MONDAY Today we discovered that God created everything, including us, and that He created each of us uniquely. We learned that He cares for us and knows everything about us. We uncovered the truth that God created us for a special purpose. We heard a story about Jesus explaining that our special purpose is to love God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength. + Ask your child what they learned in their story today about God and how He created them uniquely. + Brainstorm with your child how God made them special and like no one else. + Talk with your child about ways they can fulfill God s purpose for them to love God and others with all their heart, mind, soul, and strength. God created me for a special purpose. + Read Genesis 1 2 to find out how God created the world, us, and everything in it. + Read Exodus 20:1 20 to learn more about the Ten Commandments God gave us as a mission. Pray with your child to thank God for creating us uniquely and with a special purpose. TUESDAY Today we focused on how all of us have sinful natures. We discovered that everyone sins. All of us fall short of the glory of God and because of that we are separated from a relationship with God because God is perfect and we are not. We looked at the story of Jesus and Peter when Peter denied knowing Jesus three times. Peter was so certain he wouldn t stumble, but he ended up hurting Jesus. + Ask your child what sin is. Remind them that sin separates us from God. + Ask what they learned about in the story today. What happened with Jesus and Peter? + How can we ask God for forgiveness when we sin? + Talk with your child about a time that you had to ask God for forgiveness. How did you feel after talking to God about it? Romans 3:23 24, Proverbs 28:13, and 1 John 1:7 9 Pray to thank God for always loving us, being with us, and listening no matter where we go. All of us have sinful natures. Wednesday Tomorrow is Wacky Wednesday. Come to Day Camp tomorrow wearing wacky gear! SING ALONG Want to learn the lyrics to the songs your child is coming home singing? Songs can be found on the online parent page at
WEDNESDAY Today we read about Jesus meeting with the disciples after his resurrection and his conversation with Peter. We learned that even though Peter denied Jesus, Jesus forgives Peter and wants him to lead the church! Our leaders also had an opportunity today to share their stories with your child. They shared about how having a relationship with Jesus changed their lives and could change your child s life too! + Why is Jesus so important? + How does knowing Jesus and what he has done for us change our lives? + How can we follow Jesus and do what he asks? How do we know what Jesus says? Only Jesus can repair my relationship with God. Isaiah 43:1 13, Isaiah 53 These are both prophecies in Isaiah where God shares His plan for Jesus and why it was important to send a savior for us. Praying with your child will be really important tonight! They have learned so much today about Jesus and God s mission for our lives. Thank you God for sending your son to die for us. We love you so much and want to be close to you. Amen. Friday Doors open for Closing celebration at 2:45pm. EVER WONDER WHAT THE SPRINGHILL LOGO MEANS? We call it an energy mark and it was created to show the non-stop fun and high-energy spirit of SpringHill. Some say they see a cross when they look at the logo. What do you see?
THURSDAY Today your child learned about Paul and the huge storm that caused the ship carrying him and 276 prisoners to run aground. Paul shows us what it looks like to make sure that we are trusting God s plan for us and that He will always keep His promises to us. We learned that by trusting in God, He will protect us therefore we can be brave and share our stories. Just like Paul, we want to be able to share what He has done in our lives in order to grow His Kingdom. + Continue to think about reflections and ask your child how they can be trusting in God. + How can you be brave like Paul? + What are ways that you can share your story with people around you? + What can we do together to show God s love for us to people around us? I trust Christ and I share His story. Once we have committed to Christ, we want to reflect Him in everything we do and say. The Holy Spirit is a helper that comes to assist us with this (John 14:26). Thank the Lord for giving us promises that we can trust He will fulfill. Pray with your child that God will give us courage and bravery to share our story with our friends, family, and those we come in contact with each day. Thank Him for allowing us to be a part of His family and trust that He is who He says He is. and 4:00 PM for child pick-up. Friday We won t be needing our bathing suits tomorrow. FRIDAY Congratulations! Your child has completed our Spy Training! They have helped us solve so many missions to discover how much God loves us and how He sent His son as a sacrifice for us. Today, we wanted to learn about what to do now that we know what Jesus has done for us. God asks us to share His gospel and try to act as much like Him as we can. That can be hard! But it all starts by reading what God says and sharing Him with people who don t know Jesus! When Jesus does a great work in our life, we can overflow with excitement to tell everyone about it! + What good things has God done in your life this week? + What new thing did you learn about Jesus? + Who is someone that you can tell about the way that Jesus has sacrificed for you? By fulfilling God s missions for me, I make a difference in my world. We hope this week has encouraged your family to be opening your bibles together! If you don t have it already, we encourage the Jesus Storybook Bible for children to learn the way that the story of Jesus weaves its way through the entire bible. To continue solving missions, you could invest in Kingdom Quest as a daily devotional for you and your child to continue to dive deeper into God s word and the ways that we can be following Him! Dear God, thank you so much for the opportunity to spend a week at SpringHill. We pray that the things that we learned this week will find a home in our hearts and will lead us to live following Jesus example.
