REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE SUPERINTENDENT

a. Superintendent Report and Recommendations 2 2. ACKNOWLEDGE NATIONAL SCHOOL BREAKFAST WEEK. Resolve the Board of Education acknowledge National School Breakfast Week (March 7 11, 2016). WHEREAS, the School Breakfast Program has served our nation admirably since it was permanently established in 1975; and WHEREAS, the School Breakfast Program is dedicated to the health and well being of our nation s children; and WHEREAS, the School Breakfast Program joins and has been joined through the years by many other excellent child nutrition programs; and WHEREAS, there is evidence of continued need for nutrition education and awareness of the value of school nutrition programs, NOW THEREFORE, the North Royalton Board of Education hereby proclaims the week of March 7 11, 2016 as National School Breakfast Week and encourages all residents to become aware and concerned about their children s and their own nutrition habits, in hope of achieving a more healthy citizenry for today and the future. 3. APPROVE AGREEMENT FOR MEMBERSHIP IN CONNECT. WHEREAS, Connect, which was formerly known as North Coast Council, is a regional council of governments established pursuant to O.R.C. Chapter 167 and operates as an information technology center pursuant to O.R.C. 3301.075 and O.A.C. 3301 3; and WHEREAS, the Board desires to be a member of Connect pursuant to the terms and conditions set forth in the attached Agreement for Membership in Connect and in the attached Bylaws Governing Connect; and WHEREAS, the Board desires to purchase certain services from Connect pursuant to the terms and conditions set forth in the attached Connect Service Contract. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education of the North Royalton City School District, North Royalton, Ohio, that: Section 1. The Board hereby approves the Agreement for Membership in Connect, the Bylaws Governing Connect, and the Connect Service Contract, and hereby agrees to be bound by and comply with all of the terms and conditions set forth in said documents. Section 2. The Board hereby authorizes and directs the Board President, Treasurer, and Superintendent to execute and deliver the attached Agreement for Membership in Connect and the Connect Service Contract on behalf of the Board. Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Board concerning and relating to the adoption of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Board, and that all deliberations of this Board and any of its committees that resulted in such formal actions were adopted in meetings open to the public and in compliance with all legal requirements, including O.R.C. 121.22.

3 4. APPROVE PHOTOGRAPHIC SERVICE AGREEMENT WITH LIFETOUCH NATIONAL SCHOOL STUDIOS. Resolve the Board of Education approve a photographic service agreement with Lifetouch National School Studios for North Royalton High School s classes of 2017, 2018 and 2019. 5. APPROVE AGREEMENT PSI AFFILIATES, INC./PSI ASSOCIATES, INC. for the 2015 2016 SCHOOL YEAR ST. ALBERT. Resolve the Board of Education to approve the agreement with PSI Affiliates, Inc./PSI Associates, Inc. for the 2015 2016 school year for auxiliary services at St. Albert the Great in the amount of $1,895.88 and appoint Julie Bogden as administrator. Services are for the School Psychologist. 6. APPROVE APPOINTMENTS STIPENDS. Resolve the Board of Education approve stipends as indicated: Wilson Training Certification ($27.95 per hour not to exceed 27 hours) Catherine Dostal Step Up To Quality ($27.95 per hour not to exceed 3 hours) Stephanie Adams Devan Molnar Lori Pekare Briana Raleigh Cynthia Velotta b. Personnel and Policy 7. RETIREMENT RECOGNITION. Resolve the Board of Education adopt the following resolution upon the retirement of Diane Merholz. WHEREAS, Diane has been a valued member of the North Royalton City School District; and WHEREAS, she has made significant contributions to enhance the educational experience for all students; and WHEREAS, her presence will be missed by students and staff alike, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the members of the North Royalton Board of Education express their appreciation and wish her a long and happy retirement.

c. Business, Buildings and Grounds 6 16. APPROVE PARTICIPATION IN THE OHIO SCHOOL FACILITIES COMMISSION EXPEDITED LOCAL PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the North Royalton City School District intends to participate in the Expedited Local Partnership Program as outlined in SB 272; and WHEREAS, the North Royalton City School District is planning to expend local resources to achieve a separate and distinct part of an overall master facilities plan of the school district s facility needs as prepared, in conjunction, with the Ohio School Facilities Commission, that is either new construction or major repairs; and WHEREAS, the North Royalton City School District intends to move forward with a ballot issue or apply other local resources in fiscal year 2016 or 2017. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education of the North Royalton City School District, Cuyahoga County, Ohio that the school district declares its intention to participate in the Expedited Local Partnership Program. 17. APPROVE ALL DAY KINDERGARTEN FEES. Resolve the Board of Education to approve the fee for all day kindergarten for the 2016 17 school year to be $2,100.00. The all day option shall be fee based and students will be selected using a lottery system that has been developed. Be it further resolved that the Superintendent is hereby authorized to establish fees for the all day kindergarten option which may be reduced for students qualifying for free or reduced price lunches. 18. APPROVE EXTENDED TRIP PROPOSALS. Resolve the Board of Education approve the following trip proposals: North Royalton High School Varsity Softball Mahoning Valley Invitational (May 6 7, 2016) 19. ACCEPT GIFTS/DONATIONS. Resolve the Board of Education accept and acknowledge the following gifts/donations: Cleveland Gladiators donated 4 club seat tickets for a 2016 home game to North Royalton Middle School s PBS program. Nauman Sporting Goods, LLC, donated $100 to North Royalton Middle School s Winter Sports Club for the Peek n Peak trip. Gearin Up, LLC, donated $70 to North Royalton Middle School s Winter Sports Club. Giant Eagle in North Royalton donated a gift card for refreshments for Valley Vista s third grade square dance. Jim Borowy of Brunswick donated 75 books to Valley Vista that will be used in their library. Pattie Malley of North Royalton donated books to Royal View s library.
