PRAYERS Please pray for those celebrating special occasions:... An end to violence & terrorism in all parts of the world; for those being persecuted; for all refugees; for all affected by natural disasters, for our Queen, Prime Minister and all those in authority. Our military and their families currently serving at home & abroad, for all our Anglican Chaplains and their Bishop Military Ordinate. In our Anglican Communion in the World we pray for the Resurrection of our Lord Easter Day and in our Companion Diocese of Jerusalem we pray for St Luke s Episcopal Church, Marka, Amman. B ales for the North Each yer the Anglican Church of Canada sends bales of goods to several communi es in Canada s North. New items only please, and all clothing, material/yarn should be wash and wear. The following items are most needed: Household item such as sheets, blankets, pillowcases, towels, face cloths, dish cloths and towels, pot holders, aprons, curtains, table cloths Clothing such as jeans (all sizes, especially large men s), underwear (adult sizes), sweaters, flannele e nightgowns, work socks, co on dresses (size 18 40), gloves, mi s (thermo or ski) Kni ed ar cles such as sweaters, mi s, socks, gloves, scarves, baby wool for kni ng Sundries such as 3 4 yards co on, flannele e, corduroy or fleece material, safety pins, sewing items and thimbles Children s Toys - small, flat, light items such as story books, stuffed toys, games, puzzles, paints, crayons, paint/colouring books, dolls, balls and other small trucks and games Mothers /Children s Bags: For visits to the hospital, which is usually a trip by air. Groups could make and stuff bags approximately 10 x 15 inche with a draw string. Items to include are soap, deodorant, a few bandages, comb, toothbrush (in their protec ve covering), hair brush, and perhaps some hair accessories. Bales will be packed at St. John s in Richmond on Monday, May 1, star ng at 9 am. Last year we were able to donate several bags of items to the bales, Vera Hoyland took them to O awa for the packing. Let s help our northern neighbours to have some of the things we take for granted.
