With Christ at the helm, we cannot fail, we are destined to greatness in Christ and a New year of opportunity and blessing. Carols by candlelight What an awesome night where we celebrated the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. After a wonderful time of singing carols in the parking lot of Cambridge West SPAR, the YFC Club kids insisted on a time of Praise & Worship where they openly got lost in giving praise to the King in the parking lot. News about E L YFC's House By now, everyone is tired of hearing about the sale of the YFC House, as the matter has dragged on for 3 years. The good news is that it has been sold and all we await is the Buffalo City municipality to release the clearance certificate for rates and taxes and the new owners can move in. So please, rejoice with us. School Ministry Highlights As reported by Dumza Peters Awesome news just come in - Ulwazi High School, one of the schools where the "Self Leadership" program has been presented has finished the year with a 100% Grade 12 pass rate. Thank you Jesus! We reached 315 girl learners in our Bright Future Program classes and 422 learners in grade 12 through Self Leadership and Exam Motivation in 13 schools. Many grade 12 learners are really appreciating the visits and sessions in Self Leadership. Mostly they believe that it helps them in decision making and change of lifestyle
We formally facilitated 6 Protective Future Lessons in class rooms for girls. The schools principals and the mentors were happy as they accepted the programme and cooperated well with facilitators Many schools opened up their schedule for the program to operate safely and supported the project Mentors were impressed by the lessons and even observed some sessions from behind without interference. Some facilitators were enjoying classes and were impressed by the positive responses of the learners Many facilitators appreciated the opportunity to make a positive impact and change in lives of the kids in their communities. The learners were excited with the lessons and gained very important information and influence from the facilitators. There are 12 schools who have not reported teenage pregnancy but even the 3 that reported, was not in the grades that we had intervention into. (The results and outcome below show that but their challenges are the documents that are not completed). Many schools educators and parents are looking forward to this intervention because it will change the children life style and protect them in pregnancy and infections. Conclusion with Future Plans We are very pleased with the progress and achievements so far even if the process was slow. We are happy with the Results and Outcomes we've had in many of our schools even though some may fall away. I will continue working in schools next year with addition of one school. Our aim as YFC is to train Youth workers and Youth Pastors to start the Youth Clubs and Discipleship in Church Communities and assist with Schools Life Skills in those communities too. I will continue with Siyakholwa Education and Training Program next year. I hope that it will give us the opportunity of reaching many young people in the schools and communities and introduce them to local churches. We have observed the excitement of learners and appreciation of educators for these programs in their schools. That s what motivates us as we are passionate for the youth too. We will change children's life styles and protect them from pregnancy and infections. YFC Club Ministry The YFC club in Cambridge West has made a very positive impact in the lives of the community. Over the past year, we have see teens accepting Christ into their lives almost every Friday evening. The impact that is being made is so huge that when we closed the club for
the holidays, the kids begged us to keep going through the holidays. Because we needed a break too, we have closed it but still met casually several times during the holidays. Rejoice with us for changed lives. HIP-HOP trio to spread the gospel: One of the club kids reached for Christ, Av (On the far right - in the picture on right) and a couple of his friends hit the headlines in East London. Please pray for them as the take the good news to their peers. Easter Camp God never ceases to amaze me as He has put the team together to plan for this amazing annual event. They have been planning hard since August and the theme, "Challenge accepted" has been carefully planned for reaching the unbeliever. (Back to basics). Our Camp Speakers this year, Owen Domoney & Roy Stevens have heard clearly from God and are presenting a message that will challenge the unbeliever and establish the New Christian's walk with God. Please pray earnestly for this amazing event. Leadership Training of local Church Leaders: Our leadership training program for the churches of East London, kicks off in April 2016. Roy & Owen have compiled and written a leadership training manual designed to help churches successfully launch their Youth for the New Year. Desrae Naude brings YFC to PE / Uitenhage Schools Report Kleinpoort Primary school. As reported by Desrae Will we ever understand God's timing. I went to visit the teachers and children of Kleinpoort Primary School just outside of Uitenhage. A lovely little school in the mountains. The school grounds are surrounded by beautiful flowers, peaceful atmosphere and complete reminder of God s creations Rosaline, the school principle is a lovely, kind Christian lady. There are three teachers and 43 children. I was amazed at the good manners of the children and the cleanliness of the school classrooms and play grounds. Margaret is a 76 year old retired preschool teacher. She has the little schools and crèche s wellbeing at heart. We gave a lesson on transport. Mama Des did the Sunday school lesson! Lord, how I pray that You could raise up a Youth for Christ worker to assist the teachers. The children are mostly from alcoholic homes. This is often a problem for the children to concentrate. Rosaline has to be the principle, teacher and mother and friend.
She explained to me that she does not get to do her administration work! (That sounded like diamonds to my ears)! Margaret and Rosaline prayed that God will send me to them! The department is not worried about that side of assistance but they still require all their reports etc. This is a school filled with teachers and children that want to be better, that want to be someone one day. Most of all they love and believe in Jesus. I give God all the glory for giving us the training through Youth for Christ and always keeping us mindful of His children. From the Directors Desk: Can YOU Imagine? We can t imagine what it must have been like for those born on the other side of history, waiting for this Saviour, Jesus to be born. Their hearts would be longing for this day of joyful celebration to finally arrive. We are so privileged to be a part of the family of God who can celebrate His miraculous birth, His sinless life, His defeat of sin and death and His great love and mercy towards us. So wherever you find yourself, whatever you were waiting for, let the birth of this baby born in that obscure manger of Bethlehem be a reminder that God was revealed in the flesh and He is Emanuel God with us! His birth changed our calendars, our lives and our eternal destiny. Praise the Lord that Christ has come...that Christ is risen... and that Christ will come again. We can truly proclaim with the songwriter, Oh come, let us adore Him! Compliments of the season! Roy PS. We need you! For those who have stood with us financially and prayerfully through this past year, thank you! Many children's lives have been changed as a result of your generosity and commitment. For those just hearing about YFC's work, please consider supporting YFC East London. There is so much more we could be doing but we need financial resources to reach our goal to be able to employ new workers for the ripe Harvest fields! Please complete the Debit Order below and return it to stevensrl7@gmail.com (all small letters) or fax it to 0865509444. May 2016 be your best year yet! May Jesus be real to you daily and may you be enriched by His presence in your life. Yours for His Kingdom Roy
