Vernon (born 1920) graduated from Brigham Young University in 1950 with a master's degree in sociology after completing a bachelor's degree there in 1947. He then went on to graduate from Washington State University in 1953 with a Ph.D. in sociology. Vernon was a professor at the University of Utah, as well as head of its sociology department, during the 1970s. Content Description The Glenn M. Vernon papers (circa 1940-1989) contain research files, drafts, and other preparatory material for Vernon's scholarly writing and teaching, as well as documents providing information on his academic career.
