The Powerhouse Guide for Health, Vitality and Disease Reversal How to use meditation to manifest powerful good health and finally bring your wellbeing dreams to fruition The human body is a complete machine. No single component is separate from any other. When you feel emotional stress, your body reacts in turn, releasing hormones and chemicals that put physical stress on your body. No single emotion, reaction or feeling occurs in a vacuum. This is why, when you take control of your destiny and learn to harness the power of the human mind to seek and achieve greater inner peace, you can actually banish illness and encourage greater health for all of your body s systems. That is what this report is about. In it, I am going to show you how the human body and mind are so closely interlinked that even something as simple as a smile can cause you to feel instantly better and how you can harness that power through meditation and the manifestation of positive energy in your life. Great thinkers and practitioners of the meditative arts have been using these techniques for millennia to better control how their minds perceive the world and how their bodies interact with it and you can do the same - finding the most powerful and overwhelming resource at your disposal to achieve greater health, vitality and resistance to disease. I want you to read this book with a clear mind - with the notion that whatever you feel and whatever you allow yourself to believe not only becomes a permanent part of who you are but has a direct impact on how your body works and what you perceive in the world around you. It is this power that will allow you to tap the relationship between mind and body through meditation. Let s begin. The Powerhouse Guide for Health, Vitality and Disease Reversal 3

The Mind and the Body are Closely Linked Science has done a good job of carefully dissecting the human body and showing us how each individual part works. Unfortunately, in doing this, doctors and scientists have denied us one of the greatest powers we have - the ability to recognize and repair damage to both mind and body through careful reflection and meditation. When our first response to a physical illness is to seek out medical attention and take medication that only truly resolves the symptoms of a deeper problem, we are ignoring a fundamental component of how our bodies work. We have the power to manifest wellness through peaceful reflection, meditation and the understanding that the mind and body are in fact quite closely linked. Imagine for an instant what happens when you meditate. What happens when you sit and allow yourself to eliminate the sources of stress, anger and pain from your life one at a time as your mind sinks into a state of perfect reflection and nothing deeper than meditative flow? The body relaxes. The muscles tensed since you woke up this morning unknot. The tension you feel in your hands and feet. The throbbing behind your eyes. The discomfort in your chest. Things you may not have realized were there melt away as you take slow, deep breath after slow deep breath, relaxing your body in a way that many people don t realize is possible without medication. Your mind wants to be at peace and the tension you feel when it is not is a result of the discomfort created by the busyness of modern living. Our minds are more capable of processing ideas, building new thoughts and controlling our body s natural capabilities when they are at peace. It is the nature of sleep. It is the nature of relaxation. It is even the nature of memory and of creativity - everything works better when we allow ourselves time to relax and process what is around us. How does this affect the body? There are a number of ways to look at this. To start, consider the actual physical interaction that occurs in your brain when under stress. Your body, when it feels emotional tension, creates the feeling we know as stress. What stress really is though is the fight or flight response built into all animals. A perceived threat - no matter what form it comes in - forces us to consider whether it is better to run away or stand and fight. Your body floods with hormones that are designed to stimulate a response as quickly as possible. If you delay a response or are unable to make one, stress can persist and over time, that heightened state of tension will cause your body to experience physical symptoms of exhaustion and 4 The Powerhouse Guide for Health, Vitality and Disease Reversal

