January 2018 We were so blessed during the month of December by our choir concerts and programs. The Selah concert was unbelievable! What an amazing night. The Youth s Christmas program and the children s choir program were wonderful. Thank you for all your hard work.

13 But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13b- 14) We live in a very strange time. It is a time when a popular singer can be broadly criticized for thanking her fans on her 28th birthday, saying that she Couldn t have asked for a better year. Others, looking back at 2017 may have experienced the year very differently than Miss Swift. But, whether your 2017 was the best year ever, or one through which you held on to the old adage that this too shall pass, the New Year gives us an opportunity to reset our goals and mark a new beginning. As a Church, let us resolve to reach forward to what lies ahead, and press on toward the goal of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Let us, therefor resolve to Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let our requests be made known to God. (Philippians 4:6) Holding to the truth that I (we) can do all things through Him who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13) 2018 will be a year of new opportunities, new challenges and new mercies. Through the Lord s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22,23 NKJV) Let us each resolve to be more like Jesus during 2018 than we were during 2017. May our Lord Jesus bless you and keep you In Christ, Dr. Gary Redding

Sympathy to: Sonny Cade on the loss of his sister, Carolyn Choate. Joy Pillow on the loss of her mother, Elizabeth Johnson. The family of Imogene Trotter. Nadine Crook on the loss of her sister, Marie Haase. Happy New Year!!!! I have to begin my article by reflecting on an event from last year. I have to give a huge thank you to all of you who volunteered to make the Selah concert night such an incredible success. I would love to mention each and every one of you by name in the article, but it would fill up the entire newsletter. Thank you all so much for the sacrifices you made to be here and work so hard! I am still getting notes and emails, from non-church members, thanking the church for putting together that night and they let me know how worshipful it was. Now looking ahead! 2018 is going to be an incredible year! So much will be going on in the music ministry, so find your spot to be involved! If you have any questions just let me know! Congratulations to: Bart Brandon & Rachel Allen on the birth of their daughter, Jenna Lyn. Michael & Leanne Peace on the birth of their grandson, Gideon
