burdened. To turn back meant defeat. Yet God was still God and he always answered prayers. What do you think Columbus did at this time? (Allow children to answer.) Right, he prayed. Humbly, the commander knelt in his cabin at his altar, which he did have, and prayed. He asked his Mighty I AM Presence for guidance. 4
CONCLUSION: We all know how the story ended. Three days later on October 12, 1492, the men spotted land and here we are today. And we are grateful that Columbus had faith in God. Saint Germain continues to sponsor America and freedom. Here is a picture of the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., our nation s capital. Do you see what s on top? (Show picture and allow children to answer.) This is the Statue of the Goddess of Freedom. The Goddess of Freedom is an Ascended Master. In 1975, Saint Germain said, I select the monument, the focal point for the enshrining of freedom. In a later dictation, the Goddess of Freedom said, My hour has come. Your hour has come. We are teammates! Let s go forward and play to win! How many of you want to play to win, so that freedom may reign and that we can be free all the way home to our ascension? Then let s stand and show Saint Germain and the Goddess of Freedom that we mean business in defending freedom and that we will be the America that he envisioned. Let s say, Hail Saint Germain and Hail Goddess of Freedom (3x each). (Hand out wallet card of Saint Germain for them to put on altar.) You can put this on your altar and pray to Saint Germain and the Goddess of Freedom for our government, our freedoms and any other things that are on your heart. 5
Thank you for being a part of the children s story. Have a wonderful day. 6
