Series: A Study of the Revelation of Jesus Christ

What really happens when you take part in the first resurrection and when? Christians are guilty of using precepts from the Bible and taking them out of context then creating a whole belief system that s untrue. What is this error that I speak of? It is the belief that your flesh and blood body will be resurrected from the grave. You could enter into heaven thinking my dead body will soon follow yet it is better that you know the truth for the more you know the truth the easier it will be for you to understand the whole word of God. Its Gods desire for you to understand His word as He intended. It will be good to enter into heaven knowing what is coming and what will be happening as you arrive. What is this scripture that has caused so much confusion and misunderstanding it s a number of scriptures or precepts that Christians link together so as to gain understanding of the first resurrection. First on the list is First Corinthians 15/51-53 let s read those scriptures first then talk about their meaning. First Cor.15/51 Behold I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed- 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: Death is swallowed up in victory. Christians use this scripture to understand when the resurrection will take place and what will happen at that time- this is the beginning of the error I speak of. In the passages we just read Paul gives us a very detailed description of what happens at the end of the sixth year of the tribulation period. We know it s the end of the sixth year of the tribulation period because Paul says at the last trumpet. In the Bible during the seven years of the tribulation period there are seven angels with seven trumpets as the first angel sounds his trumpet this starts the first year of the tribulation period. Each following angel sounds his trumpet at the beginning of each of the following years of the tribulation period. So the last angel sounds his trumpet at the beginning of the seventh year of the tribulation or as the sixth year of the tribulation period comes to an end. This is the point where Christians fall into butchering the scriptures to make their case. We know the wedding of Jesus Christ and His bride is a seven year long celebration for the church is not appointed unto God s wrath and the church is removed from the earth sometime during the first day of the tribulation period. To understand all the details on this read the paper about the Doors on this web site. So to make this scripture bend to that understanding one has to ignore Paul s writing when he say s at the last trumpet. By butchering this scripture the outcomes leads us to a great misunderstanding of what is about to take place at the end of the sixth year of the tribulation period and leads people to believe their dead bodies will be raised up. Jesus when He rose from the dead some two thousand years ago was the first fruit of the first resurrection and we know from scripture that His body would not see corruption Psalm 16/10. But as for all the other people who would be entering into heaven their bodies would indeed see corruption from dust we were made and to dust our old bodies will return. If one is going to enter into heaven you must be born again of the Holy Spirit and receive a new Spiritual body. This is the change that causes people to butcher the scriptures. In fear of this change I.E.

going from a flesh and blood body to a spiritual body people will believe anything to hang onto the old rather than trusting in what God has given us in the scriptures concerning the coming new spiritual body. Paul was very concise and to the point on this matter. Let s read First Corinthians 15/42-54. 1 st Cor.15/42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption. 43 It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. 44 It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 45 And so it is written, The first man Adam became a living being. The last Adam became a life giving spirit. 46 However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural and afterward the spiritual. 47 The first Man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven. 48 As was the man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust; and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly. 49 And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man. 50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. If you want to understand the scriptures you must believe the scriptures are true and God can do anything, nothing is too hard for God. In Isaiah 28/9-10 God gives us instructions on how to read and understand the Bible. Isa. 28/9-10, 9 Whom will he teach knowledge? And whom will he make to understand the message? Those just weaned from milk? Those just drawn from the breasts? 10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line, line upon line, Here a little, there a little. We must believe God and His word if we are to understand what the scriptures are telling us. The above mentioned scriptures in Isaiah tell us of Elijah sealing the 144,000 for Jesus at the beginning of the tribulation period but we can and should use the same guidelines as we read the Bible. We have to look at all the scriptures and the facts contained within them as precepts. Every precept in the Bible is perfect and unchangeable all the precepts in the Bible fit together perfectly and stand forever Psalm 119 if you have a situation where the precepts don t line up then your train of thought is wrong. As soon as you have to add or take away from the word of God to support your train of thought you are in error. That being said, don t hang onto the idea that your old body will someday be resurrected from the grave. When you die at that moment your born again spirit will be given a new spiritual body and you will go to be with the Lord in the Fathers house where Jesus has gone to prepare a place for you. As Paul said to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. The moment we die in Jesus Christ we take part in the first resurrection the moment we die we are given our new spiritual bodies and Jesus raises us up at the last day of our lives and into the Fathers house where Jesus has gone to prepare a place for us. There is a fleshly resurrection for the Jews since God used the Jews as a teaching example for the gentiles and He blinded them from knowing their Messiah for the last two thousand years. God blesses them double and resurrects the whole house of Israel so they will have a chance to come to the Lord Jesus and be born again, God also has a lot of promises to fulfill that He made to the Jewish people. In Ezekiel 37 God tells us of the whole house of Israel being brought back to life and given the land that He promised them in times past He even names David as the prince who will rule during the millennial reign of Christ. For those who are thinking quickly yes the millennial reign of Jesus is mainly for the Jews. Although there will be all the tribulation saints on the earth for the millennial reign they will be there to help raise all the children of the

