Rethinking Ministry A Ministry of TransForming, ReCovering, ReVisioning, and ReNewing I invite you to join me as I seek God first in this holy calling. This is a calling that is audacious, yet very much obtainable by the Grace of God. I believe God has given me a significant vision for our beloved Communion The African Methodist Episcopal Church which exemplifies a ministry that TransForms, ReCovers, ReVisions, and ReNews the life of the AME Church. Our platform offers innovative ideas that will stimulate church growth, retention, and vitality. Together, let us rethink how we view and do ministry.

Can You Imagine The Church... TransForming? TransForming the areas we are called to serve. The vocation of the ministry and the calling of the church are about transforming the lives of people and communities in which we are planted to do ministry. Social Justice Advocacy Economic Empowerment Entrepreneurship Opportunities Community Transformation thru Non-Profits/501 (c) 3 Organizations Fostering Community and Corporate Partnerships Expansion of Health Initiatives Active Participation and Leadership in Ecumenical Affairs Can e n i g a m Yo u I

Can You Imagine The Church... ReCovering? ReCovering the richness of the church, realizing that Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, thus, enabling us to engage in cutting edge ministry from a more relevant perspective by supporting and encouraging ministries with intentional efforts to fostering evangelization and discipleship in the AME Church. Emphasis on Spiritual Formation and Holy Spirit-led Worship Relevant and Transformative Training in Church Growth and Vitality Reaching New People (Seeking Un-churched and De-churched People) Effective Models of Christian Discipleship Inclusion of Youth and Young Adults in Church Life Innovative Teaching of Polity, History, and Fresh Ideas for Ministry Empowerment of Laity Can

Can You Imagine Can You Imagine The Church.. ReVisioning? ReVisioning how we view and do ministry. Healthy congregations look toward growth, development, and the future rather than the past. Organizational life cycles run about five to eight year segments and revisioning must take place to the end of each cycle or stagnation and death sets in. Revisioning does not throw out the proverbial baby with the bath water, but allows the AME Church to grow, to retool, and to meet the challenges of a changing world with intentionality. Improve Fiscal Stewardship, Management, Transparency, and Accountability Strengthen and Support Theological Education and Scholarship from local to connectional levels of the church Clergy/Pastoral Training, Support, Evaluation, and Accountability for Effectiveness Transparency and Fairness of Pastoral Appointment Making Process Strong and Unwavering Support of Episcopal Districts 14-20 Strategic Planning and Development for Episcopal Districts Aggressive Use of Technology and Social Media At Every Level of the Church Ensure Equal Access for Women in Ministry to Serve and Lead Develop a process to assist chaplains returning to the parish ministry Mobilizing our chaplains to address real world events such as grief counseling after the Emanuel Nine Massacre Increasing the use of chaplains as a training resource on all levels of our church, but especially on the Annual Conference level Care and Support for Clergy and their families International Missions and Outreach

Can You Imagine The Church...Re Newing? ReNewing And be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind (Romans 12:2) Allowing God to do a new thing, an affirmation of the faith, gifts, energy, and fresh ideas of all people, especially our members forty and under. It is a Christ-Centered vision. A ministry and mission that have been given by the Lord Jesus. Plant New Churches in New Places (Growing communities and cities) Train Church Planters/New Pastors with new strategies for church planting and growth. Support Church Plants with significant funding, resources, and partnerships Strategically assess churches within annual conferences for closures, merging, relocation, and/or assigning to them circuits for greater ministry productivity Appointment of an Episcopal District Development Officer or Company to write grant proposals to the government, foundations, and/or philanthropists to support the work of the church. Develop creative and non-traditional ways of generating income to invest back into our local churches. Recruit high quality higher education professionals and development officers to better manage and grow our AME sponsored college, universities, and seminaries. Recruit qualified people with significant resources, political influence, and established wealth or assets to sit on the Board of Trustees at our institutions of higher education.