even disease. Adrenaline and cortisol - the two hormones released by your body during the fight or flight response are designed to get your body moving. So, they cause your heart rate to increase, your muscles to tighten, your blood pressure to increase and your breathing to quicken. Evolutionarily, this response was designed to ensure that when faced with a threat, we could react as strongly and quickly as possible. Of course, having an argument with your children is not the same as facing down a hungry mountain lion. Yet, our bodies respond the same. The greater your immediate response, the more powerful your physical reaction. If this happens every now and then - such as right before a job interview or after receiving bad news - it is perfectly healthy. Your body is designed to accept and process these spikes of stress. It is when stress remains a constant part of your life and you never quite come down from that feeling that you need to act immediately, even when you know it is not possible. It s like pulling a rubber band as far back as you can and holding it there. Eventually it will break. As will your body. Your mind s response to the world around it has a direct and immediate impact on your body s physical health. By ignoring stress or allowing it to be a constant part of your life, you essentially wear your body down to the point that it can no longer handle other tasks for which it is designed - things like fighting off disease or digesting food. You will feel sicker, tireder and eventually weaker because of that constant stress, which will of course create more stress. This is a never ending cycle if you don t take action. Fortunately, there are simple ways to combat this cycle. Recognizing Your Body s Needs Stress can affect your body in a number of ways. It may not even feel like stress. It might manifest as a feeling of withdrawal (such as when someone becomes addicted to work) or it could be a feeling of general depression as you withdraw into yourself to deal with that stress. Busyness and lack of control over your life can have a direct impact on a number of things in your body. Those emotional symptoms such as moodiness and agitation go right along with aches and pains, digestive issues, chest pain and increased heart rate, nausea and dizziness and constant illness and disease. Your body simply lacks the strength to fit off illness and perform normal functions because it is being wound tight on a regular basis. It is your imperative to tackle this problem and teach your mind to The Mind and the Body are Closely Linked 5

properly process and handle stress while giving your body the break it needs to concentrate on what it does best - fighting off illness and feeling better. Direct Benefits of Meditation When you go to work each day or have a conversation with your children or visit the DMV, your mind is being used as a blunt instrument. A very powerful, very intelligent instrument, but one that is repeated brought to bear against any number of obstacles. So, it frequently encounters barriers or situations that create stress and subsequently make you feel unwell. Meditation is a different use of the mind. The mind is not a blunt instrument to be thrown around and bash at whatever is in your way. It is an elegant and powerful instrument that can be wielded like an artisan s finest creation but only when you understand its nuances and work with its strengths and massage its weaknesses. This is what meditation does. It provides you with the means to understand what makes you you and brings a state of peace and emptiness to your mind that can flush away the sources of stress that are creating these physical impediments. It is a system reset and the most likely and effective method you have to release tension and increase feelings of happiness in your life. We don t need modern science to tell us how good meditation is but in the course of recent studies, time and again, benefits have been seen, from a decrease in heart disease to an increase in brain function, better control over weight and weight loss, better all around fitness, fewer illnesses that are shorter when they do occur, better concentration and memory, enhanced creativity, and general happiness. Heart doctors and psychologists alike now prescribe meditation, yoga and tai chi to their patients - activities designed to relieve stress and activate parts of the brain that promote healing. Manifestation of happiness and wellness is a possibility that lives in all of us - so deeply that when harnessed properly, it can quite literally change your life. How to Take Action and Make Meditation Part of Your Life Much of the stress we experience in our lives is due to feeling a lack of control, as though we are being pulled along through life by a string to deal with dilemma after dilemma for which we don t have the answers. But for many of us, the answers are there. You just need to ask for them and take on the right mindset to manifest them in your life. This is what meditation does - simultaneously putting life in perspective and reducing the tension and stress on 6 The Powerhouse Guide for Health, Vitality and Disease Reversal

your body to the point that it is healthier, happier and capable of doing so much more than you ever thought possible. To make this mindset a part of how you live your life, you need to make no more changes than for 30 minutes a day sitting down and allowing yourself the freedom to meditate on who you are and what has brought you to this point in your life. This can mean many things, depending on what you feel is most important. * Affirmation - Your mind, when properly coached can relearn what it believes about itself. You can be happy, healthy, fit, attractive to others, confident in yourself and willing to try new things. You simply need to affirm that these things are the truth and your mind will take care of the rest. * Positive Reflection - Reflect on what you have and what you appreciate most in life. Gratitude is the lynchpin of manifestation. You cannot bring something into your life until you better understand and appreciate that which you already have and have achieved. * Manifestation of Abundance - Are you deserving of the abundance and health you want to bring into your life? If this is a question you still need to ask yourself, it is important that you spend time contemplating what it is that you are capable of and what it is you want and deserve from the universe around you. * Classical Meditation - Meditation is a physical, mental, emotional and often times spiritual experience that allows you to take all of the above and distill it into a few moments of perfect clarity. There is no one right way to meditate, but I will do my best to show you some of the techniques I and others I have worked with use to clear the mind and open ourselves to that which is offered by the universe. Each of these things allows you to put your life into the perspective of a whole - of a world in which you live and of the amazing things you have done and are capable of. This is a state of acceptance, not of seeking and it can have an immensely positive impact on your life when it becomes a part of how you think. The Mind and the Body are Closely Linked 7

