We will head for Capernaum. In Jesus time, fishing villages dotted the northern shores. This is where Jesus called most of his disciples, and he set up his ministry headquarters After Jesus was baptized and then tempted in the desert he returned to his home region of Galilee in northern Israel. But he didn t go back home to Nazareth. Rather, he moved to Capernaum, known as a trading hub and fishing village, but also known for farming and light industry, such as processing olive oil. Capernaum became his home town (Matthew 9:1). Capernaum saw the best Jesus had to offer: profound teachings, countless healings, and astonishing exorcisms. Yet Capernaum also drew his worst rebuke: (Matthew 11:23-24). We will visit the Mount of the Beatitudes to gain a panoramic vista of the Sea of Galilee. Here Jesus preached his famous Sermon on the Mount We will also visit Tabgha, the fruitful garden, where Jesus fed five thousand people (Mark 6:30-46), and we shall see the magnificent mosaic commemorating the miracle of the multiplication. Drive through the Jordan Valley and drive on up through the Judean hills, Stop at the traditional Baptismal Site (Qasr El Yahoud). We shall pass to the town of Jericho and visit Tel Jericho, the most ancient city in the world. We also stop at the Sycamore Tree which believed that Zacchaeus had climbed up a Sycamore Tree as he wanted to catch a glimpse of this wonderful savior then we stop to view Mt Temptation where Jesus spent forty days and forty nights fasting and meditating during the temptation of Satan. Proceed to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight in Jerusalem. Day 7 October 22,2017 Sunday Church of Visitation, Ein Karem, Shepherd s Fields, Bethlehem After breakfast we will travel to the small village of of Ein Karem. We stop to visit the Shrine of the Book the home of Dead Sea scrolls and Jerusalem Model during Jesus time.in the afternoon we drive to the Shepherd's Fields where the angels announced the birth of Jesus. A visit to Bethlehem would not be complete without seeing the fields where shepherds watched their flocks and saw the angels proclaiming the birth of Christ. Two churches mark the spot where the shepherds were sitting: A Greek church stands in the field, while the Franciscan Church of the Angels covers the caves where the shepherds lived. Then we visit the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. Here we can kneel in the Grotto the birth place of our redeemer. The Church was built above the Grotto of the Nativity. The tiny Grotto of the Nativity is down some rather dark stone steps, a faded mosaic on the altar and a silver star on the floor mark the spot where Jesus was born. You will also visit the Basilica of St. Catherine build on the foundations of a Crusader Church erected in the twelfth century. Page 3 of 5

We will visit the Rock of Agony where Jesus spent his last hours in solitude and prayed His last prayer before his arrest. Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me. Yet not my will but yours be done." (Luke. 22:40-46) We will also visit The Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu, dedicated to Peter s denials. In the early morning we retrace the last steps of Jesus as we walk the Via Dolorosa, praying the Stations of the Cross. We reflect on the greatness of His sacrifice as he bore the burden of our sins on the Cross at Golgotha. Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing (Luke 23:34). We arrive at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre for Mass The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the heart of the Christian Quarter, covers Calvary (Golgotha in Hebrew). The Holy Sepulchre is actually a cluster of 5 churches, some with a bigger part of the communal space than others. For visitors, it can be difficult to distinguish between Armenian and Greek Orthodox, Syrian Orthodox, Roman Catholic and Abyssinian Coptic, and there s always a service going on somewhere in the maze, chanting in different languages, the air heavy with incense and bearded priests scuttling around in the dim light. In the afternoon we will visit St Anne s Church, the home of the Virgin Mary and her parents, Saints Joachim and Anne. We will also visit the Wailing Wall, also known as the Western Wall It is a 187-foot-high section of the ancient wall of Herod s Temple. "Who Is the Man of the Shroud?" This permanent exhibit is a religious and scientific display of the various studies on the Shroud of Turin.
