November 22, 2015 11:00 a.m. We welcome you to worship with us this morning, as we gather in community to draw closer to God, made known in Christ. We pray you will know the presence of the Lord, through our worship, and through the work of the Spirit. We invite you to take these moments before worship to calm your hearts and minds, and open yourself to the quiet stillness of the presence of God! GOD GATHERS THE PEOPLE Prelude Sandra Perkins & Gail Rollings Chiming of the Hour Welcome & Announcements Passing of the Peace Rev. Jason N. Cashing Sharing of Joys & Concerns

Call to Worship One: God established the world from of old. All: God s reign shall never end! One: God delivered us in freedom and truth. All: God s love is everlasting! One: God sent Jesus into the world to lead us in the Kingdom of God. All: Praise and thanks to our Lord, our King! *Opening Hymn #267 Come, Christians, Join to Sing Prayer of Confession (in unison) Holy One, we dare to call you Lord, but yield to you only fragments of our lives. You had nowhere to lay your head; we surround ourselves with comfort. We expect to serve you with what remains after we have indulged our desires. Forgive our greed, our lack of trust, our desire to pick the times and places we will respond to our call. In your abundant mercy, teach us what it means to follow, even at the cost of our lives. Amen. (A Moment of Silent Confession) Promise of God s Forgiveness One: Hear the good news of the gospel: All: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven, healed, and made whole. One: Know that we have been forgiven, and be at peace! All: The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting. Amen! *Congregational Response (Hymn #581) The Giving of our Tithes, Gifts, & Selves to God Offertory Congregational Response (Hymn #606) *Prayer of Dedication WE ENCOUNTER GOD S WORD Time for Children Junior Sermon Megan Cashing (Children ages 3 1 st Grade are invited to Junior Church after the anthem; Worship Boards are on the front pew for older youth.) Scripture 1 st Reading: 2 Samuel 23: 1-7 p261 2 nd Reading: John 18: 33-37 p881 Sermon Last Words Rev. Jason N. Cashing *Reflective Hymn #307 God of Grace and God of Glory WE RESPOND TO GOD S WORD *We Affirm Our Faith Almighty God, who raised Jesus Christ from the dead and set him above all rule and authority, has given to him all power in heaven and on earth, not only in this age but also in the age to come. God has put all things under the Lordship of Jesus Christ and has made Christ Head of the Church, which is his body. The Church s life and mission are a joyful participation in Christ s ongoing life and work In Christ all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through Christ God reconciles all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of the cross. In Christ s name, therefore, the Church is sent out to bear witness to the good news of reconciliation with God, with others, and with all creation. In Christ the Church receives its truth and appeal, its holiness, and its unity. (from The Book of Order, F-1.0201, F-1.0205) Prayers of the People & Lord s Prayer One: Lord, in your mercy, All: Hear our prayers. *Departing Hymn #269 Lead On, O King Eternal! *Blessing One: We have been blessed! All: We have met for divine worship, as God s people. One: We have been blessed! All: Our sins have truly been forgiven. One: We have been blessed! All: We go out into the world as the body of Christ, bearing the good news of the gospel. We are blessed, indeed. Amen! *Pastoral Benediction *Choral Benediction & Postlude
