Welcome Made One by Christ News for the Good of the Church Prelude O Radiant Light Willan Choral Call to Worship Opening Prayer *Hymn #673 Jesus, Light of Joy Clothed by Christ Moment of Silence Corporate Prayer of Confession All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, yet we are justified by the gift of God s grace through the redemption that is ours in Christ Jesus. Trusting in God s grace, let us confess our sin. God of glory, we confess that we have not sought Your face. We adore the high and mighty and ignore Your humble servant. We act with prejudice and partiality and fail to share Your love for all. Forgive us, God of grace. Pour out the power of Your Spirit and renew us in our calling: to show the wonder of Your love, through Jesus Christ our Lord. As a voice from heaven said to Jesus, so, in Christ, God speaks to us: You are my child, my beloved; with you I am well pleased. In the name of Jesus Christ, we are forgiven! Thanks be to God. Sharing of Christ s Peace * Song of Praise, We Are Singing We are singing for the Lord is our Light; we are singing for the Lord is our Light. (Repeat) We are singing, singing; we are singing, Oh, we are singing for the Lord is our Light. (Repeat) Repeat using the word praying for singing.

Presentation of Tithes and Offerings Choral Musical Offering The Lord Is My Light Psalm 27, David Haas *Doxology Hymn #606 Praise God, from Whom All Blessings Flow Service of Installation There are different gifts, But it is the same Spirit who gives them. There are different ways of serving God, But it is the same Lord who is served. God works through different men and women in different ways, But it is the same God who achieves His purpose through them all. Each one is given a gift by the Spirit, To use it for the common good. Together we are the body of Christ, And individually members of Him. Welcome Elders Betty Bartlett and Kay Kidd who have been elected to serve as members of the Session, class of 2019. Questions of Installation Questions to Newly Installed Elders Do you welcome the work for which you have been chosen, and will you serve the people with energy, intelligence, imagination, and love, relying on God s mercy and rejoicing in His promises through Jesus Christ our Lord? Do you and will you? Questions to the Congregation Do we, members of the church, accept Betty and Kay as elders chosen by God through the voice of this congregation, to lead us in the way of Jesus Christ? Do you? Do we agree to encourage them, to respect their decisions, and to follow as they guide us, serving Jesus Christ, who alone is head of the church? Prayer of Dedication Prayers of the people and the Lord s Prayer Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Time with the Children * Hymn #726 Will You Come and Follow Me? Welcoming New Members The Session of First Presbyterian Church joyfully introduces and invites you to join them in welcoming our new members: Grace Bryant Reaffirmation of Faith Nancy Frazier Reaffirmation of Faith Matthew Goodrich Reaffirmation of Faith Lou Wilhite Reaffirmation of Faith Question to New Members Do you promise to be a faithful member of this congregation, giving of yourself in every way, and so fulfill your calling as a disciple of Jesus Christ the Lord? * Affirmation of Faith the Apostles Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen * Hymn #720 Jesus Calls Us Charge A Blessing in Music Postlude Benoit * Benediction (sung) Taking Christ s Blessing to the World The Lord Is My Light The Lord is my light and my salvation; of whom should I be afraid; of whom should I be afraid? The Lord is my light and my help; whom should I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; before whom should I shrink? There is one thing I ask of the Lord; for this I long, to live in the house of the Lord All the days of my life. I believe I shall see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living; hope in Him, and take heart; hope in the Lord!
