SUNDAY, DECEMBER 31, 2017 1 HARK! THE HERALD ANGELS SING Hark! the herald angels sing, "Glory to the newborn King; Peace on earth and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled!' Joyful, all ye nations rise, join the triumph of the skies; With th'angelic host proclaim, "Christ is born in Bethlehem!" Hark! the herald angels sing, "Glory to the newborn King." Christ, by highest heav'n adored; Christ, the everlasting Lord! Late in time behold Him come, offspring of the Virgin's womb: Veiled in flesh the Godhead see; Hail th'incarnate Deity, pleased as man with men to dwell, Jesus, our Emmanuel. Hark! the herald angels sing, "Glory to the newborn King." Hail the heav'n born Prince of Peace! Hail the Son of Righteousness! Light and life to all He brings, ris'n with healing in His wings. Mild He lays His glory by, born that man no more may die; Born to raise the sons of earth, born to give them second birth. Hark! the herald angels sing, "Glory to the newborn King." GOD MADE LOW Prophets promised long ago a King would come to bring us hope, and now a virgin bears a son: The time to save the world has come. Humble shepherds run in haste to see the One the angels praised. In cattle stall they find a girl who holds the Hope of all the world. Emmanuel has come to us. The Christ is born, Hallelujah! Our God made low to raise us up: Emmanuel has come to us. As He sleeps upon the hay, He holds the moon and stars in place. Though born an infant He remains the sovereign God of endless days. Emmanuel has come to us. The Christ is born, Hallelujah! Our God made low to raise us up: Emmanuel has come to us. For all our sins one day He ll die, to make us sons of God on high. Let every heart prepare him room: The promises have all come true. Emmanuel has come to us. The Christ is born, Hallelujah! Our God made low to raise us up: Emmanuel has come to us.
COME, THOU FOUNT OF EVERY BLESSING 2 Come, Thou Fount of ev'ry blessing, tune my heart to sing Thy grace; Streams of mercy, never ceasing, call for songs of loudest praise. Teach me some melodious sonnet sung by flaming tongues above. Praise His name; I'm fixed upon it: Name of God s redeeming love. Hither to Thy love has blest me, Thou hast brought me to this place, and I know Thy hand will bring me safely home by Thy good grace. Jesus sought me when a stranger wand'ring from the fold of God; He to rescue me from danger bought me with His precious blood. O to grace how great a debtor daily I'm constrained to be! Let Thy goodness, like a fetter bind my wand'ring heart to Thee: Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it; prone to leave the God I love; Here's my heart, O take and seal it, seal it for Thy courts above. Oh that day when freed from sinning, I shall see Thy lovely face. Full arrayed in blood-washed linen, how I'll sing Thy sovereign grace. Come, my Lord, no longer tarry, bring Thy promises to pass; For I know Thy pow'r will keep me till I'm home with Thee at last.
BY FAITH 3 By faith we see the hand of God in the light of creation s grand design; In the lives of those who prove His faithfulness, who walk by faith and not by sight. By faith our fathers roamed the earth with the power of His promise in their hearts Of a holy city built by God's own hand; A place where peace and justice reign. We will stand as children of the promise; we will fix our eyes on Him, our soul's reward. Till the race is finished and the work is done, we'll walk by faith and not by sight. By faith the prophets saw a day when the longed-for Messiah would appear with the power to break the chains of sin and death and rise triumphant from the grave. By faith the church was called to go in the power of the Spirit to the lost; To deliver captives and to preach good news in every corner of the earth. We will stand as children of the promise; we will fix our eyes on Him, our soul's reward. Till the race is finished and the work is done, we'll walk by faith and not by sight. By faith this mountain shall be moved and the power of the gospel shall prevail For we know in Christ all things are possible for all who call upon His name. We will stand as children of the promise; we will fix our eyes on Him, our soul's reward. Till the race is finished and the work is done, we'll walk by faith and not by sight. We will stand as children of the promise; we will fix our eyes on Him, our soul's reward. Till the race is finished and the work is done, we'll walk by faith and not by sight. We'll walk by faith and not by sight. We'll walk by faith and not by sight.
