Learn to dive deeper and develop a form of prayer called Centering Prayer. This group is for anyone, no matter where they are on their prayer journey. MUSIC MINISTRY: Both choirs (Steeple Singers & Sanctuary Choir) will maintain their Sunday schedules throughout August with no rehearsals for both choirs in August. Anyone wishing to join either or both groups is welcomed to contact Dot Little, Director of Steeple Singers and/or Roy Belfield, Director of the Sanctuary Choir. Eleanor Jane Hartman (former member of HBC) was diagnosed with a brain tumor and has been hospitalized in Greenville, NC. Rev. Calvin Malefyt, her husband, and family have asked for prayers for Eleanor. (Add.: 100 Hickory Street, Apt. E-305, Greenville, NC 27858) Rayfield Winnegan (stepson of Larry Jones) was in a serious accident while on his motorcycle. He was flown to Obici in Norfolk to undergo surgery to reattach his spine. Rayfield came thru the surgery and his prognosis is dayto-day. The family would appreciate your prayers. MISSIONS: At SAME we are already preparing the kids for back to school. At this time we are asking for back-to-school clothing. Both warm weather and cold weather clothes are needed. In the coming weeks, please keep an eye out for other opportunities to help our neighbors with children attending school in the Fall. Dance Lessons: Join the fun and learn a few dance steps along the way. The Deacon Community Development Team is sponsoring dance lessons beginning the first Tuesday night the week after Labor Day (Sept. 11) to foster a more bonded church community and meet new friends. The details: Lessons will run for four weeks starting 11 Sept. & 18. We will skip 25 Sept. due to the Deacons Meeting that night. The lessons will run from 6:30 to 7:30 P.M. and will be held in the Fellowship Hall in the new annex. Certified dance instructors will lead each course. The dance we plan to learn is Night Club, a slow, flowing dance great for weddings and other formal affairs. Cost is $40 per person for all four lessons. (Lessons normally cost $80 per hour.) Payment due before first lesson cash or personal check. We need a minimum of twelve individuals to start up the class (with a maximum of 24). Each session will be VERY INFORMAL with the emphasis on having a good time, reinforcing existing friendships, and meeting new people.
