Jeff s Story I was saved in 1993 at a tent revival in my home church in Missouri. The next summer I went on my first missions trip with my youth group to New Mexico. It was there, seeing the need and being involved, that God began to touch my heart. One evening in the meetings we sang I Have Decided to Follow Jesus. I began to think, I am saved, but have I ever committed my life to follow Jesus totally? I went back to the dorm room after the service and began to read and pray. God was touching my heart and as I began to read Isaiah 41:9-20, God spoke to my heart about being a missionary. That night I gave my life fully to Him. I was 16 at the time. When I returned home my pastor began to encourage and work with me. I finished high school and then went to Crown College. During my second year I went to Peru for 6 months and God taught me many things about missions. I went back and finished my studies, praying that God would direct me exactly to the country where He wanted me. After much prayer and study, God placed Argentina on my heart. I graduated from Bible college in May of 2000 and got married in June of 2000. My wife and I immediately began our deputation and then went to Peru for almost 2 years for language and preparation. We arrived in La Plata, Argentina on January 21, 2004 and began looking for a house, vehicle, and church building. God gave us everything we needed in a short amount of time, and on March 21, 2004 we held our first service at the Lighthouse Baptist Church in La Plata. In September 2004, God gave us the opportunity to begin a second church, Grace Baptist Church in Quilmes, a city 45 minutes away from La Plata. In March 2005, we began the first classes in the Macedonia Baptist Institute with a group of young people who desired to prepare for God s service. In 2010, the Berean Baptist Church was started by one of the Bible college students and in 2011 Hope Baptist Church was started by another college graduate. The Lord is doing a wonderful work in and through these group of students who desire to serve God. Since we have left the Bible college students and graduates continue starting works in and around the city of La Plata. In May of 2012, the Lord opened doors and after prayer and counsel, we accepted the position of General Director of Vision Baptist Missions in Alpharetta, GA. As Director, we have the opportunity to not only help the missionaries that are with VBM, but to raise up a new geneartion of missionaries for a needy world without Christ. We are based out of 3
Alpharetta, Georgia and travel preaching missions conferences, counseling missionaries, teaching in the Our Generation Training Center and entering all the doors that God opens to encourage everyone possible in the area of world evangelism. Mindy s Story I grew up in a Christian home in Brownsville, Indiana. I accepted Christ as my Saviour when I was 8 years old. In my childhood I don't remember wanting to be anything but a missionary. When I was 4, I surrendered to the mission field. After completing high school I attended Crown College. During my second year there, I spent 6 months in Peru as a student learning about missions. I met my husband at Crown College and in June of 2000 we were married. After 18 months on deputation, we moved to Peru and stayed almost 2 years in language and ministry preparation before going to Argentina. God tremendously blessed in the 8 years in Argentina and we now are excited about what the Lord has called us to do as we work with young missionary families. We have 4 daughters and 1 little boy and are thankful for the wonderful family God has given us. May I burn up for Thee, consume my life, my God, for it is Thine. Statement of Faith The Bible is the Word of God. It has been preserved for all generations. (We use the KJV for English speaking people.) God is triune consisting of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the Son of God who was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died for sins, rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and will return. Mankind is sinful and deserves the punishment of an eternal, literal hell. Salvation is only by the grace of God through repentance and faith in the shed blood of Jesus. The Holy Spirit enters, seals, and baptizes at the moment of salvation, and keeps the believer eternally secure. Baptism is by immersion, after salvation, and in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Youth at the Our Generation Camp publicly express their desire to become a missionaries 5
Recommendations Dear Pastor It brings me great pleasure to introduce you to Jeff Bush. I have known Jeff and Mindy Bush for over 15 years, and have watched as God has grown and developed Jeff into the faithful man that he is today. I watched Jeff pay the price to not only learn Spanish, but learn it extremely well. They were greatly used in South America for over 12 years, where they planted 5 churches, started a Bible College, had a radio ministry with their own station, and left trained leaders in charge of and pastoring all the works which continue strong to this day! Jeff doesn t just know the lingo: he has done the work. He is a proven leader training, church planting, soul winning missionary. Hundreds of lives have already been impacted in Peru and Argentina and the work continues to multiply through those he has trained. God has called Jeff to return and serve as our missions pastor, taking the leadership of Vision Baptist Missions. We need missionaries that are trained, prepared, and accountable for the work that they are doing. God has given Vision Baptist Missions 23 families that are serving Him in 15 countries. as a director, he does not sits in an office all day pushing papers but is continually involved with the missionaries, visiting them, coaching them, calling them, and making sure they have the support they need to be effective on the field and the best stewards of church s mission money. As a vital member of Visions pastoral team, he genuinely ministers to our missionaries! Jeff is a dynamic Bible preacher: he knows how to teach people and motivate them to do the work of God. I highly recommend him as a guest speaker for any mission s conference. He understands missionaries because of his years of service on the field. He understands pastors because he has pastored for over 12 years. He understands faith promise and missions from a very unique perspective, and I believe that he will be a great blessing to your church. Jeff is also singularly gifted in counselling and ministering to missionaries of other churches! He genuinely loves and cares for other missionaries, and understands intimately what they face. He knows what it is like to serve on the field, suffer at the hands of armed robbers, deal with health struggles, plant churches, and train leaders. His ability to connect with our people and explain faith promise missions was very effective! Our church not only saw an increase in giving but was honored to have another young man surrender to the Ministry!
