Advisers: Dr. H. This research is aimed at finding whether there is the effec tof listen, read, discuss strategy on reading comprehension in recount text at grade eight of SMPN 1 Kramatwatu kab. Serang-Banten. This research was conducted of students at the eighth grade (VIII) SMPN 1 Kramatwatu kab. Serang-Banten.in the first semester in 2016 years of study. The method of this research is Quasi Experiment Design. The samples are taken through cluster random sampling. The samples were two classes consisting of 32 students as experiment class and 32 students as control class. And the total of sampling students is 64 students from class eight of B and C. The class B is as experimental class and class of C is control class. And the class which given the treatment is class of B, while the control class is class of C and it did not give the treatment or without treatment. The researcher did the experiment research in the school because the student s almost have low score under KKM, and they less prior knowledge and felt difficult understanding the vocabularies. That s why the researcher gave the L-R-D strategy to improve their reading comprehension. And this strategy give the better effect for the students of experimental class, they got the higher score after giving the treatment. The instrument is given to the sample class or experiment, then it is analyzed to find out whether the instrument is valid or invalid The result of the final test is analyzed using Anova one way on level significance of 0,05 and for the analysis regulation. The result of data analysis using SPSS based Anova show sig. 1.99 < 0,05. Therefore, based on the research finding, H a is accepted and H o is rejected. The acceptance of H a and the rejection of H o lead to the conclusion that there is significant effect of using Listen, Read, Discuss Strategy on reading comprehension in recount text at grade eight of SMPN 1 Kramatwatu Serang-Banten. Keywords :Listen, Read, Discuss strategy and Reading Comprehension ii
