I strongly believe that no one is born with a silver spoon. But the truth is that all of us are designed to be winners and achievers. It is all a matter of perception. If we really introspect, we are sure to discover the hidden treasure. We will surely realize that we are better than what we think ourselves to be, and this is the first step we need to take towards becoming a winner and an achiever! It was a summer evening which changed my perspective of the people. The busy road and the flying dust surrounded me as I waited for the bus that would take me home. My stopping was peculiar to only a few buses and I had to sometimes wait a long time. I shifted from one foot on to another as my heavy bag started to show it s mighty power on my shoulders. I was already late,as I had gone out to eat with my friends and the lack of buses was leading me to frustration and anger. I decided against taking auto as I wanted to save money for my expenses. The sun had started to set, starting vibrations in the pit of my stomach due to fear of the scoldings I will get, once I reach home. I was desperately calling all Gods when I noticed an old woman walking back and forth along the bus stop. I didn t say anything but I couldn t help wonder her story. I have always been observant, and to guess people s stories interests me. After a few minutes of drawing theories, I decided to make talk. Waiting for bus, paati?, I asked. Ofcourse, she was. That could be the dumbest question ever. Yes, dear. Where do you want to go?, she asked. Nearby only, Ilied, the warning of talking to strangers ringing in my head. For all I know, thispaati could be the mafia queen or a kidnapper, I wasn t taking chances. Do you always go out this late? she asked. Warning bells drummed in my head. No, paati. My dad has work in the station today, he s an inspector, yousee, so. More lies. You can t scare people more other than by being a police officer s daughter, well, army counts. Okay, dear. I will go sit, can you please tell me when the bus to C.M.B.T comes? she requested. I accepted,as there were many buses to her destination. And immediately a white-boarded bus to C.M.B.T came. ESSENCE OF LIFE 10 I called her, but she didn t board the bus. I asked why. The ticket is pricey, dear. I will go in a ordinary one, she said. It hit me,then.i wanted to know what would make a sixty-year old lady wait for a bus late in the evening.i couldn t shake the feeling that a mere extra five rupees is a luxury to her. I felt so sad. Just like that, she told me about her story. She was a daily worker in a nearby construction site, whose house is far way and she usually has to search jobs. She kept worrying about her granddaughter being alone, as her son had died recently and her daughter-in law was sick. Somewhere along this world, there I was, listening to someone s story. I was so touched, because never have I ever connected to a stranger. I told her to sit and I would call her if the bus came, unfortunately for another halfhour it didn t. But, two buses to my destination arrived. Yet, I couldn t leave the paatialone, I waited with her. Each time she asked about my bus, I would deflect or lie, I didn t want her to know I was staying for her, she wouldn t let me. After another quarter hour of waiting, she decided to take the deluxe bus, tired. But, it spricey, na? What can I do, dear?. It s okay, I will save my 30 tomorrow, she laughed. The bus arrived and I helped her with her cloth sack. As she was walking towards the bus, I stopped her. Paati, you dropped your money Thank God,what would I have done! she heaved a relief. She kissed me in the cheek and rushed to the bus. That night, I slept peacefully with a sense of satisfaction in my heart. I wonder if she knew I had cheated her into taking money. I smiled. A. NATURE -OUR ENVIRONMENT Plastics are the enemies to environment.it may look quite useful, but wuth time it will only harm us and make made things.plastic bags, because of their nonbiodegradable nature have already cost us a losr, water lodging during rainy season due to this crops are destroyed in case of over flow of water, bad crops because of plastics in the soil, harms aquatic life if thrown in water and reduces the production of coal. They are bad, destructive, nonbiodegradble. The environment needs a lot of space which is to be nature just like us a lot of space which is to be nature just like us to work properly.the nature is a mirror that reflects what we do to it.because of well developed and modernization, there are not enough trees, villagers transformed into cities.to keep the environment to work properly and stay in balance.the one thing we should do it not to pollute it.today, the number one pollutant is plastics. Is it good or bad:- It is bad because it is not a natural products, though BUTTERFLY By A.JAYASHREE IX E it is used to do some good works and after use it can t be decomposed or burnt because both causes bad to environment.it cannot be destroyed,it can only be recycled and used for longer.and by using plastics for really long time is unhealthy as it attracts bacteria and causes people in sick. How can it be done? In India, Himachalpradesh which is probably the only state which has successfully discontinued using plastic bags.we need to stop using plastics because if you don t 