Connect Church Welcome to Connect Church If you are visiting with us for the first time, WELCOME! We are glad it was your choice to worship Christ with us today. We hope this time of praise and the study of God s Word will be an encouragement for you. please join us between services for refreshments and fellowship. I love this church because I like the people here and the pastors speak God s Word. I serve Jesus with you by serving in the community. Settling for less than God s best can happen to the best of us. We can become frozen in the grip of anger, fear, rejection, and lose sight of God s promises. Join us for the upcoming Summer Bible Study, Goliath Must Fall, scheduled to begin June 6th at 7:00 PM in the Worship Center on the Royal Palm campus.

Church Life Tithes and Offerings Alfred Nobel dropped the newspaper and put his head in his hands. It was 1888. Nobel was a Swedish chemist who made his fortune inventing and producing dynamite. His brother Ludwig had died in France. But now Alfred s grief was compounded by dismay. He d just read an obituary in a French newspaper not his brother s obituary, but his! An editor had confused the brothers. The headline read, The Merchant of Death is Dead. Alfred Nobel s obituary described a man who had gotten rich by helping people kill one another. KIDS Shaken by the appraisal of his life, Nobel resolved to use his wealth to change his legacy. When he died eight year later, he left more than $9 million to fund awards for people whose work benefited humanity. The awards became known as the Nobel Prizes. Alfred Nobel had a rare opportunity - to look at the assessment of his life at its end and still have the chance to change it. Before his life was over, Nobel made sure he had invested his wealth in something of lasting value. From The Treasure Principle For additional information please visit our website at CC.TODAY.

God s Word - Time With God Today s SOAP - Pastor Josh Sharpe Scripture: 2 Corinthians 9:1-15 Observation: Paul is speaking to an audience where most of the population depends heavily on agricultural economic. Here he gives a simple yet powerful word picture. If one plants seeds sparingly into the ground the food that grows will be sparse. However, if one is to plant many seeds then the harvest will be great! He compares this to the way in which we give. Giving much will produce a great harvest but giving little will produce little. Application: Paul encourages that each person should give as he has decided in his heart allowing ones relationship with the Lord and personal conviction to be the deciding factor on the amount that is given. The Assumption is clear: the more one loves the Lord and desires to seek and serve him, the more that person will willingly and generously give. It is so Important that our giving is not under compulsion but out of a great passion for the Lord. Prayer: Father, you are our provider! All good things we have come from you. Help us to live lives with open hands that we might sow much for the Kingdom of God. Amen S.O.A.P. Scripture Observation Application Prayer Grab your Bible, a pen, and a notebook. Get ready to hear from God through His Word! This Week s SOAP Finding Strength How Do I SOAP? Scripture - Read the passage of Scripture for the day and allow God to speak to you. Write down a verse which spoke to you. Observation - Write your observation as to what is happening in the text. What do you believe is the point of the passage? Application - Write down how the Scripture passage applies to your life today. Prayer - Ask God to help you use this Scripture for greater insight on what He may be revealing to you. Remember, prayer is a two-way conversation, so be sure to listen to what God has to say! Now, write it out. M 2 Corinthians 12:7b T 2 Corinthians 12:8-9 W 2 Corinthians 12:10 TH 2 Corinthians 13:2-4 F 2 Corinthians 13:5-6 S 2 Corinthians 13:7-8 Main Passage for May 27 2 Corinthians 12:7b-10; 13:2-8 CSB Memory Verse: 2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is perfected in weakness. Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ s power may reside in me.

Giving Faithfully Scripture 1 Now concerning the ministry to the saints, it is unnecessary for me to write to you. 2 For I know your eagerness, and I boast about you to the Macedonians: Achaia has been ready since last year, and your zeal has stirred up most of them. 3 But I am sending the brothers so that our boasting about you in this matter would not prove empty, and so that you would be ready just as I said. 4 Otherwise, if any Macedonians come with me and find you unprepared, we, not to mention you, would be put to shame in that situation. 5 Therefore I considered it necessary to urge the brothers to go on ahead to you and arrange in advance the generous gift you promised, so that it will be ready as a gift and not as an extortion. 6 The point is this: The person who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the person who sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each person should do as he has decided in his heart not reluctantly or out of compulsion, since God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make every grace overflow to you, so that in every way, always having everything you need, you may excel in every good work. 9 As it is written: He distributed freely; he gave to the poor; his righteousness endures forever. 10 Now the one who provides seed for the sower and bread for food will also provide and multiply your seed and increase the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be enriched in every way for all generosity, which produces thanksgiving to God through us. 12 For the ministry of this service is not only supplying the needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. 13 Because of the proof provided by this ministry, they will glorify God for your obedient confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone. 14 And as they pray on your behalf, they will have deep affection for you because of the surpassing grace of God in you. 15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! 2 Corinthians 9:1-15 CSB Main Point Believers show trust in God by using their resources to meet the needs of others. Next Steps If you are not consistently worshiping through giving, prayerfully begin to give to His mission as a step of appreciation and faith. *Notes adapted from Explore the Bible, LifeWay Christian Resources.
