FRIDAY S WORKSHOPS 24 WORKSHOPS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON FRIDAY SOME WILL BE REPEATED FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE ON SATURDAY

WORKSHOP 1 FRIDAY: 2:55-3:55 THE HEART OF A TEACHER What makes a good teacher able to reach the hearts of children? In this workshop we will look at some methods that Jesus used when He taught, tips to effectively use the little extra minutes in our classes, and how to EASILY learn a Bible story in our own preparation time and to retell it from memory. Teacher: Barbie Enterline Location: Room 106 Repeated on Saturday in Workshop 6. ARE YOU A TEACHER OR A LECTURER? Do you struggle to keep your elementary-age students attention? Are your students not engaged during the Bible study? Do they even understand the study? In this workshop we will look at a tool that, when rightly used, will engage the children in the Bible study, help you know if they understand, take them back to God s Word as the final authority, and help prepare them for responding to God through His Word. This simple, yet profound, tool is questions! Teacher: Annie Enterline Location: Room 107 THREE PRIORITIES FOR THE CHILDREN S MINISTER IN THE CLASSROOM Sometimes we don t realize that God has already trained and prepared us for the ministry. In this workshop we will examine King David s life, and learn how God prepared him for effective ministry to His people. Teacher: Craig Arnhart Location: Room 110 TEACHING 4 & 5 YEAR OLDS Pre-schoolers are so special and in this workshop we will look at age-appropriate methods to teach these little ones about Jesus. Their hearts are open and they are ready to learn. Let s impact them with the love of Jesus! Teacher: Rebekah Enterline Location: Room 112 Repeated on Saturday in Workshop 7. PUPPETS: VISION {ISAIAH 6:8} See the people, the need, the lost and the incredible opportunity to go where no Puppeteer has gone before. By Family and by community, the draw on this ministry is unbelievable! Teacher: Kevin O Neil Location: Grace Building Repeated on Saturday in Workshop 5. CONTINUED ON NEXT PAGE

WORKSHOP 1 CONTINUED FRIDAY: 2:55-3:55 TEACHING CHILDREN TO PRAY God s design from the beginning is that people, young and old, would have a relationship with their Creator. But, knowing that no relationship is stronger than its communication, it becomes vital that we communicate with God. For without communication, the relationship becomes distant. But, through the glorious privilege of prayer, we are drawn into the very presence of a wonderful Holy God. Children too, can experience the blessing of talking with God through prayer. It is important that we teach them this while they are still young and this is what will be discussed in this workshop. Teacher: Dalton O Neal Location: Potter s House BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS WITH YOUR STUDENTS! The most important aspect of your position as a teacher is your relationship with the children. As you build personal relationships/friendships with each child, there will be benefits that stem from bonding with your students. There will be less need for discipline, greater and deeper times of discipleship, and MORE LOVE! (John 13:34-35) We will consider helpful ways you can build deeper, closer relationships with your children. Teacher: John Deming Location: Overflow Room Repeated on Saturday in Workshop 7. ARE WE TEACHING THE CHILDREN HOW TO RESPOND TO GOD? Do you want to learn a simple, yet wonderful, way to read and respond to God s Word? Connect, not just your head, but your heart to God and His Word. This simple concept can revolutionize your walk with the Lord, as well as the children you teach! We often just teach the children about God, but we need to teach them how to meet with God through His Word, in fellowship. Teacher: Larry Enterline Location: Sanctuary

WORKSHOP 2 FRIDAY: 4:05-5:05 TEACHING 2 YEAR OLDS & 3 YEAR OLDS Pre-schoolers are so special and in this workshop we will look at age-appropriate methods to teach these little ones about Jesus. Let s impact them with the love of Jesus! Teacher: Daniel & Natalie Riddles Location: Room 102 OVERSEEING A CHILDREN S MINISTRY Is the Children s Ministry a complete mystery to you? Join us as we look at what the Bible has to say about being an effective leader, raising up new leaders, and how to overcome the unique challenges that Children s Ministries encounter. Teacher: Steve West Location: Room 106 Repeated on Saturday in Workshop 7. NO WORSHIP LEADER NO PROBLEM Having no worship leader in Children s Ministry classes can be a problem. What do you do now? Do you sing accapella or do you not sing at all? This class will give you an easy alternative for worship that has revolutionized our worship in the classes at our church. Worship our Lord with pre-recorded worship songs. You don t think that will work? Come and see! Teacher: Matt Enterline Location: Room 107 101 WAYS TO LEARN YOUR MEMORY VERSE Teaching memory verses is an important component of Children s Ministry. The memorization of God s Word is to place it into the children s hearts, and there are a variety of ways to ensure that it will remain with them. This workshop will give you some ideas to get started. Teacher: Ruth Heise Location: Room 109 Repeated on Saturday in Workshop 6. TEACHING 2 ND GRADE With hearts still tender, and the ability to understand, these young ones can receive and respond to the Lord. Learn how to reach your second graders with the love of Jesus. Teacher: Kevin O Neil Location: Grace Building Repeated on Saturday in Workshop 7. HOW TO USE CALVARY CURRICULUM S CHILDREN S CURRICULUM TO TEACH CHILDREN The Children s Curriculum is based on a verse-by-verse approach to teaching, a Calvary Distinctive. This approach for children is understandable, clear, in order, and lays an unshakeable foundation for the child s adult years. As we explore the history, we will look at examples of Children s Ministry done right. Teacher: Steve West Location: Room 110 EVANGELISTIC CRAFTS THAT KEEP ON SPEAKING Children s Ministry events and outreaches often involve crafts. Kids love making crafts.
