JESUS HEALS A PARALYZED MAN Mark 2 1 And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house (Had a house in Capernaum.) (The Bible tells us 9 And he entered into a ship (boat), and passed (crossed) over, and came into his own city. 2 And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee (Linked the affliction with sin; transgression. Ask for forgiveness of sin before asking for healing.). 3 And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth (They thought evil instead of being thankful.). 4 And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? 5 For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk? 6 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house (The power of God placed in the priest at the Temple.). 7 And he arose, and departed to his house. 8 But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men. Matthew 9:1-8) (The Bible tells us 17 And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them. 18 And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him. 19 And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus. 20 And when he saw their faith, he said unto him, Man, thy sins are forgiven thee. 21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone? 22 But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answering said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts? 23 Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk (It s not an issue that I can do it, anybody can say it, only God could do it so they were in the wrong.)? 24 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (he said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house. 25 And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God. 26 And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things to day. Luke 5:17-26)

2 And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them (What Moses and the Prophets recorded-this is what they preached.). (The Bible tells us 17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. Ephesians 2:17) (The Bible tells us 3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; Hebrews 2:3) 3 And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four. 4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press (crowd) (They were zealous that He could heal.), they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay. 5 When Jesus saw their faith (What was He impressed their faith.), he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee. (Only God can say that.) (The Bible tells us 3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; 4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; 5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. Psalms 103:3-5) 6 But there was certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, (The Bible tells us 4 But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared. 5 I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope. 6 My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning. Psalm 130:4-6) 7 Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only (They didn t know He was a diverse He was a diverse being.)? (The Bible tells us 25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. Isaiah 43:25) (The Bible tells us 33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Romans 8:33) 8 And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts? (The Bible tells us 13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do (God knows why we don t keep the Sabbath; no one can hide form God; all will give account.). Hebrews 4:13) 9 Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk (Anyone can say your sins are forgiven like a priest but nothing happens.)?

10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy, (Permission from God-authority from God.) 11 I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house. (Only the given permission by God can do both.) 12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion. (The Bible tells us 33 And when the devil was cast out, the dumb (mute) spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel. Matthew 9:33) (Never saw anything like this.) JESUS EATS WITH SINNERS AT MATTHEWS HOUSE 13 And he went forth again by the sea side; and all the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them. (The Bible tells us 9 And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom (tax office): and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him. 10 And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house (Matthew house.), behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples. 11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners (The house was opened to all kinds.)? 12 But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. 13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Matthew 9:9-13) (About the coming kingdom of God and repentance.) 14 And as he passed by, he saw Levi the son of Alphaeus sitting at the receipt of custom (from the Levitical priesthood.), and said unto him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him. 15 And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him. (They were in a mode of repentance because they knew who He was.) 16 And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners? (The Bible tells us 5 Which say, Stand by thyself (keep to yourself), come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day. 6 Behold, it is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense (repay), even recompense into their bosom, Isaiah 65:5-6) 17 When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to

repentance. (Spiritual sickness-need help but the scribes and Pharisees did there own thing and didn t feed the people. Just like today weren t fulfilling their duty.) RELIGIOUS LEADERS ASK JESUS ABOUT FASTING. 18 And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees used to fast: and they come and say unto him, Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not? 18 And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees used to fast: and they come and say unto him, Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not? (They knew they were supposed to fast.) (The Bible tells us 14 Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not? 15 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast. 16 No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse. 17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved. Matthew 9:14-17) (The Bible tells us 5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called. Isaiah 54:5) (The Bible tells us 29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. John 3:29) (The Bible tells us 7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready (Marriage of His people, Israel; when you walk in obedience you wear a robe). Revelation 19:7) 19 And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast. (Exceptions He is saying; his disciples, the children of Israel when not with the groom-then fast.) (When we are with the Groom we are feasting-celebration.) 20 But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days. (So fasting is not done away with; draw near to God.) 21 No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old, and the rent is made worse. (Don t mix manmade teaching with God teaching; they won t mix.) 22 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be

