Do You Want to Read the Bible, But Don t Know How to Begin? If you ever wanted to read the Bible, but did not know where or how to begin, then A Quick Journey Through The Bible Parish Study is for you. A Quick Journey Through The Bible makes reading the Bible, not only easy, but also exciting. In this study, you will learn the major people, places, events, and themes of the Bible and thus get the big picture of salvation history. Perhaps for the first time in your life, you will understand the overview of the Bible story. This then makes your Bible reading and even the Sunday Mass readings come alive like never before. A Quick Journey Through The Bible will be offered at Good Shepherd Parish on Wednesday nights, from January 12 through March 2011, in the Parish Hall, Section A, from 6:00 7:00 p.m. Registrations will start after all Masses this weekend in the Parish Hall. Please consider participating in this worthy effort. What do you need to do to participate? This weekend, December 4/5, ornament tags will be available in the narthexes of the church. Parishioners are invited to take an ornament, print your name and phone number on the attached slip AT CHURCH, leave the slip in the basket by the tree, and return the gift listed on the ornament to the church by December 12. The gift should be wrapped with the tree ornament attached to the outside for identification and distribution. It is as simple as that. Each gift is coded for a particular recipient. Therefore, it is important that all the ornaments that are taken be returned with the gift that is described on the ornament. Several ornaments list a money donation that will be converted into a gift certificate for food. Some ornaments ask for gift certificates to particular local stores. You can save yourself shopping time by buying it through the Good Shepherd Scrip Card Program after Mass in the Parish Hall. Everyone knows the joy of receiving gifts. Many of us can only imagine the disheartening feeling parents experience when they are not able to provide a gift for their children. Please join in this worthy project and help keep alive the joy of giving and receiving during this blessed season. Our thanks to the Religious Education Office and the Youth of the parish for coordinating and executing this worthwhile project. Thank you for YOUR interest and generosity. DEADLINE FOR GIFT RETURNS: DECEMBER 11 12