FOREVER 4 Give thanks to the Lord, our God and King, His love endures forever. For He is good, He is above all things. His love endures forever. Sing praise, sing praise. With a mighty hand and outstretched arm, His love endures forever. For the life that s been reborn, His love endures forever. Sing praise, sing praise, sing praise, sing praise. Forever God is faithful. Forever God is strong. Forever God is with us; Forever. Forever God is faithful. Forever God is strong. Forever God is with us; Forever. Forever. From the rising to the setting sun His love endures forever. and by the grace of God we will carry on. His love endures forever. Sing praise, sing praise, sing praise, sing praise. Forever God is faithful. Forever God is strong. Forever God is with us; Forever. Forever God is faithful. Forever God is strong. Forever God is with us; Forever. Forever. O CHURCH, ARISE O church, arise and put your armor on; hear the call of Christ our Captain. For now the weak can say that they are strong in the strength that God has given. With shield of faith and belt of truth we'll stand against the devil's lies; An army bold whose battle cry is "Love!" Reaching out to those in darkness. Our call to war, to love the captive soul, but to rage against the captor; And with the sword that makes the wounded whole, we will fight with faith and valor. When faced with trials on ev'ry side, we know the outcome is secure, and Christ will have the prize for which He died An inheritance of nations. Come, see the cross where love and mercy meet, as the Son of God is stricken; Then see His foes lie crushed beneath His feet, for the Conqueror has risen! And as the stone is rolled away, an angel says He is not here! This vict'ry march continues till the day ev'ry eye and heart shall see Him. So Spirit, come, put strength in ev'ry stride, give grace for ev'ry hurdle, that we may run with faith to win the prize of a servant good and faithful. As saints of old still line the way, retelling triumphs of His grace, we hear their calls and hunger for the day when, with Christ, we stand in glory.
INVITATION TAKE MY LIFE AND LET IT BE 5 Take my life and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee. Take my moments and my days, let them flow in ceaseless praise; Let them flow in ceaseless praise. Take my hands and let them move at the impulse of Thy love. Take my feet and let them be swift and beautiful for Thee; Swift and beautiful for Thee. Take my voice and let me sing always, only for my King. Take my lips and let them be filled with messages from Thee; Filled with messages from Thee. Take my silver and my gold, not a mite would I withhold. Take my intellect and use ev ry pow r as Thou shalt choose; Ev ry pow r as Thou shalt choose. Take my will and make it Thine, it shall be no longer mine. Take my heart it is Thine own, it shall be Thy royal throne; It shall be Thy royal throne. Take my love, my Lord, I pour at Thy feet its treasure store. Take myself and I will be ever, only, all for Thee; Ever, only, all for Thee.
OFFERTORY ALL GLORY BE TO CHRIST 6 Should nothing of our efforts stand, no legacy survive; Unless the Lord does raise the house in vain, its builders strive. To you who boast tomorrow's gain, tell me what is your life? A mist that vanishes at dawn, all glory be to Christ. All glory be to Christ our King, all glory be to Christ; His rule and reign we ll ever sing, all glory be to Christ. His will be done, His kingdom come, on earth as is above; Who is Himself our daily bread, praise Him the Lord of love. Let living water satisfy the thirsty without price; We ll take a cup of kindness yet, all glory be to Christ. All glory be to Christ our King, all glory be to Christ; His rule and reign we ll ever sing, all glory be to Christ. When on that day the Great I am, the faithful and the true; The Lamb who was for sinners slain, is making all things new. Behold our God shall live with us, and be our steadfast light, and we shall e're His people be, all glory be to Christ. All glory be to Christ our King, all glory be to Christ; His rule and reign we ll ever sing, all glory be to Christ. BENEDICTION BY FAITH We will stand as children of the promise; We will fix our eyes on Him, our soul's reward. Till the race is finished and the work is done, we'll walk by faith and not by sight.