put into new bottles. (The Bible tells us 3 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you (pinned upward to a stake-styros.)? 2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith (This message that Christ died and wrestle with.)? 3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh (Were obedient to the law of God but did it one their own apart from the spirit of the of God.)? THE DISCIPLES PICK WHEAT ON THE SABBATH DAY 23 And it came to pass, that he went through the corn (Grain) fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn. (The Bible tells us 25 When thou comest into the standing corn of thy neighbour, then thou mayest pluck the ears with thine hand; but thou shalt not move a sickle unto thy neighbour's standing corn. Deuteronomy 23:25) (The Bible tells us 12 At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn (grain); and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn and to eat (God is merciful and said take what you want to eat but don t fill your cart.). 2 But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him (Who told them that; invented their own laws.), Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day. 3 But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him; 4 How he entered into the house of God, and did eat the showbread (Hallowed bread.), which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests (God is merciful-not and everyday practice; was not there to disobey the law of God.)? 5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless (Mean thou shalt not work but the priests can.)? 6 But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple. 7 But if ye had known what this meaneth (They were strict and disciplined; no mercy.), I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless. 8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath (Not Sunday) day. Matthew 12:1-8) (The Bible tells us 25 When thou comest into the standing corn (grain) of thy neighbour, then thou mayest pluck the ears with thine hand; but thou shalt not move a sickle unto thy neighbour's standing corn (grain). Deuteronomy 23:25) (The Bible tells us 6 And it came to pass on the second sabbath after the first, that he went through the corn fields; and his disciples plucked the ears of corn, and did eat, rubbing them in their hands (On the Sabbath He did this and the next Sabbath He did something else.). 2 And certain of the Pharisees said unto them, Why do ye that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath days? 3 And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungred, and

they which were with him; 4 How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the showbread (Hallowed bread), and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone (God made the law.)? 5 And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the Sabbath (When the life of a person is at stake it is o. k. to dishonor the Sabbath; to sit it aside of the Law of God. Ox in the ditch; house burning.) 24 And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful? 25 And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him? (The Bible tells us 30 And thou shalt set upon the table shewbread (Hollowed bread.) before me alway. Exodus 25:30) (The Bible tells us 32 And Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram, and the bread that is in the basket by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. 33 And they shall eat those things wherewith the atonement was made, to consecrate and to sanctify them: but a stranger shall not eat thereof, because they are holy. Exodus 29:32-33) (The Bible tells us 9 And it shall be Aaron's and his sons'; and they shall eat it in the holy place: for it is most holy unto him of the offerings of the LORD made by fire by a perpetual statute. Leviticus 24:9) (The Bible tells us 21 Then came David to Nob to Ahimelech the priest: and Ahimelech was afraid at the meeting of David, and said unto him, Why art thou alone, and no man with thee? 21 Then came David to Nob to Ahimelech the priest: and Ahimelech was afraid at the meeting of David, and said unto him, Why art thou alone, and no man with thee? 2 And David said unto Ahimelech the priest, The king hath commanded me a business, and hath said unto me, Let no man know any thing of the business whereabout I send thee, and what I have commanded thee: and I have appointed my servants to such and such a place. 3 Now therefore what is under thine hand? give me five loaves of bread in mine hand, or what there is present. 4 And the priest answered David, and said, There is no common bread under mine hand, but there is hallowed bread; if the young men have kept themselves at least from women. 5 And David answered the priest, and said unto him, Of a truth women have been kept from us about these three days, since I came out, and the vessels of the young men are holy, and the bread is in a manner common, yea, though it were sanctified this day in the vessel. 6 So the priest gave him hallowed bread: for there was no bread there but the shewbread, that was taken from before the LORD, to put hot bread in the day when it was taken away. I Samuel 21:1-6 ) (If you need to care for human life; you care for them. If house is on fire don t wait until Sabbath is over.) 26 How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the showbread (Hollowed bread.), which is not lawful to eat but for the priests,

and gave also to them which were with him? (Another circumstance, not a change in the Law of God, but don t take advantage of it.) 27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: (Understand the principle.) (The Bible tells us 12 Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest: that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed. Exodus 23:12) (The Bible tells us 14 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; that thy manservant and thy maidservant may rest as well as thou. Deuteronomy 5:14) (The Bible tells us 21 Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel. 22 Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man. 23 If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day? 24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. John 7:21-24) 28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the Sabbath (7 th day; not Sunday.). JESUS DECRIBES HIS TRUE FAMILY 31 There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him. (The Bible tells us 46 While he yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him. 47 Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. 48 But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren (Trying to make a point.)? 49 And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, (Here are) Behold my mother and my brethren! 50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. Matthew 12:46-50) (The Bible tells us 55 Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? Matthew 13:55) (The Bible tells us 19 Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press (The family come home there is big crowd.). 20 And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee. 21 And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it (If you do not do the will of my Father; are not His.) Luke 8:19-21) (The Bible tells us 3 His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy

disciples also may see the works that thou doest. 4 For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret (that s the problem), and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world (Why hide it.). 5 For neither did his brethren believe in him (If they had believed in Him and understood Him they would ve understood it was not the time.). John 7:3-5) 32 And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee (They were trying to get into their home.). 33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? (Spiritually speaking.) 34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! (The Bible tells us 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Romans 8:29) (The Bible tells us 11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren (We are His brothers; same level. 12 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. ), Hebrews 2:11-12) 35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother. MEMORY VERSE And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the Sabbath (7 th day; not Sunday.).
