Together Love Worship Work Serve Ephesians 2:19-21 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with Gods people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to be come a holy temple in the Lord. ELCA Southeastern Synod Youth Assembly March 9-11 2018 LUTHERRANCH 342 McGinnis Rd Tallapoosa, GA 30176 SESLYO Assembly Packet for 2018 The Southeastern Synod Lutheran Youth Organization (SESLYO) Assembly is a gathering of youth leaders from all the congregations of the Southeastern Synod. This year our assembly will be at Lutherranch in Tallapoosa GA. Your SESLYO board has planned a full weekend of discussion, workshops, and mission!

What is the Southeastern Synod Lutheran Youth Organization (SESLYO)? The vision of SESLYO is to empower youth to serve as leaders, to encourage growth as disciples of Christ, and to provide a voice for youth within the Southeastern Synod. The primary purpose of the annual assembly is to deal with issues confronting youth, to inform youth concerning the work of the Church, and to encourage their participation in ministry as well as train and equip them in a particular topic relevant to their faith. In 2005, the Synod Assembly passed a resolution, created by the youth, recommending that all congregations send two youth to SESLYO Assembly each year. It is important that youth from all 160 congregations are represented at the SESLYO assembly. The SESLYO assembly gives the youth of our synod a place to lift their voices as leaders in this church and a place where they can learn how to lead in their congregations, their conferences, the Southeastern Synod, and the ELCA. The Theme: Ephesians 2:19-21. Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. Voting Delegates to the Assembly Delegates should be active members of their congregation. They can be in 9th-12th grades. Each congregation should elect 2 voting delegates (unlimited number of youth visitors are allowed). The delegates shall attend all the sessions of the assembly, prepare and present a report on the actions of the SESLYO Assembly to their home congregations, and act on any resolutions submitted by youth delegates. Youth Visitors and Adults at the SESLYO Assembly The SESLYO Assembly is an open meeting of the church, as are all board meetings and events. This means that youth and adult visitors are welcome to come and observe the SESLYO members in action. Youth visitors may be in 6 th -12 th grades. Adult visitors are welcome to observe and participate but will have to have to bring proof of a background check run by their church. Adult visitor s costs are the same as the youth delegates and youth visitors, SESLYO board, and SESLYO adult advisors. How will Registration work in 2018? Registration opens on November 1 st 2017 and ends February 10 th 2018 Register online at www.sesyouth.org Cost is $120 per person. Make checks out to ELCA Southeastern Synod. This includes two breakfasts, one lunch, and one dinner plus all lodging, and program fees, snacks, and an awesome T-shirt Mail your signed paperwork, nomination form, and check in to Kari Pitchko PRIOR TO the assembly 2018 SESLYO Assembly Registration Kari Pitchko 132 Parkview Drive Meridianville AL 35759 If you have registration questions please email, call or text Kari Pitchko tkpitchko@gmail.com or (256) 698-1868
