From the President s Desk Jaspal Soni The last three months have been very busy for the Chananda Cultural Society. We conducted four workshops at selected public venues in New Delhi. This is the first time we have conducted a workshop tour in this manner. The topics were: Many new and repeat seekers came and several of them attended the five follow-up workshops held on Sunday evenings at the ashram thru November 16. Two weeks ago, we started inviting all the attendees of past workshops to the ashram and meeting with them one-on-one to further help clarify their concepts of the teachings and encourage them to learn and decree more effectively. We are finding this experiment to be mutually rewarding for all parties in two ways: (1) laying a strong foundation for the souls to help them understand the simplicity of the teachings; and (2) establishing a trusting and transparent environment for the growth of the Chananda Cultural Society in India. Beginning November 23, we will be going to a newer venue in a different city to break the bread of the teachings on a relatively larger scale. We have been invited by a local chela living in the nearby town of Gurgaon, about 20 kilometers away, to repeat the same four workshops twice a week in two segments, four hours in length, in her home 1 Copyright Chananda Cultural Society 2014. before a new gathering of people. This is an exciting opportunity to establish another stronghold for the Brotherhood in another town. We are praying to the masters to cut loose stalwart souls there who are meant to serve as the anchor points of light. A Westerner s Travel Tips for India Next year, we are looking forward to participating in the annual New Delhi World Book Fair on February 14-22 and the New Age Group, Life Positive Expo on February 20-22 both of these venues in the past have proven to be very beneficial for us in contacting new seekers of Truth. We are planning to hold more workshops at public venues during the March-May timeframe. Join a Prayer Vigil for India Each Month People come to the Baha i Temple in New Delhi to offer prayers from the world religions The Chananda Cultural Society would like to thank you for your prayers and continued support in making the difference for the expansion of the light in Mother India. The India Committee expresses its God-gratitude to the Bozeman Teaching Center for the ongoing monthly prayer vigil broadcasts being held on the third Thursday of each month from 6:30-8:30 PM and the entire antahkarana of light worldwide. Are you coming to Darjeeling for Summit University in September 2015? Are you joining the added tours? Traveling to India on your own? Or, are you are an armchair traveler who just likes to read about what it s like? Whatever the case, here are a few travel tips from Westerners who find India exciting, beautiful, challenging, and fun. These are real tips, but are also meant to be lighthearted! 1. Learn your elephant s name. If you are going by elephant up the mountain to one of Akbar s palaces in Rajastan, it s good to know his or her name. They are nice elephants and do a good job. 2. Carry a sun umbrella. Not only will it keep you cool, but your friends will also be able to find you in a crowd. 2 Copyright Chananda Cultural Society 2014. All rights reserved.
3. Fall in love with hand-sanitizers. You will find infinite uses for hand-sanitizers or similar products. Of course, you will always want to clean your hands, but it is also good for feet, utensils in some restaurants, drinking glasses in same, doorknobs in hotels, etc. Now, on our trips we book the best hotels and restaurants, so sanitizing is not a requirement, but you never know when you ll need it. 4. Bring booties. Booties?? Now, this is really a Western thing (although you see many Japanese and Thai folks doing the same.) Why? Whenever you visit a temple (which is often) or monument (such as the Taj Mahal) of almost any kind, you are required to take your shoes off and leave them with a shoe-keeper. Most people then go barefoot, but we like to wear our socks instead. If you wear only your socks, they are soon black on the bottoms. Hence, booties are a good solution, such as the kind you can throw away or reuse a few times. When stuck without booties or socks and you have only your bare feet no problem! See point 3. Above. 5. Tape your name to the front and back of your passport. This doesn t really help you, but it will help your travel guides who have to collect your passports at every hotel and airport and then hand them back to you. It saves opening and closing them every time, which is a lot for a large group of people. Watch for more travel tips in our future issues. Interesting Movie from India If you like learning about other cultures from movies, you may enjoy renting a new one released in 2013 called The Lunchbox, staring Irrfan Khan, Nimrat Kaur, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Did you know that in Mumbai, thousands of homemade or lunch service lunches are delivered individually in multi-tiered containers to the desks of the subscribers? Seeing that system alone is worth the movie. But one lunch gets mixed up, and instead of going to her husband, goes to a stranger and a relationship begins. Rated PG and with English subtitles. 3 Copyright Chananda Cultural Society 2014. All rights reserved.

Violet Flame Changing Lives in India The Experience of Mrs. and Lt. Col. (retired) R. C. Puri We read about violet fire in a recent edition of the Times of India newspaper and started chanting the violet fire manta, I AM a being of 4 Copyright Chananda Cultural Society 2014. All rights reserved. violet fire, I AM the purity God desires for fifteen minutes three times a day. We added this chanting to our already ongoing chanting of Hare Rama Hare Krishna as was suggested in the Times of India article. Within two weeks we found improvements in areas such as concentration, fearlessness, general feel-good factor, compassion and tolerance levels. Most noteworthy was the restoration of a very important part on rebuilding of relationships with family and friends which were believed to be at a dead end. Inspiration to make an attempt to reach out was noticed in both sides which helped in restoring the bond. Subsequently when we attended a workshop offered by the Chananda Cultural Society, it was brought out that alternating chanting of the violet fire mantra with the Hare Rama Hare Krishna mantra is an ideal method to chant. Somehow we were already doing it as if it was desired by God. The Violet Fire mantra is a magical mantra and gives a boost to all factors of daily life. We are now chanting for healing of a foot bunion problem as guided by the ascended masters teachings. Comforting vibrations, though feeble, are being felt. We hope that in the future we will be able to report more successes. The Experience of an Active-Duty Army Officer My senior in my establishment introduced me to the workshop on the violet flame in New Delhi. The instructor at the workshop introduced a completely new concept of violet flame. The Chart of the I AM Presence explained the connectivity between the Atma and the Jeeva which is very informative. It helps in understanding the presence of divine oneness. The chanting of mantras, or the decrees, gives tremendous peace of mind and calmness. I am giving at least 15 minutes before I start my daily work. I am able to control my anger and my emotions.
