KINDWAY MATTERS: Kindway Matters is an organization whose mission is to invest in the lives of those impacted by incarceration. On March 23 at 7:00 pm, Christine Money, will introduce you to Kindway Matters and its rich history which sets a standard of excellence for serving others. Christine is a retired Warden of three different prisons and is currently the interim director of the Ohio Department of Youth Services. Kindway Matters has been defined by the countless acts of kindness shown to individuals and families in need as well as to incarcerated men and women. Kindway Matters volunteers accompany people being reformed on their journey toward independence by investing in the lives of those impacted by incarceration. In addition to this presentation, formerly incarcerated men and women create and offer a unique shopping experience. The message you will hear will move your heart. The Kindway Matters items are beautiful and will make great gifts, while supporting a Christian justice oriented ministry. Items will be available for purchase during this presentation. LENT MADNESS: Lent is a sacred time of preparation, penitence, self-reflection, and renewal, but there s no reason a Lenten discipline needs to be dreary. Taking our faith, yet not ourselves, too seriously is the essence of Lent Madness. Take this opportunity to meet some amazing people who have come before us in the faith. What we learn from the saints and saintly people is they, like us, are flawed human beings through whose lives Christ s love shone brightly. If this love can shine brightly in their lives, perhaps we too can be beacons of the Good News. Read about some of the saints and really good people in our Christian tradition in the Saintly Scorecard. Pick up Saintly Scorecard at the kiosk while supplies last. Go to lentmadness.org or follow the link from the St. Brigid of Kildare website to vote online each weekday for the saint of your choice starting March 2. Watch the big bracket on the kiosk as the saints move forward each week. Be sure to track your time studying and reflecting on these amazing people and record it on our 10,000 Hour Prayer Challenge. 10,000 HOURS LENTEN PRAYER CHALLENGE: Prayer knows no limitations of time or place. This Lent we are being invited to storm heaven with our prayer for peace. To encourage and inspire our personal focus on daily prayer, our parish will participate in a prayer challenge during Lent and the Easter Season. Our goal is to pray 10,000 hours as a parish during this most holy season. To log your time spent in prayer, simply go online to stbrigidofkildare.org, scroll to the bottom of the page, and type in the minutes you prayed today (or this week), and click submit. Enter your prayer minutes daily, or save them up to enter once a week either way works. Let s see what a difference we can make as a parish - praying together and for each other and for peace in our world during the Lenten and Easter Seasons! 14 PRAYER STATIONS: To prepare for the Prayer Challenge and to help make personal daily prayer an integral part of our lives, each of the 14 Prayer Stations focus on a different prayer method or theme. The Prayer Stations are opportunities for you to explore new ways of prayer and strengthen your usual method of prayer. 1. Little Black Book 2. Praying with Scripture 3. Praying with On-line Aids 4.