world that disappeared when the first door or when the church is taken up into heaven. When the Church is removed from the earth all the children nineteen years and younger will also be removed from the earth. Not just children of believers I mean all the children of the whole world. The children are not old enough to make eternal decisions so they are removed from the earth and after the seven years of the tribulation period are over the children will be brought back to the earth. God is always perfectly fair in His decisions and judgments. Those who want to claim the millennial reign is for Christians have only to look to the scriptures the church age and the fullness of the gentiles comes to an end with the culmination of the tribulation period. If you read in Isaiah towards the end of Isaiah in two places or more it says the children of those who oppressed the Jews would be back on the earth with the Jews. I want to stick to the subject of resurrection so I m not going get into a lengthy explanation at this time about the children of the world missing the tribulation period that paper is coming soon God willing. You are probably thinking to yourself ok if the passages in first Corinthians 15/51-54 do indeed happen as it says at the last trumpet explain please. If you have read the second larger paper on this web site about the doors most of what I m about to say has already been explained in finer detail so I will be brief as I can. God has given most if not all the prophets of the Bible parts and pieces of a mystery, a mystery that is meant to come to light now, in Revelation 10-7 God tells us that as the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet this mystery that God gave to the prophets would be complete. Paul tells us in first Corinthians 15/ 51-52 a small part of that mystery- Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed-52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. As we saw earlier Christians try to bend this scripture so as to place this event at the beginning of the tribulation period ignoring the obvious problem Paul told us this event happens at the end of the sixth year of the tribulation period. Now for some answers when Jesus talked about the church being removed from the earth He didn t call it the rapture the word rapture was coined for lack of understanding Jesus called it the door or doors depending on the scriptures and He told us to Watch for each of the three doors and be ready to go when the first second or third doors are opened. In Revelation 3/7-8-10 He said And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, These things says He who is holy, He who is true, He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens : 8 I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name. Rev.3/10 Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. This open door that Lord Jesus has placed before the church of Philadelphia is the first door of three given to the world during the first six years of the tribulation period. The second door happens at the middle of the tribulation period and is for a group of non believing Jews. In Revelation 12/14 it says, But the women was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent. The women in this scripture is the Jewish remnant they are lifted into the air with no visible means of support and flown into the wilderness, the valley of Achor to be exact for the last three and a half years of the tribulation period. Now for the

third door the one that is so misunderstood and has caused such a huge misunderstanding with so many Christians. The third door is when the tribulation saints are taken into heaven and then the 144,000 who remain on the earth are also taken up into heaven and least we forget the two witnesses who are killed by the second beast three and a half days earlier they also are allowed to enter into heaven as the sixth year of the tribulation period comes to an end. When Paul writes in First Corinthians 15/51-52, 51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed- 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. The dead who will be given their new spiritual bodies just before the sounding of the last trumpet are all the people who became born again Christians during the tribulation period. From day one of the tribulation period till the end of the sixth year of the tribulation period all the people who will be martyred for their faith in Lord Jesus during the first six years of the tribulation period will have to wait on the earth under the altar until the full number of their fellow saints who are to be martyred or beheaded as they were is complete. In Revelation 6/9-11 John speaks of these people Rev. 6/9 When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth? 11 Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed. This takes place when the fifth seal is opened at the end of the fifth year of the tribulation period. The souls under the altar have one more year to wait until they are taken up into heaven then they will take part in the last year of the Lords and their wedding celebration. They will also be part of the last group of people who will take part in the first resurrection. The third door happens as the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet. During the tribulation period all the people who receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior will be martyred for their faith in Jesus but they are not allowed to enter into heaven their spirits must remain on the earth under the altar until the end of the sixth year of the tribulation period is complete. This is a unique situation and only happens to those who are born again and martyred for their faith in Jesus during the tribulation period. If you were to die of natural causes before the start of the tribulation period and you are a born again Christian you would receive your new spiritual body and go straight into heaven taking part in the first resurrection. For those who die in Christ during the tribulation period they must wait until the full number of their fellow believers in Christ who will be beheaded as they were is complete before they are allowed into heaven to take part in the last year of the Lords and their wedding celebration. At the same time when the tribulation saints are taken into heaven the 144,000 young Jewish male children and young men will also be taken up into heaven. In First Corinthians 15/52 the last part says and we shall be changed this refers to the 144,000 being taken up into heaven and changed into their new spiritual bodies. They will redeem their old flesh and blood bodies for their new spiritual bodies as they ascend into heaven. The two witnesses James & John the sons of thunder will also go up into heaven at this time and be given their new spiritual bodies. This is the third door that takes place at the end of the sixth year of the tribulation period. Unfortunately for the last two thousand years people

have bent this scripture and tried to make it mean something it was never meant to. The dead bodies of all the saints who have died in times past will stay dust they will not be resurrected at the last trumpet or any other trumpet. Rev.20/4-5 And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years 5 But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished this is the first resurrection. Here John is showing us the end of the first resurrection and the only people mentioned are the tribulation saints those who were martyred for their faith in Jesus during the tribulation period. No one else is mentioned because everyone who has died in Christ before the beginning of the tribulation period has already taken part in the first resurrection. The tribulation saints, the 144,000 and James & John are the last group of people to take part in the first resurrection. John 4/23-24 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth. This passage doesn t mean when your flesh and blood you worship the Father in a spiritual attitude or feeling the spirit. It means just what it says God is a Spirit Being and if you want to worship Him eternally you must also be a spirit being. Jesus said John 14/6 Jesus said to him I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. If we are to enter into heaven we all must be born again in Lord Jesus then when we are one with Jesus we are also in truth and in our new spiritual bodies. For the Father is Spirit if we desire to worship the Father we must also be spirit not flesh and blood. To God be the glory! for He is the one who gives understanding and wisdom and life He is the Teacher of all our Lord and Father, In our beloved Lord Jesus we give you thanks almighty God.
