ST HELEN CHURCH RIVERSIDE, OHIO July 22, 2018 WE ARE NEARING THE END... OF CONSTRUCTION, THAT IS! Construction is almost finished on the parish office accessibility and renovation project. To allow for the computers and phones to be moved, the parish office will be closed Wednesday, August 1st. Mark you calendars for Sunday, September 30. Bishop Binzer will celebrate the 10:30 a.m. Mass with us and bless the new offices immediately following Mass. Following the blessing, we will host an open house to allow everyone to see the new space. READINGS FOR JULY 29 Ephesians 4:1-6 2 Kings 4:42-44 John 6:1-15 With heartfelt thanks for your STEWARDSHIP OF TREASURE July 14 & 15 $24,865.17 COMING SOON! Have you ever left Mass wanting to explore our faith a little more, dive deeper into one of Fr. Satish s points from his homily, or just want to listen or read stories of faith? Be on the lookout the next couple weekends! The materials haven t arrived yet, but we will soon have a display case full of Catholic resources you can pick up before/after Mass to take home! SEEKING HELP WITH OUR MINISTRY AT TRINITY RETIREMENT COMMUNITY We are in need of another team of 2 or 3 people to take Communion to Catholic residents of Trinity Retirement Community in Beavercreek. This beautiful ministry brings the larger Church to those who are no longer able to join us at Mass, and it celebrates the gift of the Body of Christ bringing the Body of Christ to the Body of Christ! This new group would be one of four teams that conduct a Liturgy of Word with Communion service on the 2 nd and 4 th Sundays of each month. Given this rotation, you would be scheduled about once every other month. You would join one of the current teams to learn the process, and all of the service materials are provided. We do the Sunday readings then distribute Communion. It is not required that you be a current Eucharistic Minister, nor is it required that you be on the list to distribute at Mass. We will train you for taking Communion to the Sick. The team can be a husband and wife or just two or three parishioners who work together. Only one person would need to distribute Communion. If you are interested, please call Walt or Sadie Seward at 426-9942. Thank you for considering this additional means of being present as Christ to others! UPDATE YOUR PARISH INFORMATION FOR THE 2018-19 GUIDE BOOK/MINI DIRECTORY Does our Church database have YOUR family membership record correct? It is time for us to update our database with any changes, additions, or deletions that may have occurred in YOUR family over the past year. Have you changed your phone number? Have you moved? Are you preparing to move soon? Has your marital status changed? Have you had a child? Is he or she listed on your family record? If you have not already informed the Church Office about changes to your record, please let us know now so that the names and phone numbers in the 2018-19 Guide Book & Directory are correct. The Church Office number is 254-6233 Thank you!

ST HELEN CHURCH RIVERSIDE, OHIO July 22, 2018 CREDIT UNION NEWS With member-voted approval for the merger of the St. Helen Federal Credit Union with the Dayton Firefighters Credit Union, we will slowly transition our products and services to match with the full service offerings of the DFFCU over the next several weeks You will continue to receive the same great service from your same credit union staff at our current location here on the St. Helen grounds. As a result, our members will enjoy expanded options such as extended locations and hours, access to ATM s, and on-line/mobile banking. It has been our honor and privilege to serve St Helen Parish for the past 62 years. We have been there to help parishioners realize their housing dreams with savings accounts and second mortgages, provide affordable car loans when a new vehicle is needed, offer Christmas savings accounts to attain the picture-perfect Christmas morning, teach our young students the value of budgeting through Savings Day programs, and sometimes just be that big shoulder on which to release all the tension of a financial burden. If you have been a member of the St. Helen Federal Credit Union at some point during our 62 years, we thank you for the opportunity to work with you in obtaining your financial goals. While change is never easy, we hope to make this transition smooth and beneficial for our members. Amy, Karla, Darcy, and Melanie look forward to assisting with your financial needs as we transition into the St Helen branch of the Dayton Firefighters Federal Credit Union. WANT TO GET CATHOLIC PERSPECTIVES ON THE NEWS? WANT TO KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON IN THE CHURCH? VISIT OUR WEBSITE, UNDER THE ADULT TAB, FOR LINKS TO THESE SITES! ST. SIXTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME OUR PARISH FAMILY IS GROWING: GREAT EXPECTATIONS OF GREAT JOY! It caught our eye recently that several of our parish families are with child, and we d like to share the joy! Allison and Todd are due any day! Vicky and Josh in October! Frank and Stephanie s little guy was born on picture day. He decided he wanted to be seen outside rather than inside! Kirk and Ashley in August! Matt and Tiffany in September! And while we rejoice with these couples, we also hold in our hearts and in prayer those who have suffered a miscarriage, those who long for a child and are struggling to conceive, and those who are unable to conceive. May the Good God grant you peace!
