ANNOUNCEMENTS WELCOME NEW MEMBERS! If you have recently joined St. James, welcome! We are glad you have joined us and we want to meet you! On December 3, after the 9:30am Mass, we will have a "Welcome Donut Sunday" at the Providence school gym. All new members are invited to come as there will be welcome bags given to each family/member and a time for fellowship to meet other parishioners. All members of St. James are strongly encouraged to come as well to meet the newest members of our parish family KNIGHTS OF ST. JOSEPH The Knights of St. Joseph pray during the month of December, as a blacksmith toils ardently and meticulously over the piece of metal he just pulled out of the blazing and fiery forge, so too, may we work ardently and meticulously during these four weeks of Advent by straightening what is bent and crooked in our spiritual lives. Imagine for a moment, Jesus, being the Master Blacksmith in the Sacrament of Penance working at His anvil, molding and shaping our spiritual lives by hammering away the slag (sin) and impurities that keep us from being in the state of Sanctifying Grace. Men of all parishes are welcome to join us on Friday, December 15, at 6:00 pm for our evening of prayer which includes praying Evening and Night Prayer, Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, an opportunity for confession and listening to Fr. Altman s talk on grace. Following Benediction, the men will gather in Murphy Hall for pizza, refreshments and camaraderie. If you plan to join us for pizza, please send us an email atknightsofstjoseph2013@gmail.com or click yes on the event poll at our Facebook page athttps://www.facebook.com/ laxknights/. MARRIAGE PREPARATION RETREATS The La Crosse Deanery, which consists of 14 area parishes, will be offering Married Love: Two Becoming One, a marriage preparation retreat for engaged couples, on February 9-10, April 27-28, and July 13-14, 2018. All three of these retreats will take place at Blessed Sacrament Parish Hall in La Crosse. Couples must register for Married Love: Two Becoming One at least two weeks prior to the retreat. To register for a retreat please contact Maggie at Blessed Sacrament Parish at 608-782- 2953. PLEASE SUPPORT THE RETIREMENT FUND FOR RELIGIOUS Elderly Catholic sisters, brothers, and religious order priests need your help. All of us, in some way or another, have benefitted from their many years of service in Catholic schools, hospitals, and parishes. Often they received little to no pay, and now there is a shortage in retirement savings. Your gift to the national Retirement Fund for Religious provides funding for medication, nursing care, and more. The collection for this campaign will be at Holy Mass the weekend of December 9-10. Thank you for your support! Roughly 94 percent of donations to the fund directly aids senior religious and their communities. BAMBINELLI SUNDAY DECEMBER 17TH For the past several decades, each year on Gaudete Sunday, the Third Sunday of Advent, children (and adults) bring their Baby Jesus figurines from their home crib to St. Peter s Square where the Pope will bless both the people and the figurines during the Angelus. This year consider celebrating Bambinelli Sunday at your parish on Sunday, December 17. Invite your parishioners to bring the Baby Jesus figurine from their home crib to be blessed on Sunday, December 17. Families can even make their own bambinelli if they want. A suggestion is, following the blessing, take your bambinelli home and place it in a gift box, wrap it, and save it for Christmas. Let this be the first gift your family opens on Christmas, when together you place your Baby Jesus figure in the crib, and have a home blessing of the Nativity for your whole family.
Right to Life. From conception to natural death. No apologies. The NCAA plays games in communist Cuba and communist China but they refuse to play games in North Carolina because of alleged human rights violations when/after North Carolina passed a law protecting women and children from men dressed as women using their restrooms and locker-rooms. Let the totality of that abominable anti-christian cultural rot sink in. It is long past time for people of Faith to stand up and take back our country - and our religious freedom - from the liberal pagans who are stuffing their anti-constitutional cultural rot down our throats. The One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church there is no substitute