Manifesting Health and Wellness Wellbeing is not something earned or achieved. It is not a rung on a ladder you need to reach for most of your life and kill yourself to grab. It is a part of who we are and within you is the capacity to be healthy and happy in everything you do in life. The human body is immensely powerful and capable of things you may not realize. We create new cells by the millions, remove diseases and illness every single day and rarely fail. It is those times of failure that bring on illness or lethargy, but the connectedness of the mind to the body is such that with the right mental approach and practice, you can nearly eliminate the risk of these illnesses and change how you see and experience the world around you. In this section I am going to show you key exercises you can use to recapture your mind and take back for yourself the power of the human body. These are exercises that will allow you to instantly tap into the power of the human mind to relieve and dequantify stress, make key changes to how you think about and perceive the world around you and change your perception of the world around you in as many ways as possible for the better. Classical Meditation Classical meditation is the act of sitting in a quiet space, practicing mindful breathing and focusing on clearing your mind of the clutter that accumulates there throughout a long day. For many people, this seems immensely hard, but there are key exercises you can perform to help you reach this state of mindfulness. Relaxation Before you can fully meditate, you must first relax your body. Conscious relaxation is good for a number of reasons. First it reduces tension in the body which is a good way to open yourself to the tranquility of meditation. Second, it makes you aware of that tension - bringing you closer to your body and its operations. To start relaxing your body, sit in a quiet room with your back straight but relaxed. Now, focus your attention on specific muscles in your body - you can start at the feet and work your way up if that helps (or vice versa). Now, breathe deeply and feel the tension in those muscles start to drain away. Push the tension upward in your body, draining it slowly from one muscle into the next. As you pool your tension and then remove it from your body, imagine in its place is a sea of tranquility - peacefulness in a void within the center of your being. This is where 8 The Powerhouse Guide for Health, Vitality and Disease Reversal

your meditations will begin. Breathing Breathing is the centerpiece of meditation. It is what centers you and targets the focus of the body. It is what allows you to successfully remove the tension that develops in your day and physically relax as you explore the inner corners of your mind. It is also significantly harder than you might realize, requiring immense focus and revealing that, despite your years on this earth, you have rarely if ever mastered the most basic function of life. * Visualize the Breathing - Imagine when you breathe that it enters deep in your body, through the center of your chest or stomach. The deeper you imagine the breath entering your body the deeper your meditations will be. Now imagine the breath you take fills the void you created when relaxing your body. That you are filled with the vital component of life and that it is coursing through your body. * Awareness - Awareness of breathing is something few of us have but that can provide an ideal entry point to the act of meditation. Start by breathing as slowly as possible, so slow that if you were put a feather in front of your mouth or nose it would not move. When you breathe out, do it even slower. Protract those breaths and feel them coursing through your nose and mouth into your lungs and throughout your body. Holding your breath and feeling it in your body is good as well if it doesn t make you uncomfortable. * Bring Energy into Your Body - The air you breathe is a form of cosmic energy that interacts with the vibrational energy in your body to make possible the life you life. When you breathe, imagine that you are absorbing that cosmic energy and that with every breath it purifies every corner of your body, mind and soul. There is no part of your being that this cosmic energy cannot touch and that is not purifying. Everything that you do not want - the stress, the tension, the anger and fear - it is purged with each breath. The cosmic energy washes it away and it is removed with each exhale. This is a very effective process but requires a heightened sense of awareness of your breathing. Breathing is not an exercise but a core component of your being. Breathing is you and you are breathing and when you recognize that connection and make it part of your meditations, relaxation comes naturally. Concentration Meditation is an act of concentration on nothingness - on your being without the actions and experiences that inform that being. So, it helps to have exercises in concentration that will give you the focus needed to overcome distractions and find that true inner peacefulness. Manifesting Health and Wellness 9

