As we are celebrating 75th anniversary of our parish, we need to take a moment to give special thanks to one of the shepherds who guided Visitation Parish through a very difficult moment in its history. As you know, following the death of Fr. Brelsford, Monsignor Hill came out of retirement to be the administrator of our parish for that painful year. During that time he shepherded our parish well. He embodies the words of today s Gospel. I am the good shepherd, and I know my sheep and mine know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I will lay down my life for the sheep. FOURTH SUNDAY OF EASTER SESSIONS OF FAITH Parish Religious Education Program (PREP) is for students in first grade through middle school and includes Sacrament preparation, and Baptism for unbaptized children. Classes are held on Sundays from 9:15 am 10:45 am. BAPTISM The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated on the 4th Saturday of every month at 1pm in the church. Parishioners are invited to call the office to get an appointment for an interview and place in our Baptism class which is held on the 3rd Sunday of every month in our Parish Center after attendance at the 11am Mass. RCIA OUR RCIA GROUP will continue next fall to meet on Mondays from 7-9pm. PAGE FOUR Threads of Our Lives: A Quilted Journey, Wednesday, May 9 ~ Wednesday May 16, 2018 Opening Reception May 9, 7pm with Dr. Thomas Hedberg Exhibit open daily 9am -10pm The remarkable quilts in this exhibit are the incredible art of Betsy Caprio Hedberg, a Jungian Therapist, Spiritual Director, a prolific and published spiritual writer. The selection of hand made quilts are loaned to us by her husband Dr. Thomas Hedberg. Not your ordinary quilt show, the quilts on display are paired with Betsy s original writings on the journey of the soul as told through the language and metaphor of the art of quilt making. The exhibit will begin with an evening reception, May 9, an opportunity to gather with Dr. Thomas Hedberg and the Mary & Joseph Quilters. Light refreshments will be served. As we gather to view the quilts, Dr. Thomas Hedberg will share the insights and wisdom of this incredible woman of faith. Betsy passed away in March 2016, but her grace and her love of using art to explore the spiritual life of the soul continues to inspire and challenge us.
