June 12, 2016 11:00 a.m. We welcome you to worship with us this morning, as we gather in community to draw closer to God, made known in Christ. We pray you will know the presence of the Lord, through our worship, and through the work of the Spirit. We invite you to take these moments before worship to calm your hearts and minds, and open yourself to the quiet stillness of the presence of God! Call to Worship One: In the morning, O Lord, you hear our prayers. All: In the light of this day we praise your name. One: Through the abundance of your steadfast love you have gathered us into your house. All: In the holiness of your presence, we bow down to worship and adore you. *Opening Hymn #4 Holy God, We Praise Your Name Prayer of Confession (in unison) Gracious God, you know what kind of people we are. We judge others harshly and fail to see our own sin. We look with suspicion and fear, and neglect to show hospitality to strangers. We treasure things that are worthless and squander your precious gifts. We withhold the grace and love that you give us so freely. Forgive us. Pour out your grace upon us to save us from our sin. Amen. (A Moment of Silent Confession) Promise of God s Forgiveness One: Hear the good news of the gospel: All: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven, healed, and made whole. One: Know that we have been forgiven, and be at peace! All: The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting. Amen! *Congregational Response (Hymn #581) The Giving of our Tithes, Gifts & Selves to God - Offertory Congregational Response (Hymn #606) *Prayer of Dedication WE ENCOUNTER GOD S WORD Time for Children Junior Sermon Megan Cashing Children ages 3 1 st Grade are invited to Junior Church after the anthem; Worship Boards are on the front pew for older youth. Choral Anthem You Are My Shelter Prayer for Illumination (unison) Gracious Lord, open our ears that we might hear your Word to us this day, and follow where it leads us. Open our eyes, that we might witness you in the world and proclaim your presence with joy. For the glory of your Kingdom, we pray. Amen.

Foster II, Graduate Class of 2016, PGHS Presbyterian Women WE RESPOND TO GOD S WORD *We Affirm Our Faith We confess and acknowledge one God alone, to whom alone we must cleave, whom alone we must serve, whom only we must worship, and in whom alone we put our trust. Who is eternal, infinite, immeasurable, incomprehensible, omnipotent, invisible; one in substance and yet distinct in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. By whom we confess and believe all things in heaven and earth, visible and invisible, to have been created, to be retained in their being, and to be ruled and guided by His inscrutable providence for such end as His eternal wisdom, goodness, and justice have appointed, and to the manifestation of His own glory. Amen. [from The Scots Confession] Prayers of the People & Lord s Prayer One: Lord, in your mercy, All: Hear our prayers. *Departing Hymn #182 I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say *Blessing One: We have been blessed! All: We have met for divine worship, as God s people. One: We have been blessed! All: Our sins have truly been forgiven. One: We have been blessed! All: We go out into the world as the body of Christ, bearing the good news of the gospel. We are blessed, indeed. Amen! *Pastoral Benediction *Choral Benediction & Postlude
