Frazeysburg United Methodist Church Open hearts, Open minds, Open doors. From the Pastor... May-2018 Many things are happening in the month of May. Hopefully the weather will finally be straightened out and we can enjoy being outdoors again. Every Sunday this May has a special designation. May 6 th is Communion Sunday. May 13 th is Ascension Sunday when we lift up the Lord s Ascension to heaven. May 20 th is Pentecost Sunday, when the church was born. The Apostles were empowered by the Holy Spirit to go and make disciples of Christ and bring people to the salvation offered by Jesus Christ. May 27 th is Trinity Sunday, when we celebrate the triune nature of God: God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The month of May sort of kicks off a very busy couple of months for this church. The last week of May also has us in the midst of graduations and the related graduation parties. No sooner do we get through the month of May and its attendant activities then we are in June with Annual conference and Vacation Bible School. VBS is one of our most important ministries. The church is born when its people rejoice and worship together. The church is born when God asks Whom shall I send and we raise our hands and say Here I am Lord, Send me. The church is born when we work together to bring people to Christ and his merciful salvation. God doesn t call us because of our special qualifications. God doesn t worry about whether or not we are qualified. He qualifies the people who answer his call. Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!
