November 1, 2015 All Saints Day See what love the Father has bestowed on us that we may be called the children of God. When Jesus saw the crowds, he went up the mountain, and after he had sat down, his disciples came to him. He began to teach them, saying: Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the land. Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be satisfied. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when they insult you and persecute you and utter every kind of evil against you falsely because of me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven. - Mark 10:46-52 WELCOME TO ST. ST. ANTHONY PARISH 1921-2015 November 1, 2015 All Saints Day The challenge of sainthood is to go where love takes us. -Prayer for Daybreak and Day's End, Vol. II Behold, I make all things new! We are not alone in our efforts to create something new. Now is the time to embrace and support our Diocesan church for, in the words of Pope Francis, the real newness is the newness which God himself mysteriously brings about and inspires, provokes, guides and accompanies in a thousand ways. Our Parish Goal is to have all families participate in the Annual Catholic Appeal this year. Campaign Progress Report as of October 28, 2015 St. Anthony Church Financial Goal - $62,800 Currently Pledged - $14,850 Percentage of Goal - 24% Currently Paid - $9,890 Total Donors - 54 Registered Households - 447 Percentage Participation - 12.08% May God give us hearts large enough to hold His dreams for us, and to see his Son more clearly in our midst as one who serves. FALL MINISTRY OF HANDS St. Anthony and St. Francis Xavier parishes are again collaborating in the Fall Ministry of Hands Project on Saturday, November 7, from 9 am to 12 pm. If you are an elderly or disabled parishioner in need of help with autumn chores, please call St. Anthony Parish at 543-3129, or Pam at St. Francis at 541-6041, to sign up, or use the sign-up sheet in our church vestibule. If you are able to volunteer to provide assistance to those in need on November 7, please contact one of the phone numbers noted above or use the sign-up sheet. Volunteers will meet in Reidy Hall to assign jobs and have a light breakfast together. This is a wonderful stewardship project to help people who can no longer do some chores on their own. All Souls Day I am the Resurrection, I am the life; to believe in me means life, in spite of death, and all who believe and live in me shall never die. - John 11:25-26 Prayer for All Saints Day All you holy saints of God, we join our prayers of praise to yours this day. With you, we sing of God s goodness, rejoice in God s mercy and celebrate God s incredible love. Teach us to live as you lived always thinking of others, always recognizing our weakness, always rejoicing in God s gifts, always closely following Jesus. Blessed are you, happy are you, all you holy saints of God. Pray for us that someday we too may be among God s holy ones. Amen. - Gwen Costello from Blessed Are You! PLEASE NOTE: Due to a funeral, the 7:00 am Mass on November 2, All Souls Day, is canceled.
