April 18, 2018 Volume 55, Issue 16 Travis Baptist Messenger April 29 6:00 pm For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." (2 Cor. 10:4-5) As you read this certain terms almost leap out of the page; words like "war," "weapons," "warfare," and "strongholds." It is as if Paul has transported us to the front lines of a battlefield. You can almost hear the guns firing, the bombs exploding, and smell the smoke all around you. The reason for that is, there is a battle for your mind taking place at this very moment. Paul compares the mind here to a fortress. He says your mind is like a castle; it's like a stronghold. It is constantly under attack. There is a battle raging within your mind in which the only prisoner that can be taken is you. The devil wants to make your mind his spiritual headquarters. You are the target and your mind is the bull's-eye. Now why would the devil be so interested in your mind? The answer is very simple: If he can control your mind he can control you, because the mind is the control center of who we are. That's why the Bible means when it says, "For as a man thinks in his heart, so is he." (Prov. 23:7) You are not what you eat, but you are what you think. So monitor what goes in your mind. What we believe leads to what we do. Open yourself to Christ today.

Dear Church Family: Thank you very much for your participation in reaching out to our neighborhood and our church visitors, by your prayers, donation of Egg Hunt items, time to stuff the eggs, and also, time to hide the eggs for the recent Resurrection Egg Hunts. There were about 30 children and their families who came to the Egg Hunt at the Marbella Apartments. The Passion Message was delivered and copies of the Jesus for Children DVD and Who is This Jesus? booklet were distributed. We are thankful for the apartment staff who keep welcoming us to their community to spread the Good News every year. Please continue to pray for the salvation of the children and their families who came to the Egg Hunt. The Egg Hunt for our church children and visitors on Resurrection Sunday went very well, too. We were blessed to have a lot of visitors who came. Copies of Jesus for Children DVD and Who is This Jesus? booklet were distributed here as well. Please continue to pray for the visitors to find a good church home, if they do not have one. Continue to pray that the message of God s Salvation will continue to stay in the hearts of the children, which will eventually bring salvation to them and their families. Don t we all wish that we can have Resurrection Weekend every week? May God bless you all and keep you closer to Him every day. Gratefully, Laura Lee Davis Calling All Clutter Queens!
