Page Nine St. Joseph s Church, Penfield, New York October 1, 2006 A Ver Catholic Conversation Issue 8 FAITH FORMATION NEWS The web site that support our classroom based materials also has excellent resources for sacrament preparation so I invite ou to look at www.faithfirst.com and click on the Sacrament books on the home page and see where it takes ou. As we begin our preparation for First Eucharist I invite all in the communit to think about the role we all pla in teaching. A communit teaches b how it acts. Do we see our being part of the Sunda gathering as important and fulfilling? Do we enter the celebration with respect, wonder awe and jo? Can others see that b our behavior both coming to and leaving from the Liturg as well as how we participate during the celebration? Lots of questions to answer but first it is good to recall that oung people learn from example and the look to see the aspects of awe and wonder. The can see in how we move, stand and kneel that we are reverent and attentive to what is happening and what we are part of during the Mass. The hear our responses and our voices lifted in song and the wa we focus on the words and actions that happen. The can sense our jo and the energ we have for being there and the learn that this is a time and place that is significant for us and b our openness that it is something that we want to share with them. So as alwas we invite ou to pra for the children and families preparing to celebrate the Eucharist. We ask ou to encourage and welcome them and we ask ou to be the example of the fait filled Christian who loves a good and gracious God and wants others to experience and share that love. As alwas I end b inviting a continued conversation at fox@stjosephspenfield.org ma the week ahead be filled with the blessing of the jo that comes from and flows back to the Sunda celebration at the table of the Lord.
