For hymns, please stand when the choir stands. + + + + Arriving worshipers may be seated. WELCOME The Reverend Susan Dee Reisinger (Please sign and pass the frie ndship pad, found in the pew, to the person next to you.) MOMENT FOR MISSION: Stewardship The Alessio Family BELL VOLUNTARY (9:15 & 11:00) Andante in F minor Michael Helman The Chancel Ringers *CALL TO WORSHIP (responsively) God has surrounded us with a great cloud of witnesses, Rev. Reisinger These witnesses are the saint and martyrs, faithful people in every age. Strengthened by their witness, Supported by their fellowship, We can run with perseverance the race that is set before us. Praying that with them we will receive the unfading crown of glory. Let us worship God. *HYMN 138 Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty! Nicaea Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty! Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee. Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty, God in three persons, blessed Trinity! Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore thee, casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea; cherubim and seraphim falling down before thee, which wert, and art, and evermore shalt be. Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide thee, though the eye of sinfulness thy glory may not see, only thou art holy; there is none beside thee, perfect in power, in love and purity. Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty! All thy works shall praise thy name, in earth and sky and sea.

Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty, God in three persons, blessed Trinity. CALL TO CONFESSION UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION Eternal God, in every age you have raised up men and women to live and die in faith. We confess that we are indifferent to your will. You call us to proclaim your name, but we are often silent. You call us to do what is just, but we often remain idle. Give us courage to follow in your way; that joined with those from ages past who have served you with faith hope and love we may inherit the kingdom you promised in Jesus Christ. Amen SILENT PERSONAL CONFESSION ASSURANCE OF PARDON *RESPONSE TO ASSURANCE OF PARDON (from Great Is Thy Faithfulness, Hymn 276) Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see; All I have needed Thy hand hath provided; Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me! FIRST SCRIPTURE LESSON: I John 3:1-3 Karen May (9:15) (NRSV New Testament, page 225) Rev. Alloway (11:00) *IN REMEMBRANCE OF THE CHURCH TRIUMPHANT ANTHEM (9:15) Hail, Glorious Spirits, Heirs of Light Christopher Tye Hail, glorious spirits, heirs of light, the highborn sons of fire, souls burn clear, whose flames shine bright; all joy, yet all desire. Hail, all you happy souls above who make that glorious ring about the sparkling throne of love, and there forever sing. ANTHEM (11:00) I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say Donald Busarow I heard the voice of Jesus say, "Come unto me and rest; lay down, O weary one, lay down your head upon my breast." I came to Jesus as I was, so weary, worn, and sad; I found in him a resting place, and he has made me glad. I heard the voice of Jesus say, "Behold, I freely give the living water, thirsty one; stoop down and drink and live." I came to Jesus, and I drank of that life-giving stream; my thirst was quenched, my soul revived, and now I live in him, I live in him. I heard the voice of Jesus say, "I am this dark world's light; look unto me, your morn shall rise, and all your day be bright." I looked to Jesus, and I found in him my star, my sun; and in that light of life I'll walk till trav'ling days are done. SECOND SCRIPTURE LESSON: Hebrews 11: 29-40 (NRSV New Testament, page 212)

PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION Calm us now, O Lord, into a quietness that heals and listens. Open wounded hearts to the balm of your Word. Speak to us in clear tones so that we might feel our spirits leap for joy and skip with hope as your resurrection witnesses. Amen SERMON For All the Saints Rev. Reisinger *HYMN 141 A Hymn of Glory Let Us Sing Deo Gracias A hymn of glory let us sing, new hymns throughout the world shall ring; by a new way none ever trod Christ takes his place--the throne of God! You are a present joy, O Lord; you will be ever our reward; and great the light in you we see to guide us to eternity. O risen Christ, ascended Lord, all praise to you let earth accord, who are, while endless ages run, with Father and with Spirit One. OFFERING OURSELVES AND OUR GIFTS TO GOD OFFERTORY (9:15) Ave Verum Corpus William Byrd Ave verum Corpus, natum de Maria Virgine: Vere passum, immolatum in cruce pro homine: Cuius latus perforatum unda fluxit sanguine: Esto nobis praegustatum in mortis examine. O dulcis, O pie, O Jesu Fili Mariae, miserere mei. Amen. Hail, O hail true body spotless virgin s virgin birth: Thou who truly hangedst weary upon the cruel cross: Thou whose sacred side was riven, whence the stream of water and blood did flow: O may st thou, dear Lord be given at death s hour to be my food. O tender, O loving, O Jesu Son of Mary, show on me thy mercy. Amen. OFFERTORY (11:00) Here, O My Lord, I See Thee Face to Face Swenson/Robison Here, O my Lord, I see thee face to face; here would I touch and handle things unseen; Here grasp with firmer hand eternal grace, and all my weariness upon thee lean. Here would I feed upon the bread of God, here drink with thee the royal wine of heav n; here taste afresh the calm of sin forgiv n. I have no help but thine, nor do I need another arm save thine to lean upon; it is enough, my Lord, enough in deed; my strength is in thy might, thy might alone. This is the hour of banquet and song; let feasting still prolong this hour of fellowship with thee. Mine is the sin, but thine the righteousness; mine is the guilt, but thine the cleansing blood. Here is my robe, my refuge, and my peace; thy blood, thy righteousness, O Lord, my God.

*RESPONSE (from Hymn 414, vs 3) With gratitude and humble trust we bring our best to you. Not just to serve your cause, but share your love with neighbors too. O God who gave yourself to us in Jesus Christ your son, Help us to give ourselves each day until life s work is done. PRAYER OF DEDICATION SACRAMENT OF COMMUNION INVITATION TO THE TABLE THE GREAT PRAYER OF THANKSGIVING God is in this place. God s love surrounds you That same love surrounds you as well. People of God, lift up your hearts. We lift them to the One who reshapes our hearts into grace. People of God, give thanks to the Lord our God. We praise the One who has shaped us for love and service. THE LORD S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. THE WORDS OF INSTITUTION DISTRIBUTION OF THE ELEMENTS (To signify our oneness in Christ, worshipers are asked to hold the bread until everyone has been served. The cup may be drunk as soon as it is received, indicating our individual relationships with Christ.) COMMUNION VOLUNTARIES Voluntary in A minor John James Gently Moving Huge Distler PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION Eternal God, we give you thanks for this holy mystery in which you have given yourself to us. Grant that we may go into the world in the strength of your Spirit to give ourselves for others in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

*HYMN For All the Saints Sine Nomine For all the saints who from their labors rest, Who Thee by faith before the world confessed, Thy Name, O Jesus, be forever blest. Alleluia! Alleluia! Thou wast their rock, their fortress, and their might; Thou, Lord, their captain in the well-fought fight; Thou, in the darkness drear, their one true Light. Alleluia! Alleluia! O may Thy soldiers, faithful, true, and bold, Fight as the saints who nobly fought of old, And win with them the victor's crown of gold. Alleluia! Alleluia! O blest communion, fellowship divine! We feebly struggle, they in glory shine; Yet all are one in Thee, for all are Thine. Alleluia! Alleluia! And when the fight is fierce, the warfare long, Steals on the ear the distant triumph song, And hearts are brave again, and arms are strong. Alleluia! Alleluia! From earth's wide bound, from ocean's farthest coast, Through gates of pearl streams in the countless host, Singing to Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, Alleluia! Alleluia! *BENEDICTION BENEDICTION ANTHEM (9:15) This Is the Day Anon. 16 th Century English This is the day which the Lord hath made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. BENEDICTION ANTHEM (11:00) Ave Verum Corpus W. A. Mozart Ave, verum corpus natum de Maria Virgine vere passum immolatum in cruce pro homine. Cujus latus perforatum unda fluxit et sanguine. Esto nobis praegustatum in mortis examine. Jesu, word of God incarnate, of the Virgin Mary born: on the cross thy sacred body, for us all with nails was torn. Cleanse us by the blood and water streaming from thy pierced side. Feed us with thy body broken, now and in death's agony. The congregation is requested to remain seated during the concluding anthem. If you must leave, please do so respectfully.
