(NLT) Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? (NKJV) 1. You Can Anticipate Being Filled Romans 10:9 If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you will be saved. (NKJV) Acts 19:1-3 1 While Apollos was in Corinth, Paul traveled through the interior regions until he reached Ephesus, on the coast, where he found several believers. 2 Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed? he asked them. No, they replied, we haven t even heard that there is a Holy Spirit. 3 Then what baptism did you experience? he asked. And they replied, The baptism of John. (NLT) Acts 19:4-7 4 Paul said, John s baptism called for repentance from sin. But John himself told the people to believe in the One who would come later, meaning Jesus. 5 As soon as they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 Then when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in other tongues and prophesied. 7 There were about twelve men in all. (NLT) Luke 11:13 So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him. (NLT) 2. You Can Anticipate Being Empowered Acts 1:8 You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. (NKJV) Galatians 5:16 Walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. (NKJV) Acts 3:6-7 6 Peter said, Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk. 7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. (NKJV) 1 Corinthians 12:7-11 7 The manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all. 8 For to one is given the word of wisdom though the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things distributing to each one individually as He wills. (NKJV) Romans 8:26 The Spirit helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. (NKJV) 1 John 4:4...the Spirit who is in you is more powerful than the spirit in those who belong to the world. (GNB) The big idea: You can anticipate God continuing to work in your life!

Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry, He will baptize you with the Holy Ghost and fire. (NKJV) John the Baptist prophesied that Jesus would baptize His followers with the Holy Ghost. John 14:16-17, 26 16 I will pray the Father and He will give you another Comforter that He may abide with you forever - 17 the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him for He dwells with you and will be in you. 26 The Comforter is the Holy Ghost. Jesus prophesied the Father would give the Holy Ghost to His people and that He would be with them forever. Acts 1:4-5 4 And being assembled together with them, Jesus commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, which, He said, you have heard from Me; 5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now. (NKJV) 6

(NLT) These people had placed their faith in Jesus Christ and they were saved but they had never heard about the baptism in the Holy Spirit. and they spoke in other tongues and prophesied. 7 There were about twelve men in all. (NLT) Water baptism is to follow repentance just as spiritual gifts are to follow Spirit baptism. Luke 11:13 So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him. (NLT) 9
Jesus promises that God will give the Holy Spirit to those who would ask Him to be filled. 2. You Can Anticipate Being Empowered 10
Acts 1:8 You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. (NKJV) The only way you can live successfully for God is through the power of the Holy Spirit! 11
Galatians 5:16 Walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. (NKJV) Walking in the Spirit means you allow the Holy Spirit to direct your every step so that you will live the way God wants you to live. (NKJV) The Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to every Spirit-filled believer so that everyone benefits. 14
