Chocolate money or make pretending coins. *Use big book show pictures and talk about the story. Read to children. Jesus was in the temple church. He saw a very rich man put some money in the offering box making a big noise and looking so proud of himself. He knew everyone was watching him. It was easy for him to give lots of money because she was very rich and he had plenty more money at home. He liked people to think he was a very important man. A poor lady went quietly to the box. She only had two tiny coins. She could have used it to buy food but it was her love gift to God. Jesus said this little lady has given more than the rich man because she gave it all with so much love for God.
Show how if we all give a small amount together it makes a lot that can help people. What do we spend the money on that people bring to church and put in the offering? Lights, chairs, story books, poor people in other countries poor people near where we live. etc etc. Activity : Two Chocolate Money coins in a folding card purse. Small story book to take home.
