SPONSORSHIP PACKET SUPPORT THE FIFTH NATIONAL ENCUENTRO

Personal Invitation from Archbishop José H. Gomez, Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS, and Bishop Nelson Pérez This is a historic moment for the Church in the United States. The number of Hispanic/Latino Catholics is greater than ever and will continue to grow. The Church is now turning to a new generation of Hispanic/ Latino leaders who, like previous generations, are gifting the Catholic Church with their rich spiritual tradition and their witness of God s love. Together we can identify a path of encounter and accompaniment that will bring unity in diversity and form Catholics as true missionary disciples. The V Encuentro will shape the Catholic Church in the United States for generations to come. More than one million Catholics across the nation are engaged in the V Encuentro process. We personally invite you to join in this process through your generous support as sponsors of the National Event. Your gifts can fulfill the hopes and vision of our Church leadership and members. We appreciate your consideration of our invitation. Be assured of our gratitude for your attention to our request. God Bless you, Most Rev. Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS Most Rev. Nelson J. Pérez Most Rev. José H. Gomez Chairman Chairman USCCB Vice-President Committee on Cultural Diversity in the Church Subcommittee on Hispanic Affairs Honorary Chairman V Encuentro V Encuentro Development Team We need to become ever more fully a community of missionary disciples, filled with love of the Lord Jesus and enthusiasm for the spread of the Gospel. ~Pope Francis Fifth Encuentro Prayer God of infinite Mercy, you sent your Risen Son to encounter the disciples on the way to Emmaus. Grant us today a missionary spirit and send us forth to encounter our sisters and brothers: V ENCUENTRO 2 to walk with them in friendship, to listen to their hopes and dreams with compassion, and to proclaim your Word with courage, so that they might come to know you once again in the breaking of the Bread. Make us all missionary disciples, and stay with us always, as we seek to share the joy of the Gospel with people of all generations, from every race, language, culture, and nation. We ask you this with burning hearts, filled with the Holy Spirit, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, and through the loving intercession of our Blessed Mother Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Star of the New Evangelization in the Americas. Amen.

THE V NATIONAL ENCUENTRO September 20-23, 2018 Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center, Grapevine, TX The V National Encuentro of Hispanic/Latino Ministry is a multi-year process aimed at discerning ways in which the Church in the United States can better respond to the Hispanic presence, by better recognizing, embracing, and promoting the many gifts and talents that the Hispanic community offers to the church. The V Encuentro seeks to strengthen the ways in which Hispanics respond to the call to the New Evangelization as missionary disciples serving the entire Church. The V National Encuentro will gather over three thousand delegates representing thousands of Catholics who have participated in the V Encuentro local process, in approximately 5,000 parishes, lay ecclesial movements, Catholic organizations and institutions. Over 100 bishops are expected to lead their respective delegations including priests, religious, and lay leaders, young and old, who have been involved in the V Encuentro process of mission, consultation and community building. The V National Encuentro is an opportunity for your organization to play a significant role in reaching out to over 3,000 highly committed and engaged Hispanic/Latino Catholics and other leaders, and to be a part of a process that will significantly impact the future of our Church. If you want to be a part of this historical moment in the life of our Church, join us at the V National Encuentro! 3 SPONSORSHIP PACKET
