Following is the Biblical study answering the above questions and much more. The calculation is based on the exact numbers of years that has been given in the Bible. Starting from the creation and the beginning of Adam to the Exit from Egypt and upto the entrance in the promise land. Note: Please keep in mind that the Bold Numbers are the numbers to be calculated for the calculation of the timeline. The rest of the numbers and information are for our understanding and knowledge. Calculating from Adam to the birth of Noah Adam beget Seth at 130 years and after Seth was born Adam lived 800 years and he died at 930 years. (Genesis 5:3-5) Seth beget Enos at 105 years and after Enos was born Seth lived 807 years and he died at 912 years. (Genesis 5:6-8) Enos beget Cainan at 90 years and after Cainan was born Enos lived 815 years and he died at 905 years. (Genesis 5:9-11) Cainan beget Mahalaleel at 70 years and after Mahalaleel was born Cainan lived 840 years and he died at 910. (Genesis 5:12-14) Mahalaleel beget Jared at 65 years and after Jared was born Mahalaleel lived 830 years and he died at 895 years. (Genesis 5:15-17) Jared beget Enoch at 162 years and after Jared was born Jared lived 800 years and he died at 965 years. (Genesis 5:18-20) Enoch beget Methuselah at 65 years and after Methuselah was born Enoch walked with God for 300 years and all the days of Enoch were 365 years.(genesis 5:21-23) Methuselah beget Lamech at 187 years and after Lamech was born Methuselah lived 782 years and he died at 969 years. (Genesis 5:25-27) Lamech beget Noha at 182 years and after Noha was born Lamech lived 595 years and he died at 777 years. (Genesis 5:28-31) Calculating all the above bold figures we can get in which year Noah was born.
130 + 105 + 90 + 70 + 65 + 162 + 65 + 187 + 182 = 1056 So Noah was born at 1056 years. So we can also understand that Adam lived till 930 years and Noah was born at 1056 years. So if we subtract 930 years from 1056 we get the difference between Adam and Noah. 1056 930 = 126. So we have found that after Adam died just after 126 years Noah was born. So Adam lived till the times of Lamech who was the father of Noah and Lamech was 56 years of age when Adam died. Enoch was caught up in heaven in the year 987. Adam died at 930. So after the death of Adam after 50 years Enoch was caught up in heaven. Now let us go ahead Calculating from Noah to the birth of Abraham Noah beget Shem, Ham and Japheth at 500 years. (Genesis 5:32) Noah was 600 years when the flood of waters was upon the earth. (Genesis 7:6) Noah was born at 1056 years and when he was 600 years the flood of the waters was upon the earth. So by adding 1056 to 600 we get the year of the flood of waters. 1056 + 600 = 1656 Here we get that after 1656 years the flood came upon the earthjust after 726 years after Adam died. After Lamech the father of Noah died and after 5 years flood came. Now let us go ahead After the flood Noah lived 350 years and Noah died at 950 years. (Genesis 9:28) Shem beget Arphaxad after 2 years of the flood. (Genesis 11:10)
Arphaxad beget Salah at 35years and after Salah was born Arphaxad lived 403 years and he died at 438 years. (Genesis 11:12-13) Salah beget Eber at 30 years and after Eber was born Salah lived 403 years and he died at 433 years. (Genesis 11:14) Eber beget Peleg at 34 years and after Peleg was born Eber lived 430 years and he died at 464 years. (Genesis 11:16-17) Peleg beget Reu at 30years and after Reu was born Peleg lived 209 years and he died at 239 years. (Genesis 11:18-19) Reu beget Serug at 32years and after Serug was born Reu lived 207 years and he died at 239 years. (Genesis 11:20-21) Serug beget Nahor at 30 years and after Nahor was born Serug lived 200 years and he died at 230 years. (Genesis 11:22-23) Nahor beget Terah at 29 years and after Terah was born Nahor lived 119 years and he died at 148 years. (Genesis 11:24-25) Terah beget Abram, Nahor and Haran at 70 years and the years of Terah were 205 and he died. (Genesis 11:26,32) Now calculating all the above bold figures we get the number of years when Abraham was born after the flood. 2+35+30+34+30+32+ 30+29+70 =292 So after the flood after 292 years Abraham was born. Let us go ahead Calculating from Abraham to the Exit from Egypt God spoke to Abraham and Abraham came out of Haran towards the Journey to Canaan at that time Abraham was 75 years. (Genesis 12:1-4)