10-100 years down the lane, the planet will not have any natural resource.eventually a day will come when 100 percent of people will be using a substitute for plastics and the world will still have some hope to cling on to I am not saying the problem will end,but the end of the problem will begin! My Vision Corruption free India My humble Namasthe and a very good morning to everyone present. I,B.Bhavadharani of class XII here to share my thoughts on my vision Corruption free India. Let me begin. Anti corruption: As a future citizen of our Indian nation I suppose this word is treated as an idea and not as a solution. Just adding four letters a n t I to the word corruption, it took us so long years. Now I think the time has come to make it vital. Let me commence with the thoughts that are pondering in my mind. Though many schemes and programmes have been put forth by the government, we could see no amendments in path of the life lead by common people. It is just same old independent life. No one would deny the fact that these are due to lack of transparency in our government. It is concealed, hidden among the so-called dignified people involved in corruption. Consequently no people are acquainted about the laws and rights properly. Even for getting a contract signed (or) a license to be sanctioned, corruption is indulged. More than anyone in the society the poor people are adversely affected due to this evil that tabes so many forms in every field. This mere condition of the people is caricatured by good opportunist in our society. Though it is illegal, it is lechecked and doesn t find any worthfull space in minds of the people. It is because the cleans ones are too few to raise a cry that can be heard. It flourishes due to lack of political will to tighten the noose around the corrupt. The silence and indifference of the people would silently encourage corruption. Talking about combating against the evil, proper education and awareness among the people is predominant. It can also be done by curtailing the roles of ministers in policies and increasing promoting the participation of individuals in every action. The laws and norms should be made austere enough. I strongly believe those who indulge in corruption irrespective of B.Bhavadharani XII-A Got 1 st prize in oratorical competition conducted by NLC position, caste, and grade in our society, should be legally penalized. The loyal and honest should be incentivated. Moreover, the very thought of common people persisting on the current political situation should be amended, influenced so as to increase the confidence on the political members and politics.i strongly believe that, to make all this come true we need a soul thirsty enough to bring a civilized nation besides all the commotion prevailing in our society. Precisely said an Ideological leader-need of an hour. Yes here is my vision towards corruption free India. Building a nation with not just the educated people but with ideological front runner. From my point of view, I would say that to put our thoughts into action first we need a spearhead that has different views, who has got a deep insatiable thirst of soul to build a nation with all the moral ethics it needed. Let us all try to be one among them. No pain no gain. Challenges are confronted day in and day out but its results would be worthwhile. Challenges do not occur to everybody. Only that whose life has a purpose on ideal to strive for and a mission to fulfill has the opportunity to face the challenges. In that case, as responsible citizens of our nation, it wholly represents us to face the challenges in combating against the corruption. Do not bend down for everything. Shake of all the fears, weaknesses, and cowardice, broaden your mind. Tear up the errands in your hands to make a corruption free India. It should not be just a striving of words, but a course of action. From now on let s wake up and enough is enough. As a future civilian of our nation, I invite you all to join with me in creating a new INDIA and to prove that corruption free India is possible. Let it start from now. 13

corruption. Those with money hold power, andreal issue that raises concern in India todayis the agony of all those Indians who are inadvertently victims of corruption. They are even deprived of basic amenities, due to some foul play. India is one among the democratic countries of the world, the very meaning of democracy is to the people, for the people, by the people, but does voting rights make any change? There are so many corrupt leaders who care nothing about the needs and heeds of the seeds of nation and just look to fill their pockets plenty. There is no discrimination,no majority or minority. Everyone gets an equal share of everything, government schemes reach not only those of power but every common man. For me,an ideal country is not a guileless, but a nation that is aware and fighting towards perfection. An ideal country is not without jails or criminals, but people and just laws to put the bad people behind bars. An ideal country lies in the balance of the good and bad, and the fire in the people s heart to give birth to a Nation of Glory and Pride. That is my vision for my Mother Nation. We all need to fight a hard battle to improve the things. Our politics needs to undergo chemotherapy.
