These youth are just completing a weekend retreat in Montreat.) ^PRAYER OF CONFESSION (All) O God, you delight in creation its color and diversity. You have brought order out of chaos, light into darkness, and good out of evil. We confess that we have preferred darkness in words and deeds that dishonor your holy name. You have showered us with blessings, but we have been grudging towards others and lacking in generosity and understanding. Our simple prayer is Lord, have mercy. (Silent personal confession) MUSICAL RESPONSE (All) (see insert, page 1) Kyrie Eleison (sung responsorially) music from Iona, Scotland ^ASSURANCE OF PARDON ^CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE (All) (see insert, page 1) Alleluia music from Iona, Scotland ^PASSING OF THE PEACE Since God has forgiven us, we are free to forgive each other. The Great Thanksgiving Leader: The God of love be with you. People: And also with you. Leader: Lift up your hearts. People: We lift them to the Lord. Leader: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. People: It is right to give God thanks and praise. Leader: Great Creator Spirit, from whom all life comes forth, here we gather again with bread and with wine, seeking your presence, longing once more to be nourished. People: We hunger for wholeness in our lives, for unity on earth and for peace among the nations. And we know that only in your love can such peace and unity be found. And so with all that we are and all that we can give, we join with all of creation as we sing your praises: Sanctus 2