When Ishmael was born to Abraham through Hagar Abraham was 86 years old. (Genesis 16:16) When Abraham was 99 years old and God again visited him. (Genesis 17:1) Abraham was 100 years and Sarah was 90 years when they begat Isaac. (Genesis 17:17) Sarah died at 127 years. (Genesis 23:1) Abraham died at 175 years. (Genesis 25:7) After Sarah died after 3 years and Abraham was 140 Isaac was 40 and Isaacgot married with Rebecca. (Genesis 25:20) Isaac beget Esau and Jacob at 60 years. (Genesis 25:26) and Isaac died at the age of 180 years. (Genesis 35:28) Joseph was 17 years old when he got the dreams and when he went out in search of his brothers. (Genesis Ch. 37) When Joseph stood before Pharaoh King of Egypt he was 30 years old. (Genesis41:46) So subtracting 17 out of 30 we find how much time Joseph spent in Egypt as slave and prisoner. 30-17 = 13 So Joseph spent 13 years in Egypt before he became the ruler of Egypt. After the 7 years of fullness passed and then came 7 years of dryness. When Jacob came to Egypt and when he stood before pharaoh king of Egypt he was 130 years old.(genesis 47:7-10) When Jacob stood before Pharaoh and when he was 130 years at that time Joseph must be 40 years old because when he stood before pharaoh he was 30 + 7 years of fullness and round about 3 years of dryness when his brothers came in search of food in Egypt and thereafter Jacob came to Egypt. So when Jacob was at 130 Joseph must be at 40. So we can find out that Joseph was born to Jacob round about when Jacob was at the age of 90.
Jacob came to Egypt at 130 and then lived in Egypt for another 17 years in Egypt and he was 147 and he fell on death bed he blessed his sons and he died. (Genesis 47:28-29, 49:33) Joseph lived 110 years and he died. (Genesis 50:22, 26) Joseph stood before pharaoh at 30 years and he died at 110.So he lived as ruler and next to the king for 80 years. Thereafter Moses was born and when he stood before Pharaoh he was 80 years old and Aaron was 83 years old. (Exodus 7:7) The Israelites Journeyed in Egypt for 430 years and the came out of Egypt at the end of 430 years. (Exodus 12:41) In the very 1styear after the exit from Egypt after 3 months on the same day Moses went up to Sinai (Exodus 19:1-3) and there the LORD talked with him and he began to start writing the Torah that is the first five books of the Bible. Now let us calculate from Abraham to the exit from Egypt. Abraham beget Isaac at 100 years. Isaac beget Jacob at 60 years. Jacob stood before Pharaoh at 130years. The Israelites Journeyed in Egypt for 430 years. 100 + 60 + 130 + 430 = 720 Now let us calculate from Adam to Mount Sinai to find out when did Moses started writing the first five books of the Bible. For these calculations we will add all the bold and underlined numbers. Adam to the flood it is 1656 years. After flood Abraham was born after 292 years.
Abraham to the exit from Egypt it is 720 years. 1656 + 292 + 720 =2668 So after 2668 years from Adam the Israelites came out of Egypt. Moses went on Mount Sinai after 2668 years and in the year 2669. Moses went on the Mount Sinai and there the Lord gave him the commandments and there he started writing the first five books of the Bible. To find out the year in B.C. we will have to subtract it from 4000 (Round about total period of the Old Testament) because B.C. is calculated in the descending order. If we subtract 2669 from 4000 we get the year in B.C. 4000 2669 = 1331 BC So the Old Testament of the Bible began to be written at 1331 B.C. The Israelites wandered in the wilderness for 40 years and after 2708 years the Israelites entered the promises land. That is in 1292 B.C.
