Under the mantle of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we grow as a people of God following Jesus, celebrating the Eucharist, living apostolic service, continuing faith formation and Marian devotions. We strive to bring the joy of the gospel and imitate Jesus through compassion, mercy and love, especially for the poor and marginalized. We seek to be faithful stewards providing a heart and home for all.

This reading reminds us that God raised a prophet from among His people to speak to the people on His behalf. The prophet s words are dictated/commanded by God. But if a prophet presumes to speak in my name, an oracle, that I have not commanded him to speak, or speak in the name of other gods, he[she] shall die (Dt. 18: 20). The prophet is chosen by God himself and not by an ordinary human being, nor by a person who claims he/she is a prophet by his/her own declaration. God has his own authority and power to choose, to speak, and to teach as shown by our Lord Jesus Christ in the gospel this Sunday.
