Relax - At BRC you can rest assured that you will not be embarrassed, singled out, or put on the spot. 2. Fill Out a Welcome Card - These can be dropped in the offering plate later. The information won t be misused, and will help us know who s been here. It s also a great way to drop a note to, or request a contact from, a staff member. 3. Ask for Prayer - If you have a prayer concern to share, pick up a prayer request form from the cart in back. Give completed forms to an usher or the pastor before the service begins. 4. Know There Are Options for Children - - The small room in the right rear corner has rocking chairs where little ones can be rocked, quieted or nursed. - We have an excellent nursery for ages 0-3 at the far end of our education wing. 5. Join Us for Fellowship - Coffee and juice are served in the fellowship area after each service. Join us and get acquainted. We do ask that you not take drinks into worship with you. 6. Do Not Feel Obligated to Give - If you are a first-time guest, please do not feel obligated to participate in the offering. This is a time when members and regular attendees honor God by giving to his work through this church. Let today be our gift to you. 7. Give by Text is available. Simply send a text to 330-239-8652 with the amount you would like to contribute. 8. Stop by our Welcome Center for more information about Brunswick Reformed Church! 9. Next weekend I will be in Denver, consulting with a church that is doing succession planning for a pastor who is a year away from retirement after 25 years there. They asked for help, denominational people who know the uniqueness of what we are doing asked if I would be willing to share our story, and our elders encouraged me to go. So I m going. Please pray for this, as it really is an experiment. This Denver church is discerning how to move forward with the least disruption. The denomination is trying to discern best ways to help churches who are transitioning after long pastorates. And I ve been asked to consider serving as a consultant in such situations. Please pray that God would provide clarity in all of this, for each of us in our own roles, for the betterment of his kingdom. Pray that he would open or shut doors according to his will. My travels next weekend also provide another opportunity for Pastor Pete Pinkowski to preach for us. You received him with warm encouragement when he was with us in December, and now his wife and two young sons should be with him as well. But please be in prayer here also. As Pastor Pete continues preparations for planting a new church in the Kamm s Corners area of Cleveland, ask God to bring to mind people you know who are living in that area who do not have a church home. Invite them to come hear Pete next week. Keep an open mind to being involved yourself, should God so lead. And keep praying for the Pinkowski family in all of the adjustments they are making with this move to Cleveland. It s an exciting time as we participate in the various ways in which God s Spirit is moving and guiding. Thanks for being involved in it! Thanks for choosing life! Pastor Don Prayer concerns: Please pray for Flora Kostyak; her cancer is advancing and she has started on new, more powerful meds. Pray for spiritual and physical strength through this journey. Continue praying for those with ongoing health concerns: Bob Beck, Bob Cooperrider, Rick Demeter, Nancy & Bob Hanwell, Ashley Holler, Peg Jenkins, Rose & Bob Murray, Eileen Raich, Gini Reinke, Ted Szenger, Mary Trzop and Nickey Whited. Continue to pray for our military personnel.

CHOOSE LIFE INTRODUCTION Life is full of Making some choices eliminates other options Today we look at Moses clarion call to choose well DEUTERONOMY 30:11-20 The Backdrop to the Story Israel is about to finally enter the Promised Land Moses is about to hand leadership over to Joshua Israel is being asked to her covenant commitment to God The Command Is Not Hard to Understand What I am commanding you is not too difficult or beyond your reach It is not hard to access for the Israelites for us today The word is very near you, in your mouth and heart so you may obey it they had heard it and spoken it and remembered it it is what had helped them survive those long years of slavery if you don t understand the Bible, to blame? in Jesus, The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us John 1:14 The purpose of the word was to inspire the people know the word, but they aren t obeying it Most Christians are educated way beyond their level of obedience John Maxwell

The Choice and the Consequences I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction the Israelites stand at a crossroads, choosing their future you and I stand at a crossroads, our futures personally, each day and every decision as we look to the next chapters of our lives Choosing obedience leads to life and blessings Choosing to live other than God s way leads to death and curses What are blessings? What are curses? These are not always immediate, but they are Choose life, that you and your children may live love listen hold fast... What Does This Look Like in Practice? Choose physical life Choose life accept Jesus as Savior, but also make him Lord ask for and accept forgiveness choose life inwardly, upwardly and outwardly Choose financial life Choose life Choose to live until you die Be a life CONCLUSION

How are you right with God? Answer. Only by true faith in Jesus Christ. Even though my conscience accuses me of having grievously sinned against all God's commandments and of never having kept any of them, and even though I am still ever inclined toward all evil, nevertheless, without my deserving it at all, out of sheer grace, God grants and credits to me the perfect satisfaction, righteousness, and holiness of Christ, as if I had never sinned nor been a sinner, as if I had been as perfectly obedient as Christ was obedient for me. All I need to do is accept this gift of God with a believing heart.

Brunswick Reformed Church Why Do We Exist? BRC exists to be a church where the love of Jesus is transforming lives. What Do We Do? BRC offers opportunities for Christ-centered worship, discipleship, fellowship, service and outreach. What Are Our Core Values? Compassion: The love of Jesus empowers us to value and love all people, and to serve those for whom God is equipping us. To What Values Do We Aspire? Discipleship: We will continue to develop a wise understanding of God s Word, an ability to discern God s will, and an eagerness to obey God s leading. Worship: We will continue to grow in our commitment and love for both personal and corporate worship. Kingdom-focused: We will place involvement in God s mission before personal preferences or human traditions. Faith sharing: With humble confidence we will live out our faith, sharing our stories and inviting others to join us on the journey as we have opportunity. Prayer: We will live all aspects of life dependent on God and in communication with him, sharing our hearts and listening for his leadings.
