Correction: Last week s sermon gave some dates about Martin Luther and events of the Reformation in Germany. Here are the correct dates: In the year 1517 on All Hallow s Eve, Oct. 31st, Luther posted the 95 Theses on the door of All Saints Church in Wittenberg, Germany. Luther s seal (or Luther s rose ) which he used to authorize correspondence, was designed in 1530. Pastor Dana on Vacation: Pastor Dana will be on vacation November 6-12. Dell Sailer will be preaching Sunday, November 8. Pastor Kisten Thompson will be available for pastoral emergencies at 651-216-5493. Education Hour Join us after worship for an hour of learning for all ages. Education Hour runs 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Adult FOrum: Adult Forum meets in the library. Today will be the last of four forums on the topic of marriages at Galilee. The morning s facilitator will be Emmy R. Kegler who has a Masters of Divinity from Luther Seminary. She is a local church curriculum writer, and blogger who is awaiting a pastoral call. She also curates the website queergrace.com, a free encyclopedia for navigating LGBTQ life and Christian faith. Sunday School: Students ages 3-12 are invited to go downstairs for Sunday School. Confirmation: Confirmation for grades 6-9 is held by Pastor Dana and David Maravelas. 5
Coming UP Election Day Reminder: Tuesday, November 4 is election day. Galilee is a polling place. The office will still be open. LEFSE WORKSHOP: The annual Lefse Workshop will take place Monday, November 2 from 8 a.m to 3 p.m. We will be rolling and cooking the lefse rounds to fill all the orders. No experience necessary-we ll teach you how to make this Scandinavian treat. Sign up in the kiosk if you can help out (invite a friend, too!). If you have lefsemaking equipment (grills, rolling pins, pastry boards, cloths, etc.) that you are willing to share, please indicate that on the sign-up sheet. Book Discussion: The discussions of Jesus Freak: Feeding, Healing, Raising the Dead by Sara Miles have begun, but it s not too late to join in! We will meet on Wednesdays November 4, 11, and 18 at 7 a.m. at the Good Earth Restaurant in Roseville. You are welcome to add your thoughts to the conversation about this deep and inspiring book.
