Roundy s Foundation TEN YEARS 10 Annual Report 2013 Roundy s Foundation was chartered in 2003 to strengthen the commitment Roundy s Supermarkets has to the communities served by its stores: Pick `n Save, Copps, Rainbow, Metro Market and Mariano s. After completing its first 10 years of giving back, Roundy s Foundation continues its mission on providing basic needs that ensure strong families and strong communities. Since its inception, the Foundation has donated more than $8.1 million to food pantries, women s shelters and domestic violence programs throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois.

A Message from Bob Mariano The Roundy s Foundation is now entering its 11th year of operation. Eleven years ago, our vision was to create a foundation focused on giving back to the communities we serve. We are strong advocates of investing in our community s future, an investment that has and will continue to improve the quality of life for those less fortunate. We have put our advocacy into action by funding valuable organizations over the last 11 years that day-in and day-out provide critical services in the areas of hunger relief and family crisis situations. Without these organizations and their response to the needs of the community, a sense of despair would predominate. We remain steadfast in our commitment to these organizations and the energy they bring to improving the quality of life in the community. We have made a commitment of over $8 million in food and funding over the last 11 years to try and bring a brighter tomorrow to those in need. Although we contribute food and money to our communities, we believe our greatest contribution is hope. That s what drives our mission, that s what makes us advocates, that s what keeps us going. Roundy s Foundation Hunger Relief $483,567 Hunger Relief is at the core of the Roundy s Foundation s mission. Our company s stores sustain communities by providing quality food at affordable prices, but an increasing number of families are struggling to put food on the table. The bulk of the Foundation s funds support the development of a long-term solution to hunger in the areas we serve. The food pantries and other non-profit organizations receiving donations from the Foundation are dedicated to building healthy communities through hunger relief and nutrition initiatives. 10TEN YEARS Did You Know... In 2004, our first full year of grants, we donated to 37 organizations, with donations just over $410,000. In 2013, our tenth year of operation, we donated to more than 80 organizations plus an additional 120 food pantries on the food tours. Food Tours & Donations Our first food tour, we drove a rental car to individual food pantries, making stops at 24 pantries or food banks. There are two identical customized Foundation trailers, delivering donations with extra TLC since end of 2005.

The Kobussen Coach bus driver donates his time each food tour to drive and assist. He has been the same driver for all food tours since 2008. Thanks Wilson! Today we are driven by bus to give donations to 60 food pantries in a week. The annual golf outing is the Foundation s only fundraiser. The first golf outing had just over 300 golfers and raised $410,000. Last year s outing had almost 440 golfers and raised $750,000. We have had the following celebrities make appearances at our first nine golf outings: Robin Yount has attended the last five outings and is planning on more! Bart Starr Paul Hornung Hank Haney Andy North Gary McCord Rocco Mediate Mark Calcavecchia Rick Smith Donald Driver Gale Sayers Cindy Rarick Michelle McGann Angela Stanford Jamie Sadlowski Ahman Green Jan Stephenson Jackie Gallagher-Smith Kristy McPherson Blair O Neal Bill Schroeder Jerry Kramer Tina Mickelson Jenna Daniels

Community fairs Community Fairs are a great opportunity to gather Roundy s Foundation grant recipients to share information about their mission. These events have not only provided an occasion to share with our customers and employees about their partnership with Roundy s Foundation, but also act as a tool in which to encourage and recruit volunteers for the various non-profits. In 2013, community fairs were held in Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Community Involvement

Roundy s Foundation Golf Classic 2013 is the Year to Top The Ninth Annual Golf Classic was the top producing event thus far, and proved to be another extraordinary day at Geneva National Golf Club. The popular event was attended by over 430 golfers, and raised over $750,000! We had the pleasure of hosting Ahman Green in the morning, and always popular Robin Yount attended the event again as well. With the generous support of our vendor community and friends, the Foundation is able to continue their efforts to give food and funds to food pantries, meal programs, women and family violence shelters, and prevention education throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois. However, the greatest highlight of the day was our honored guest, Donald Driver. It was a truly amazing day!

Special Partnerships Roundy s Foundation is delighted to participate in some special partnership events with organizations in our communities.

ALTERRA COFFEE 2013 was the final year for this partnership. For every pound of Alterra Coffee purchased by customers in our stores, Roundy s and Alterra donate $1 to hunger relief through Feeding America and Second Harvest branches in Milwaukee, Madison, and Minneapolis. The program led to more than $100,000 in donations to food banks in our markets. KOBUSSEN BUSES Roundy s Foundation is fortunate to have the partnership of Kobussen Buses for our semi-annual food tours. Kobussen provides busing for staff traveling for the food tours each Spring and Fall, and the driver donates his time to drive and help each day of the trip. SUPPORTING UNITED WAY Roundy s Foundation continued its support of Hunger Relief and Domestic Abuse programs through a grant to the United Way of Greater Milwaukee for $60,000. This contribution to the organization s 2013 campaign was distributed to United Way partner agencies focused the work of Hunger Relief and Domestic Abuse and Violence. STUFF THE BUS The Roundy s Foundation was in attendance the day before Thanksgiving for the Annual Stuff the Bus event at the Pick `n Save in West Allis. This annual event is Wisconsin s largest one-day food drive, filling five county buses, and featuring a live broadcast all day by 99.1 The Mix. The Foundation donated $15,000 and 16,000 pounds of soup to the event! WE ARE FEEDING MILWAUKEE FOOD DRIVE Roundy s Foundation joined in the effort at this one day food drive for the Hunger Task Force at Miller Park. This annual food drive, partnered with CBS 58 and now the Brewer s Community Foundation, is growing quickly. Roundy s Foundation donated nearly $25,000 in cereal and $16,000 for this event.