* Physical Concentration - If you are having trouble with the physical act of concentration, start with a single focus outside of your body. Choose an item along the wall or paint a black dot there and focus your energy on this item. Focus on it and only it as you breathe. As you begin to relax, imagine that your breath is supplied by your outward focus and that when you breathe back out it goes to the focus. With time, you and the focus will become one - you will feel yourself connect with the focus and leave the body in a way that is indicative of success. * Spiritual Concentration - Imagine your heart - your spiritual heart - and the closeness you have with it. Imagine what you have done with your heart and what it has done for you. Imagine the things that you hold close to your heart and that you can live within that heart. You can focus on your actual heart as part of this exercise, using it as a focus that will absorb your energy. If you cannot focus on your heart without thinking about material possessions, consider first purifying your heart with an exercise to remove those items from your consciousness. Another powerful form of concentration is to take a flower and hold it in front of you as you meditate. Focus on the flower for 30-60 seconds and then close your eyes. When you open them, focus only on one petal for 30-60 seconds, then close them again. When you reopen your eyes for the third time, focus on the flower as a whole again. This is the universe and you are that petal - an integral part of the universe that makes it possible for the latter to exist. You are connected in almost every way - your existence and its existence make the other possible. Mantra A mantra is a powerful word that can be repeated again and again to purify your mind of unwanted thoughts. Chanting a mantra creates a vibration around your body and calms your mind, allowing you to enter the consciousness of that mantra and feel it in your body. The act of using a mantra allows you not only to listen to those words but to eventually feel them in your mind and body as the vibrations roll through you. It will focus the mind and give you a means by which to process the meditations you are in. You don t need a specific word either - the AUM chant is effective for almost anyone as it taps into the basic sounds of the universe - taking you deep into meditation. Visualization One of the most powerful exercises I have used to experience true inner peace and relaxation is the heart-rose. This classic meditation exercise is simple in theory 10 The Powerhouse Guide for Health, Vitality and Disease Reversal

and yet will likely take you may attempts to master. Start by imagining a rose where your heart is in the body - that rose is not yet blossomed and is there beside your heart. Close your eyes and visualize this rose for a few minutes, observing but not interacting with it in your mind s eye. Now, after three or four minutes, imagine that the rose slowly starts to open its petals, unfurling and showing new life to you and your body. Now imagine that the rose is your heart and your heart is that rose. It is the center of your being - a manifestation of all that is you and all that is life. Now, as the rose grows and matures, imagine it is everywhere in your body.your body is a rose, imbuing the world with its scent and bringing to those around you a sense of wonder and joy. Continue to focus on your heart rose and the purity it represents. A heart rose does not care for material things. It has no need. It is a vessel for your own purity and the ultimate representation of your humanity. Manifesting Health and Wellness 11

Manifestation through Meditation The following exercises are designed to make the mindfulness you experience every day in those 15-30 minutes of meditation a part of your daily life. It is one thing to master the art of mindful breathing when sitting in a quiet room by yourself every afternoon, but what about when on a busy train or having a heated discussion with your boss? These are the situations in which stress levels can elevate and your mind can turn into the blunt instrument that causes discomfort and damage to the rest of your body. These exercises will allow you to tap into the power of the mind even when you are actively using it and when the daily rigors of a stressful life may seem like too much to handle. Relieve One Minute It is not necessarily possible to stop what you are doing and focus on your heart rose or to perform a full body scan, especially with work and family placing so many demands on you. However, one exercise that can refocus the mind and retrieve the mindfulness you experience during your meditations is to relieve a single minute from your day. To do this, sit down and stare at a clock with a second and minute hand. Now, watch this clock as it moves. Do not wait for that minute to be over - experience that minute. Breathe deeply and watch the second hand move carefully, methodically, unceasingly to the next tick, then again and again. Imagine you are breathing from that clock and the clock is moving powered by your exhalations. The universe is in constant motion, but it does not power through - it simply flows and you are capable of flowing with it if you only stop fighting and allow yourself to flow. Mindfulness in Routine Tasks The most commonly cited examples of mindfulness in daily life are in eating and walking. When meditating, you find peace by focusing on the acts of breathing and of sitting. Of the very act of living. It is harder to find this form of peace when you are actively moving around and living your life. Yet, there are acts you perform that are fundamental to your life and that can represent these same experiences. Eating is one of them. To start, eat your meals without any distractions. No book, no newspaper, no mobile phone or TV. Just you and the meal you are eating. Now, focus on every piece of food you put into 12 The Powerhouse Guide for Health, Vitality and Disease Reversal

