The Bishop s Fund Annual Appeal is now in its final stage. For those of you who have been unable to participate this year, please consider doing so. The greater percentage of parishes in our diocese have a lower progress toward their goals in comparison with last year. As a whole, we stand at nearly $100,000 less pledged than last year. Every contribution counts to ensure our diocese has the funds it needs to continue the abundant ministries we all support. Please go to bishopsfund.org for outreach updates. You can select for secure online giving on the Bishop s Fund page. Blessings to all families in our Catholic community of Vermont. Thank you and God Bless, To date, Holy Family/St. Lawrence Parishioners have pledged $57,901.66 which is 80.91% of our goal $71,559.00. Michael Cronogue, SSE. who died suddenly on October 13 th from a heart attack. As you know, Fr. Lino and I belong to the community at the college and since we are a small group we know each other very well and Fr. Mike was a real brother to us. His death was a tragic loss and, with Christian faith, we experience the grief of the passing of a wonderful person who shared the love of Christ with all he encountered. Please pray for us and for eternal rest and peace for Fr. Mike. Please also pray for our community that the Lord will bless us with vocations. The work of evangelizing the baptized is the charism of our community and certainly it is needed especially today. Today, parents often have their children baptized in the faith and neglect to foster this faith by bringing their children to church, providing religious education and sharing their faith by personal witness. Most of us have adult children and siblings who have stop practicing the faith. Sometimes the faith is lost despite the best efforts of the parents. The faith is no longer supported by the culture around us. All of us constantly need to hear the good news and develop a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus and grow in our baptismal identity. Recently at a staff meeting we addressed baptismal instruction and our parish staff hopes to continue to discuss this issue so that we can improve our baptismal instruction. The sacrament of Baptism is not magic but an outward sign which brings us into a life of grace that needs to be nourished. The method of evangelization must always be positive and inviting. Thank God for the gift of Catholic leadership today, especially in the person of Pope Francis and our own Bishop Coyne, who are encouraging us in spreading the good news with a joyful, welcoming approach. God Bless, Your prayers are requested for the safety of our service men and women and support personnel working as peace-keepers and for those who are ill especially ~ Shaun McGuire, Robert Vaccaro, Taylor Blais, Catherine Wiest, Donna Girard, Linda Zeno, Mack Riley, Nina Balch, Guy Domingue, Marc Kamhi, Patricia Reilly, Joseph Deso, John, Alex, Bridget Vitale, Haley Reen, Erna Schmitz, Ray Lamore, Fernando Luis Riganti, Julia Sessa, Sherry Harvey, Andre Domingue, Barbara Slattery, Clara Szell, Janet Bonneau, Eileen Fleiter, Quenten Fabano, Allison, Nora Thomason, Jordan Hutchins, Mary Blais, Joan Penrod, Shirley Aiken, Jeff Boomhower, Steve Stoddard, Katie, Sophie Fellows, Lenore Badolato, Ciera Charbonneau, Al Putlitz, John W.
