14-DAY Prayer Journey Thank you for downloading our 14-Day Prayer Journey! We are so excited to have you alongside us as we pray for Deaf people around the world. Did you know that 70 million people in the world use sign language to communicate on a daily basis? Of those 70 million, 80% do not have a sufficient formal education available to them and, therefore, cannot understand the written Bible. 95% of Deaf people do not have a Bible in their sign language, and the need for prayer for this population is immense. Throughout this Prayer Journey, you will see blanks. If you would like to pray for a specific person, people group, country, etc., insert that name into the blank in the prayer. And, if you enjoy this Journey, please text PRAY to 444999 to receive even more prayer points from us. Now, let s begin praying for one of the largest unreached people groups!
DAY 1 Pray for people separated from God to be saved Ephesians 2:12 Remember that at that time you were separated from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of promise, without hope and without God in the World. Dear Lord, I pray for who is/are separated from Christ and Your promises. May they become people with a hope who are part of Your family. DAY 2 Pray that Deaf people will learn of the depths of Christ s love Ephesians 3:17b-19 And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ. Dear Lord, I pray for that they may begin to learn how wide and long and high and deep Your love is, and that knowing that will draw them to faith in You. DAY 3 Pray that Deaf people will hunger for God s Word Matthew 4:4 Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every Word that comes from the mouth of God. Dear Lord, Matthew 4:4 says that man shall not live on bread alone, but on every Word that comes from the mouth of God. I pray that Your Word will soon be translated accurately into all the sign languages of the world. DAY 4 Pray that God will send workers into his harvest field Matthew 9:37-38 Then Jesus said to his disciples, The harvest is huge. But there are only a few workers. So ask the Lord of the harvest to send workers out into his harvest field. Dear Jesus, thank you again for another reminder of the great harvest of souls that is out there. Please send forth workers to bring more Deaf people into Your family.
DAY 5 DAY 6 Pray that Deaf would know God s love for them John 3:16 God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son. Anyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life. Dear Father, thank you for Your amazing love for the whole world. Thank you that You sent Jesus to die for sinners. I pray for that they will come to You and be saved. And I pray for all the Deaf around the world, that they would know you love them tremendously. Pray for forgiving hearts among people in the Deaf community Throughout the world, Deaf people are often cast out of their communities, physically and emotionally abused, and taught false doctrine about the Bible. We would like to pray that they learn the truth about God s love for them. Matthew 18:35 Unless you forgive your brother or sister from your heart. Father, you want us to be forgiving people. Help us to forgive our brothers and sisters who have offended or hurt us. DAY 7 Pray that God will give the church a love for its enemies Matthew 5:43-45 You have heard that it was said, Love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous." Lord, give Your church a love for their enemies and prayers for those who persecute them.
In many countries, there are no Deaf churches or Christian resources for the Deaf within hearing churches. Deaf Bible Society s Scripture Engagement team helps train Deaf leaders who can teach their communities about God s Word in their heart sign language. We would like to pray for these Deaf leaders and their communities. DAY 8 Pray that God s Word in sign languages would be used for teaching 2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage--with great patience and careful instruction. Father God, may your Word in sign language help Deaf Christians to preach the Word, to be prepared all the time and to be able to correct, rebuke, and encourage rightly. DAY 9 Pray for Christians in the Deaf world to keep meeting together Hebrews 10:25 And let us not give up meeting together. Some are in the habit of doing this. Instead, let us encourage one another with words of hope. Let us do this even more as you see Christ s return approaching. Dear Lord, I pray for the people who are Your church. May we keep meeting together and not stop. May we encourage one another with words of hope more and more because Christ s return is coming nearer. DAY 10 Pray for the church to be filled with the knowledge of God s will Colossians 1:9,10 For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives,10 so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God Dear Lord, may Your church be filled with the knowledge of God s will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding, and bear fruit for Your glory.
DAY 11 Pray that God s people would make Deaf disciples in all nations Matt 28:18-20 Then Jesus came to them and said,'all Authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything.' Dear Jesus, thank you for Your words in Matthew 28:18-20. I pray that Your people would accept Your call, and that as they go, they would make disciples for You, baptizing new believers in Christ and teaching them to obey Your commandments. DAY 12 Pray for an increase of Christians in the Deaf Community Only 2% of the world s Deaf population have access to God s Word in their heart language. As Deaf communities gain access to God s Word for their first time, we pray that they have a deep understanding of it, and can build up a community of believers to walk together. Acts 6:7 So the Word of God spread. The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith. Dear God, spread Your Word in the Deaf community. Increase the number of Christians there. Please change hearts so that Your people in the Deaf community become more obedient to You. DAY 13 Pray that God will transform his people Romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God s will is His good and pleasing and perfect will. Lord, I pray for Your children who are in the Deaf world. May our hearts not follow the world s ways, but be changed and made new. May You show us Your will. DAY 14 Pray that God will help us leave our old life and embrace a new life in Christ Ephesians 4:22-24 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. Dear Lord, help Your people to put off the old life with its deceitful desires. Make them new in the attitude of their minds and help them to put on the new self that is created to be like You in true righteousness and holiness.