your mouth. Observe its color and the taste, the texture of that food sliding across your tongue and the very act of chewing. Imagine the food you eat as a source of cosmic energy entering your body, purifying and nourishing your heart, body and soul. The food you eat will ultimately have an impact on this form of mindfulness but it can be helpful. Imagine trying to view a hamburger as pure cosmic energy purifying your mind and body. It would be much harder than imagining the same of a carrot or a salad. This same exercise works equally well when walking. Such an automatic process is hard to contemplate when you really think about it. Your body just walks. You don t actively move those muscles - they just do it when you have the need for them to do it. So, become mindful of the process. Take each step and imagine the muscles tensing and loosening in your body - your entire body. The energy flowing from your heart center to the fibers of those muscles and giving you the strength to carry yourself forward. Change the Routine Much of what we do in life is done on autopilot. The way we eat or walk as outlined above as well as how we put on clothing or pet a dog or make a bed or put on our shoes. To become mindful of what you are doing and how it affects any component of your life, be mindful of those actions and of the ways in which you can change them. For example, try putting on the opposite shoe of the one you normally do. If you go through a certain door, use a different one. If you drive a certain route to work, take a different road. Change your routine and be mindful of what is involved in doing that and of what actions you take. One of the purest forms of concentration is the act of understanding what you are doing in any given moment, of not letting your body do what it has always done while your mind is permeated with stress. Other tasks you can be mindful of include cleaning, grocery shopping, sitting in a chair and typing. Another very useful strategy here is to force a response you may not expect from yourself. If you feel annoyed with something smile. Your mind will respond to the physical reaction of smiling and your annoyance will lessen. The same is true when you are angry or when you feel sadness. Observe The world is an amazing place filled with things we don t recognize or pay attention to, even when they are right in front of us. Stop and take three deep Manifestation through Meditation 13

breaths, closing your eyes and focusing on nothing but what is right in front of you. Now, open your eyes and slowly observe five things you can see in your line of sight, then listen for five distinct noises - separate them out. FInally, imagine five things you can smell and then five things you can feel. You can further observe by keeping a journal or recording your thoughts on a recorder. The goal here is to observe the world around you, not necessarily to act upon anything you experience. Mindfulness is something we have within us but that we don t use because of how busy we are, how many things are on our mind. But simply being observant of the world around you can almost immediately eliminate the stress you feel and focus your energies in new ways, reducing those feelings that lead to physical tension in the body. This alone is a powerful way to fight disease and manage general health. With any of the exercises above, remember that the end result is not a goal or a finish line to be passed. The purpose of the exercises is to experience what happens when you try. To this end, don t start an exercise expecting to immediately recover from an illness or to never again get sick. Start it with the thought that you will finish it. That allow is enough to ensure you will take action and experience the joy that comes from completing these exercises. 14 The Powerhouse Guide for Health, Vitality and Disease Reversal

Conclusion Your body is a complete machine - one that relies on every component to work as intended to keep it healthy and happy. We have a very strong understanding of the body but often we forget that the mind is part of that body and that how we perceive the world and process information has a direct effect on how we feel and the level of health we can maintain. The exercises I ve shared with you in this guide are the core components of meditation and mindfulness. They have been used in one form or another for millennia by Yogis, great thinkers and spiritual leaders to observe themselves and the universe in which they live and to act upon those observations, entering the flow and manifesting that which they most desire - the peace to live free of material connections. When you use these techniques in your own life, you tap into a power greater than any of us - the energy supplied by the universe - to feel and understand your place in a much greater mechanism. More importantly, you remove the stressors that are constantly forcing your body into a state of ceaseless tension. By relaxing the body, nourishing the heart and freeing the spirit, you give yourself the strength needed to combat disease, increase happiness and generally be healthier. This is the way of the human body - nourish the soul and mind and the body will follow. Conclusion 15
