Exhausted by the long drive, John came to a halt at the intersection. Though there were signboards, the journey was having an effect on him. He was desperately struggling to keep his drooping eyelids ajar. He slid into a world of fantasy. He could clearly see two roads in front of him. Each one was alluring him to embrace its glory. Suddenly a lightning severed the sky. The brilliance of the light grew to an incredible proportion as it came near. Instantly, he heard someone say, John, wake up! He came to his senses. There was a steady honking from the cars behind. John s car was blocking the intersection. Which way should I go? Where am I heading to? these questions whirled around his head. Then he heard a faint automated voice, turn right at the intersection. Without a second thought, he swerved to the right and continued his journey. How often have we gazed at the crossroads, not knowing the way to take? How nice would it be in that weary situation, if someone told us the way, like the GPS that guided John! I don t think that there is anyone who hasn t shown up at the doorsteps of an intersection. The Holy Bible tells us about the broad and narrow way. Many people like to travel by the broad way. But only a few like to pursue the narrow way. There are many challenges and hardships in the path that leads to eternal life and heavenly bliss. Some people might like to travel through the narrow way as they love to confront risks. Robert Frost, the famous American poet, in his The Road Not Taken says I took the one less travelled by, And it has made all the difference. People who fall a prey to depression, loneliness, and dejection find themselves at the crossroads. Others may also find themselves at the intersection when they have to make an important decision about their lives, careers, spiritual or mundane affairs. They need someone to guide them in the right path. As actions are irreversible and all types of intersections demand immediate action, we need to crave for a flawless advice. This is available to everyone whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart (Psalm 15: 2). Isaiah 30: 21 says, And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee saying, this is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left. To be able to hear this voice, we need to tune our ears and diligently follow the Lord. Intersections will certainly be converted to runways with steady or blinking green lights. Achen s Message Dearly beloved in Christ, Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy. (Psalm 126: 3). This was the verse chosen as the motto, ahead of the Silver Jubilee celebrations of our church. Now at the end of all the celebrations, I thank God almighty, the Lord of our church, by uttering the same verse again and again. Truly God has done great things for us in all the aspects of our celebrations. I want to thank and appreciate each and everyone in our fellowship for providing his / her cordial, sincere and devoted service in making the programmes and projects of Jubilee splendid and remarkable. Our celebration of the Jubilee was a journey with passion and hope. This passion and hope have geared up the church to stay on together even in the midst of crisis. I thank God for the never-ending mercy He has showered upon us in the closing programs.god has enriched us by making everything accurate and momentous. I do realize that the fruits we could reap from our program were harmony and oneness. This is our message to the world around us. You may all agree with me that the first Episcopal visit of our Bishop Rt. Rev. Thomas K. Oommen has provided us with a new strength and optimism in parish life. He was much delighted with our programmes and parish life. He was well received by the Arch Bishop and the area Bishop of the Toronto Anglican Diocese and had a meaningful time with them. I also thank those families who extended their hospitality to Thirumeni and Kochamma during their stay. I congratulate all the thirteen candidates who became full members of the church through the Confirmation Service held in our church last week. May God enrich them to lead an exemplary spiritual life as they grow up. I request you all to prepare for our annual family retreat to be held on the third week of July. We are living in a world where unresolved issues erode the love and trust that are essential to healthy family relationships. Evil is invading families and the fellowship and the fragrance of mutual understanding are driven out of lives. In this context, the retreat becomes a mandatory program for all our families helping to refresh and strengthen our family lives. I request all our families to come and participate full time in this retreat. As a church that has completed an era of twenty five years of Christian service, we need to press on towards the future with a new vision. As our Bishop has insisted us, we need to have a Christ-centered (Christo- centric) vision for the present and future. It should be our passion to own spiritual lives that reproduce their own kinds and bring glory to God. Our church location, different activities, warm fellowships and all other opportunities are just vehicles that God uses to help us reach this goal. Let us labour together as a squad to carry out Christ s biblical mandate for our church! May God bless you all Yours in Christ Shajiachen http://csichurchtoronto.org 3

His grandmother decided to take him to the park on Saturday morning. It had been snowing all night and everything was beautiful. His grandmother remarked... "doesn't it look like an artist painted this scenery? Did you know God painted this just for you?" Bobby said, "Yes, God did it and he did it left handed." This confused his grandmother a bit, and she asked him "What makes you say God did this with his left hand?" "Well," said Bobby, "we learned at Sunday School last week that Jesus sits on God's right hand!" Elijah's Offering The Sunday school teacher was carefully explaining the story of Elijah the Prophet and the false prophets of Baal. She explained how Elijah built the altar, put wood upon it, cut the steer in pieces and laid it upon the altar. And then Elijah commanded the people of God to fill four barrels of water and pour it over the altar. He had them do this four times. "Now, said the teacher, "can anyone in the class tell me why the Lord would have Elijah pour water over the steer on the altar?" A little girl in the back of the room raised her hand with great enthusiasm. "To make the gravy." Adam's Rib At Sunday School they were teaching how God created everything, including human beings. Little Johnny, a child in the kindergarten class, seemed especially intent when they told him how Eve was created out of one of Adam's ribs. Later in the week his mother noticed him lying as though he were ill, and said. "Johnny what is the matter?" Little Johnny responded, "I have a pain in my side. I think I'm going to have a wife."
