WHAT S THE READING ON YOUR COMPASSION METER NOW?
Lamentations 3:21 Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Lamentations 3:22 Because of the Lord s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. Lamentations 3:23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

ISN T IT AMAZING HOW CERTAIN BITS OF INFORMATION CAN REALLY DO A NUMBER ON YOUR COMPASSION?
John 8:2 At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them.
John 8:3-4 The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4 and said to Jesus, Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery.
John 8:3-4 The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4 and said to Jesus, Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery.
Jesus taught that God s Law was intended to lift people up, not tear em down.
John 8:5 In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women.
Leviticus 20:10 If a man commits adultery with another man s wife both the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death. Deuteronomy 22:23 If a man happens to meet in a town a virgin pledged to be married and he sleeps with her, 24 you shall take both of them to the gate of that town and stone them to death.
John 8:5-6 In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say? 6 They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.
Deuteronomy 17:6 On the testimony of two or three witnesses a man shall be put to death, but no one shall be put to death on the testimony of only one witness.
How likely is it that two people could actually eyewitness adultery?
HOW LONG DID THOSE EYEWITNESSES WITNESS BEFORE THEY FINALLY BARGED IN?
If Jesus said, Stone her, He d fly in the face of Roman Law.
If Jesus said, Release her. He d violate the Law of Moses.
Jesus diverted attention from her. John 8:6 But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger.
James 2:10 For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.
Sin isn t sin because of what it does to God. Sin is sin because it hurts me.
John 8:7-8 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her. 8 Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.
JESUS said that, not her!
John 8:9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there.
Jesus verdict on her life:
Jesus verdict on her life: John 8:10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?
Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Jesus verdict on her life: John 8:11 No one, sir, she said.
Jesus verdict on her life: John 8:11 No one, sir, she said. Then neither do I condemn you, Jesus declared. Go now and leave your life of sin.
Neither do I condemn you. [John 8:11b]
Jesus verdict on her life: John 8:11 No one, sir, she said. Then neither do I condemn you, Jesus declared. Go now and leave your life of sin.
Jesus verdict on her life: Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you? neither do I condemn you, Go now and leave your life of sin.
CORRECTING WRONG ALWAYS STARTS WITH FORGIVENESS and never a rebuke.
Galatians 6:1 Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently.
Sometimes we are so bent on being right with God that we are WRONG in the way we deal with God s people.
FIRST, forgive. THEN, correct.
NEVER FORGET THAT CONDEMNING WRONG IS JESUS JOB [and not yours].
Romans 8:31 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:34 Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died more than that, who was raised to life is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.
Whenever you take just one step toward Jesus, even if it s a halting, uncertain step HIS MERCY COMES RUNNING!
Revelations 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
Instead of embracing words that have enormous power to CRUSH your spirit and grind you into spiritual despair listen, instead, to words that possess a far greater power you need to LIFT your spirit.
You are WAY worse than you ever dared to think you are yet more infinitely loved you ever dared to hope.
